Great find. Simple down-home food with friendly service. Diner is classic 1950s style and décor. Local seafood a specialty

Classic dinner. Fast service, typical dinner menu, plus seafood. Special note that the waitress was kind enough to advise the clam strips while usually fresh today were frozen just so I knew. Nice! Tried them anyway and they were fine. Very reasonably priced. Glad to have an opportunity to stop in anytime.

Classic diner. Fast & inexpensive food with plentiful portions. The email address is not indicative of food quality or how food may affect you.( )

The food is amazing, but it’s frequently over crowded… So we do our best to avoid it in the mornings. The place needs a little remodel, as things are slightly run down. It’s a great place to catch a bite and a blast from the past though. It’s definitely worth a visit or two!

I just had a great dinner of crab cakes and a wonderful trip back in time. The food was some of the best and the service was excellent. The diner is of a style of long forgotten nostalgia. A great place to book mark for my next trip on 13.

This diner drove me to create a Unilocal account. I do not recommend eating here. The outside of the diner looks pretty run down. That’s fine, I was thinking«maybe it is awesome inside,» this is not the case. Upon opening the door, we were greeted with a musty, old smell. We decided to charge on and give this place a shot. After ordering our drinks, we began to take in the atmosphere. There were an uncomfortable amount of flys flying around the restaurant, including a fly strip that had hundreds of dead flies on it. We should have left. The food was not good, I don’t understand how this place has so many good reviews.

It’s a complete dive, but that is totally acceptable when a dive is what you’re looking for, which I was. This very retro, tight-space little diner offers a huge helping of hospitality. I’ve eaten here twice — both times for dinner — and have not been disappointed. Exmore Diner is the very definition of authentic. What you see is what you get. It’s where the locals go, and locals can sniff out a newbie. Don’t be deterred. *smile* Order a chocolate milk shake before you go. Thumb’s up! Tip: The booths are a tight fit. If you’re what the docs call«healthy,»(like me), you might be more comfortable at the counter. And yes, I just recommended the milkshake. Don’t judge.

I really wanted to love this place because it’s a funky old school diner. But after 2 visits I have to say come for the atmosphere but not the food. Below average quality and flavor on both visits. It’s fast, friendly, affordable and definitely a locals spot but there is better food to be found on the shore.

My wife and I stopped in for breakfast on our way off the Eastern Shore. Locals had recommended it. Walked in to a half-filled house and greetings not just by the staff, but by local patrons. It would be hard NOT to engage in conversation with the regulars, everyone was friendly. Steak & eggs for what I paid? Unbelievable. Had to get the T-shirt…

Delicious breakfast of sausage gravy and biscuits. JJ had the chicken fried steak and grits and said yum as well. Friendly small diner with local flavor and folks. Very nice.

The essence of a backwater diner on the side road of life. Authentic, way past it’s prime, but still carrying its stainless steel shell and sheeting proudly. But, next time I will try to get there early enough for breakfast, as that seems much more in their wheelhouse than the dinner I had recently. Most of the choices were deep fried, which is okay, but not the only way I like seafood. My Clam Strips were pleasantly crunchy, but a rather small quantity. The side dishes of Mashed Potatoes and Fried Apples were run of the mill. The staff is friendly and cool, but the customers are really where the show starts. From fisherman, to farmers, to after church lunch eaters, and the occasional road weary warrior, the charm of this joint is the mix of people in the booths or at the counter interacting with everyone. That is definitely straight out of Faulkner.

While driving home from OBX, I used my trusty Unilocal app to help find us a breakfast spot. The great reviews lead us to the Exmore Diner, even though it was kind of off the beaten path. The diner is narrow with a row of booths and a long counter. It cannot accommodate a party larger than 4. The pancakes are sold at $ 1.75 per cake. I thought that was odd until I saw and tasted them. Wow! They are huge — two are enough for an entrée. They were The. Most. Delicious. Pancakes. Ever. So fluffy and buttery. We also had a BLT with soft toast and crispy bacon. $ 1 extra gets you a salad instead of fries, well worth it. The coffee was hot and the service was quick and professional. The bill was dirt cheap. It was $ 12 for two of us and we were stuffed. I highly recommend the pancakes though, they were unbelievable. If you’re in the area, I can’t recommend this diner enough. It is really an experience.

Five stars for atmosphere, service and delicious food. We camped in kiptopeke state park and drove 25 miles north for breakfast on our last day. So happy we did. The western omelet was perfect, with real ham not crap sandwich meat. The hotcakes were huge and fluffy, BUTMYFAVORITE part of this experience was that on the receipt the cream chipped beef was listed as SOS… you know shit on a shingle … Hahahaha made for a great laugh!

Exmore diner has been on my bookmark list for quite a while and and I must say what an excellent find indeed. I was on my way to Philly this morning and stopped in for breakfast, mom was along for the ride. This diner is a throw back to a bygone era. I don’t know how old the place is but it’s cozy and authentic to say the least. We walked in and took a booth on the right. A lady who would become our server took our drink order from behind the counter an pointed out the specials on the board. A moment later we had our drinks and placed an order. Afterwords I took a look around and it really is like stepping back in time. There are about 15 counter stools and about 6 or 7 booths. The old silver sheet metal has metal flairs and such in it, something you don’t see at all in today’s modern recreations. With about 10 minutes the table was covered with a country breakfast. Mom had the pancakes and bacon special off the board while I ordered a la carte from the menu. I had 2 eggs over easy, bacon, home fries, corned beef hash with toast. The home fries also came with onions and cheese. What a breakfast. You don’t get this kind of home cooking back home on the south side of the Bay Bridge and it was a wonderful breakfast. If you like diners, this is one to check out, it’s just off the Exmore bypass on Main St. You can’t miss it.

This Summer, I made my first trip to Exmore Diner, during a road trip, through the Eastern Shore. We decided to make the stop, based on the diner being one of the few rated businesses on the Shore. First, the service. I must admit that the customer service was great, with attentive staff and positive interaction with customers. As far as food quality, the food is standard«old school» fare, by my standards. We enjoyed eggs, cakes, ham, bacon, toast, ect… standard breakfast fare. Yes, they offer all the foods old people grew up with, but, their key to good taste consists of butter and salt… which really isn’t special. When it comes to building, parking, ect… Many write with love, about stepping back in time… Unfortunately stepping back in time isn’t the best thing for many of us… and I’ve seen MANY older diners in far better shape. The prices were great, and I was impressed. In sum, there aren’t many choices locally, so the Exmore Diner will remain a staple… I may return if in the area… but, I won’t plan to visit. Sorry Exmore Diner… buttered bread doesn’t do it for true Southerners…

The Exmore Diner pleases once again — crab cakes, French toast, fried flounder sandwich, fried oysters, collards, fried apples, butter beans and milkshakes! Love this place for its ambience, service and food. I feel like I’ve stepped back in time each time we visit.

Exmore Diner is a small cozy, and Welcoming place that you won’t be disappointed with at all. When you pull into the parking lot the establishment looks like a round trailer you’d see driving on the strip. Let me tell you… Park, walk in, sit, and enjoy some great food at a price you can’t beat in the area(see photos for menu prices as of Summer 2013). My Fiancé’ and I ordered the following: Hamburger Steak(Smothered in gravy and onions) Cheesesteak(8 oz. meat with provolone Cheese) **you can pick the cheese of your choice. I will keep this review short and sweet… After driving 7hrs for CT, the last thing I wanted was eating at a chain resturant like Hardee’s… Exmore was worth it and met my expectations x2.
