Big Boys BBQ and Catering

My wife and I stopped in here a few weeks ago. As we stood and looked at the menu the owner started telling us all the stuff they didn’t have. I’ve worked in restaurants for about 30 years so I understand running out of stuff or not making product if the demand isn’t high. With that said maybe you should adjust your menu, remove the items you don’t have and highlight the things you do have.
We planned on getting a few pounds of pulled pork instead of the sandwiches because we were very hungry and we wanted leftovers. The owner said the sandwiches were more than enough food. He was incorrect and frankly it irritated me that he assumed he knew what we wanted more than we did.
My wife and I were split on what we thought of the food so I won’t leave too bad of a review. The pork was good but the sauce lacked any heat or stand out flavor. I enjoyed the sides but my wife didn’t. It isn’t the best bbq ever and it isn’t even the best in the area. I like trying the local places and the smaller establishments but frankly I’d opt to go to Smokey Bones and get more mass produced food before I’d ever stop here again. While the food was decent I’d rather not deal with the owner ever again.

I went to this place tonight and got there at 5:45. There was a sign on the door that said closing at 6:00 for catering. I walked in and the guy said he is closed for a catering job. I told him his website states that he is open until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays. I was even there 15 minutes before the sign said he was closing! Really??? All he said was «sorry».
So am I… sorry for this business owner who doesn’t run a business the right way. I have my own small business, along with my husband and two daugthers who have their own businesses. Our hours are posted for our customers and we are ALWAYS open during business hours. If he does catering he needs to have more employees who can stay and run the other aspect of the business.
I made a special trip to this place and will not return. I will also let my friends know about my experience. I am going to contact Double Deals and get my $ 10 back since I don’t want to patronize a business that closes early… and I will let them know why I am asking for a refund. I am sure they don’t want to offer deals to their customers that cannot be met.
Shame!!!
