I love Mexican food and I love this restaurant. Everything is fresh and cooked to perfection. The chips and salsa are my favorite thing!!! The wait staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and go above and beyond for every table. I love the fajitas, chimichanga, and the Philly cheesesteak burritos! Amazing food. Plus, they have coupons to use! $ 5 off.

Sticky bar, poor service and a wait with more than half the restaurant empty. The perks, table-side guacamole, refried beans and budget-friendly.

Ever hear the saying«good food isn’t fast and fast food isn’t good?» That pretty much sums up this place. Good food. Really good — so good after our first time we ate here twice in one week. The downside is we had to wait for a table for at least 20 minutes each time(on a Tuesday too!) and the service was majorly lacking — we never got drink refills, we saw our server once each time — and had to look for people to help us everytime we needed something. They seem busy all the time and there isn’t enough servers working in there. They could use more help! This would usually be a deal breaker for going back to a restaurant, but… now about the food — delicious! I’m not even a huge fan of Mexican but everything seems fresh — get the table side guacamole — the best! My husband got the ENCHILADASNORTEÑAS and OMG — they were so good! They melt in your mouth like butter. We left with boxes each time, they definitely give you your moneys worth!

Checked in here a couple of years ago and decided to give this franchised Mexican restaurant a try. The staff was nice and we were given a basket of tortilla chips and salsa complimentarily, like most other restaurant of the same cuisine. We ordered the trio ceviche and fajitas for two. The ceviche portion was huge but was not that fresh though. The fajita portion was also huge and it was probably for four people instead. Taste-wise, it was alright. Most guest would get their table-side guacamole, which I thought was a little overpriced.

Went to dinner here a few nights ago. Had a great, friendly waitress. Seating was quick and service was efficient. Food was fresh and portions were huge. Will definitely be returning!

I’m a very picky eater, but I love mexican food. Plaza azteca is great. First, their happy hour is great. $ 2.50 draft beers, $ 5.00 appetizers and $ 5.00 margaritas. Dosequis amber is one of my favs. Very good prices. They bring you a complimentary chips and salsa, which is great and saves money. The chicken chimichangas are great. The cheese and sour cream sauce is really good. The service has always been great as well. If me and my fiancé want to go out and don’t want to spend a lot of money we come here. Good food quality and great drink prices. Carlos the bartender is extremely nice and quick. Highly recommend.

had dinner with a friend and we enjoyed our evening and had enough time to catch up, the place seemed just a little too loud, but we still heard each other without a problem. There’s not many things so good as fresh guacamole and the table side preparation ensures that. I had the Pescado Azteca with mashed potatoes, the sauce was a little too rich for my diet, but delicious. Fish was dry, but I did enjoy the rest of the dish. about what you expect from a chain restaurant. reasonably priced,

My food was good. The margarita was good. The service was good. Why 2 stars? My husband’s chicken was fatty, like every piece. I tried a tiny bite but didn’t like it either. He threw up all night. Have never been back since.

Love this place. The Exton /Downingtown go-to for Mexican. Seating is always fairly quick, except for maybe 6:00PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Salsa and freshly-made tortilla chips while you wait, and unusually quickly delivered entrees. I’ve stayed with the enchiladas, burritos, and quesadillas for the most part, but have yet to be disappointed. Some items could stand a little more heat(spice) but they are catering to the suburban masses here, so the average spiciness is understandable. Prices are awesome, and the staff have always been great.

This place is going to end up being a staple for going out for us. It’s reasonably priced and you get a LOT of really good food for what you pay. The wait staff are all eager to please and attentive without over doing it. The atmosphere is fun but relaxed.

My friends raved about how good the fresh guac was. The guac, my enchiladas nortenas and house margarita exceeded my expectations and I’m glad they took me here!

VERY disappointed in the efforts of management here! I called in advance to make a reservation because my son’s birthday is on Cinco de Mayo. The manager told me that it’s a busy day for them and they would not take a reservation. I told him that we would have several older people joining us and I could not have them standing around waiting. He said he could not help me out. We will not be patronizing this place again!

Go for their guacamole. It is amazing! Custom done at the table. They start by scooping the avacado from the shell and add lime onion tomatoes cilantro to taste. It is so fresh and worth the trip for that. Seafood entrées are pretty good. Their wines are not the best. Stay away from their Malbec at all costs. I might stick with appetizers next time.

This Plaza Azteca used to be THEBEST place! We have been regular patrons, aside from the winter weather keeping us away. Tonight, we stopped by and ordered our usuals. One of our favorites«Burrito San Jose», was incredibly disappointing. It went from the favorite burrito, to small, mushy, and lacking flavor. We also got the«Baja Fish Tacos». They had one tiny little strip of fish per taco — small enough that I had three tacos, beans, rice, chips, a drink, and I’m still hungry. And I don’t normally eat that much. We are left wondering if they changed chefs or something happened. We won’t be back any time soon. :-(

Plaza Azteca is my go-to Mexican restaurant in the Exton/Downingtown/Malvern area despite having it’s short-comings. The restaurants atmosphere is solid despite the chain restaurant feel. The music sets the tone for a good dining experience. The burritos are actually very good and border-line 5 stars in my book! I’m also a big fan of the guacamole which is prepared table side although the price($ 7.99) is a couple dollars too much when you factor in tipping the guy making it. While I’d love to give it another star, the major downer is on too many occasions they’ve over-reached /over-promised. For example, their fried ice cream dessert is very good. However, once I ordered it and it didn’t include the shell. Their response, «We’re out of shells» followed by a shrug of the shoulders. On a different occasion I ordered it and they masked being out of shells by spraying a huge ring of whipped cream around it. Nice try but be honest and don’t try to pass off something less than what’s expected!!! The same could be said for a decaf coffee they served that was obviously heated up in a microwave. If you don’t have it, just say so, it’s a lot better than getting a mediocre review on Unilocal!!!

I’ve been here twice for dinner and the only good thing I can write about is their extra spicy salsa,(which you have to ask for). I ordered vegetarian enchiladas which, excluding the potato ones, were just piles of bland cheese. I will not return.

Their food is authentic and delicious. Service is quick and great & if there is anything ever missing they are good about replacing food. Tonight we heard a mariachi band which kept our little ones happy and content. The house margaritas were decent but not that strong. We think we finally found the deal of the menu. When we come we order fajitas for 2 which is 24.99. It is served with carne asada, chicken, shrimp, and carnitas along with tortillas, 2 sides of besns, rice, sour cream and cheese. It’s a lot of food. We serve our 2 toddlers from this meal too. yummy food!

Wow. This was not what I was expecting. As soon as you walk in you get sucked into the culture, music and mood. It felt comfortable. The staff was pretty cheery and lively. But the food is what really got me. I split a burrito and a chicken entrée with rice, beans, the usual. Not only did it look incredible but the flavors were all there. Not sure if it’s authentic but it was definitely good food. Idk why I had such low expectations coming in but this place is worth another trip.
