Incredibly dis-organized, not helpful, not friendly. The«eye doctor» didn’t wash her hands or advise my child about washing her hands before putting contacts in her eyes for the very first time. The contact consultation was 2 minutes of the Doctor helping her put her contacts in once. Then she left and never returned after asking me to show her since I already wear them. Considering we spent $ 40 on a «contact consultation» I really think this is a disgrace. Very unprofessional. Only one lady in the office knew how to properly use the computer system and unfortunately it was not the lady helping me. We went here last year and they were awesome. This time, not so much. We will not be returning. *After writing this I immediately received a call from the owner apologizing for our experience. They are currently in a transition period and have since corrected some of the issues mentioned. After returning to pick up our contacts we feel a lot better about the situation. I will return for my appointment next month to give them another chance.*

Absolutely the WORST experience, after going back 3 times and spending over $ 800 I have lived with a headache in my right eye for a year. Today, after finally going to another eye doctor I found out that my prescription was completely wrong, I should never have been sold progressive lends and the lenses in my sunglasses weren’t even the same as my clear glasses! Complete and utter incompetence, a waste of time and money. And I’m not joking about the headaches caused by the gross incomplete either.

This was a great experience for me. Before I went to SingerSpecs, I had gone to a different eye doctor and had an awful experience. SingerSpecs went the extra mile for me by figuring out my insurance coverage(which my previous doc said he had done but SingerSpecs showed he didn’t!), taking their time with the fitting of my glasses, and crunching some numbers for the best deal. I highly recommend.

Singer Specs is the only place to go for your optical needs. The staff is wonderful, kind, accommodating and knowledgeable. One of their docs recently diagnosed a vision threatening condition in my eyes that needed immediate surgery. Buyer Beware — Do not buy the Groupon. The Good: — Fairly convenient hours — Nice enough assortment — Friendly optometrist The Bad: — Dishonest practices — Ridiculous pricing I saw the Groupon($ 49 for an exam and $ 200 worth of glasses) and called about an appointment. They were able to take me same day, and told me that they would offer the same deal in person if I didn’t buy the Groupon. I know that Groupon takes a 50% cut, so I thought I would help them out and do just that. Upon arrival, the guy at the front suggested a few frames based on my stated preferences. He was friendly. He knew that I was using the Groupon deal. The optometrist took me in quickly, completed the exam, and sent me back out to make my purchase. This part was excellent. When I sat down to make my purchase, he told me that the total would be $ 260. Excuse me? He had, without asking, added several features that I had not requested. I asked him what the least expensive option available was. He showed me some absolutely horrid glasses and told me that they would be $ 150. In other words, if you buy the Groupon you can still expect to spend at LEAST $ 100 more… and that’s if you are okay with terrible glasses. I ended up taking the prescription and ordering a cute pair from for $ 15(including shipping). I won’t be back. Side note: If you would like to use a Groupon at a reputable place, check out Innervision in Rittenhouse. I had a great experience there.

Worst customer service experience in my life. Particularly a male, middle aged staff member who couldn’t care less about his job or clients. I am surprise how they are in business with such poor customer experience. I would have never gone there if I would have read the horrible reviews.

I agree with the previous posts, this place is ridiculous. The staff is snobbish and not helpful at all. They seemed very annoyed that I came in with all 3 of my children, who are respectful and use manners. I was using a Groupon deal that ended up not being a «deal» at all. I ended up paying out more here than I would’ve at LensCrafters or any other chain eyeglass places. They didn’t even have my son try his glasses on when we picked them up to see if any adjustments needed to be made. Take your business elsewhere if you need glasses.

I’ve been a customer with Singer Specs for over 14 years. In the past I would have given them a 5 star rating. Sadly my last 3 to 5 years of experiences have been poor. Lens continually with problems. Different color coatings on lens. Peeling coatings, ordered and paid for digital… not digital. Top dollar paid, frames falling apart within weeks. Staff friendly and apoligetic. Just not producing a good quality product for the money. This pair I have now is still not correct and I have been back many, many times. Each time they remake them there is a new problem. Plus a huge amount of time wasted. Sad to see such a good place going is such a bad direction. I doubt I will purchase there again and I have purchased at least 25 pairs there in the past for my family. But as I said the past 3 – 5 years have been a big disappointment. Had I not had a long history with them I would not have continued this long but I kept hoping it would improve.
