Hong Kong Restaurant

This was my first visit here. It was on a Friday at 1pm after finishing a 5K race in town on New Year’s Day. It’s a small storefront more suited for take-​out but there were two tables and no customers so I ordered to stay. The counter lady was always smiling which is important for repeat business. I enjoyed my Hunan Beef while watching many drivers make illegal U-​turns across the street at the Chase Bank. The place is sort of dirty and messy but that doesn’t concern me too much. The white rice clumped together as they usually do but the main meal was fine as was the Wonton soup and at a low price.

I pass by Hong Kong everyday when I walk home from school so I thought I would try it. The prices were very reasonable so that’s why I have them 2 stars. The soup was very very salty, I felt like I was drinking the Dead Sea. The chicken in the soup was so processed it was gross. The pork lo-​main was also very salty. I recommend to go to Baumgarts in Ridgewood. It’s more expensive but it’s such good quality. I will never go back to Hong Kong again.

No, definitely NOT «exceptional!»
Decided to try this place based on it’s reviews and was sadly disappointed. The food basically matches with that of any other Chinese fast food joint.
The steamed dumplings tasted exactly the same as two other Chinese joints I’ve been to… (Seems they all order the same pre-​made dumplings from the same company!)
If you just need or want mediocre Chinese fast food, and this place close by, and open, then order away!
If you prefer better tasting food, I would recommend you find another spot.

The old owners were great, and so are the knew ones. If you live around the Fair Lawn area I always recommend getting Chinese take out from here. My family and I always order from here and there food is consistently good. It rarely lasts more than a couple days if there are any leftovers. I will always recommend Hong Kong as long as they keep making good food, for a good price and friendly service.

Tried this place for the first time tonight. Been looking for a good quality local chinese take-​out place for quite some time now. Haven’t been impressed until now!
My search is over. By far the best chinese I’ve had in the area.
I called to place the order ahead of time and picked it up. I must comment that the place itself was very clean inside. Food was ready on time. First impression = a good one.
I ordered the chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce, which is one of my fav Chinese dishes, and I must say it was extremely tasty! It was all white meat with lots of fresh broccoli, and the garlic sauce was more like a thicker glaze, both a bit sweet and garlicky as well. Delicious!
I also ordered the sesame chicken and the beef with red bean sauce.
The sesame chicken was equally as tasty as the chicken with garlic sauce.
The beef with red bean sauce wasnt spectacular, but it wasnt bad either. And surprisingly the beef wasnt too chewy or rubber-​like, which is the way I have found other beef dishes to be from other chinese restaurants.
* I was also pleased to find out that this restaurant does NOT use MSG in any of their dishes.
Only complaint I can say is that they skimped a bit on the meat in the chicken with garlic sauce and on the beef dish. Both had tons of veggies but not so much meat (I know its typical of most places).
However the sesame chicken was a good size portion of almost entirely chicken. So that made up for it a bit ;)

Been looking for a decent chinese place in the area. they are the best we have found, fast, not to pricey and good & tasty!

Good food but sometimes they make me order more since I’m a little further away. Just wish they were consistent with decision on making me order more or not. Give me a limit to go by so I don’t waste my time.

Very Good Chinese Food.
I’ve tried them all in Fair Lawn I think, and this one is my favorite. Not too greasy. Sesame Chicken was flavorful, and not coated thick and fatty like some other places. Egg Roll was nice and crisp and spare ribs were very meaty.
They are very good with delivery and take cash or credit.

They go out of their way to make sure that whatever dish you request is prepared the way you like it or need it.
The food is exceptional — not ever yesterdays what didnt make it is back for today —
The boneless ribs and sesame chicken we ordered were great and the egg rolls were crisp and not drippy —
They deliver and follow the timetable they give you & are responsible when preparing food to your requests.
Usually they are busy and almost always you will find happy customers there — they have a great balance of all the elements of a great place.
BEST CHINESE FOOD & TAKE OUT & DELIVERY IN FAIR LAWN — NO QUESTION!
