Otis Automotive

My car needed a new throttle sensor and Otis went ahead and found a used one for me so it was a lot cheaper. The place ended up bringing the wrong part but they made sure to get the correct one. I was able to drop my car off it was done within a couple of hours, and cheaper then they originally quoted me. Everyone was very friendly and they even cleaned the part before replacing it, hoping that would fix it and I wouldn’t have to shell out the extra cash for the part. This place is close to my house and I love supporting local business’s.

This mechanic is the bomb! Midas told our daughter than it would cost $ 1200 to get her car safely back on the road, but Otis did it for $ 200. They have ALWAYS done perfect work at the best price for us ever since, so this is a long overdue kudos to Otis! BTW – «Otis» is the mechanic’s dog, NOT the man!

I can honestly say I have never been happier with a mechanic. Bruce and his team are not only kind, thorough, and accurate, but they are also HONEST. I took my truck to the dealership (big mistake, I know) to have diagnostics done. They gave me an outrageous quote. So I took it to Bruce. He was able to do all the things and more than the dealer was going to for a fraction of the cost. Plus, he used better made parts. I will never go to another mechanic, Bruce is amazing.

Bruce has been our family mechanic for a long time. We were referred to him by a friend and ever since he’s been awesome. He always takes care of us and is honest and reliable. I went somewhere else once and was very unhappy with what I paid for and that my check engine light came on two days later! I’ll never go anywhere else. Bruce, you’re awesome!

I don’t really want to tell everyone how awesome this shop is because they’re already so busy BUT… this is, bar none, THE best shop in the world! Okay, maybe not the world because there’s no free pinball but it’s close and it IS that good!
There’s nothing about this shop, the owner, the employees, their service, their work, their speed and their ACCURACY that isn’t a 110% win! (Especially when your thermostat goes out on your way to work and they fix it when you’re at work!)
Everything I’ve ever had done here has been done correctly the first time in a timely manner with encouraging attitudes! I’ve NEVER come away feeling like I was taken advantage of or charged for unnecessary part or services and I love that when dealing with mechanics! I feel safe in my vehicle when I leave because I KNOW the guys here fixed my ride right the first time without creating a new problem for me to come back for! (Three cheers for that because I know you know what I’m talking about!)

Very quickly and efficiently determined what the problem was. We were out the door with the repair the same day even though he was short handed. Great place to have work done on older and newer vehicles.

3 generations of my family have been comin here to Bruce and his awesome team. After one unscheduled visit Bruce squeezed me in to his already tight schedule and had my car fixed flawlessly. Just getting my 60k done (more like 62k).

Otis Automotive is one of those «Eureka, I found it» places– an absolutely honest shop, run by one of the most knowledgable auto mechanics I’ve ever met. After the dealership told our son his Camry was beyond salvaging and ready for the junkyard, Bruce easily diagnosed and solved the problem at a modest cost and the car ran reliably for about 50k more miles. Bruce has also been endlessly patient and helpful with our 98 Volvo, when it would not pass all of the required smog tests, testing and driving and retesting it for readiness. He is the real deal, and I hope I never have to take any car I own anywhere else.

OUTSTANDING SERVICE & REPAIR. Finally found someone who is knowledgeable, honest, fair and charges reasonable prices. Have never met anyone as knowledgeable as Bruce. Took in my 14 year old Mitsubishi Eclipse and he immediately was able to diagnose the problem and knew where to get parts — one coming from Fresno — in a couple of days. Went more than the extra mile and even gave me a ride home and picked me up so I didn’t have to wait around while the work was being done. Bruce explained to me what he had done in language I could understand, and price charged was within a couple dollars of his intial quote. Professional, friendly and courteous staff on the front desk, Christine, and in the shop, too. He has a new long-​term customer. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Bruce is the man… and his crew isn’t so bad either. I’ve been here many times for repair and maintenance and Bruce and the crew have always taken their time to take care of my needs and concerns. From major repair to fluid changes, they’ll treat you right.

My family has been going to Bruce at Otis Automotive for over 15 years and he serviced 6 of our cars over that time period. Every experience we have had with them has been above and beyond. They are honest and straight to the point, no BS here. My engine in my 2008 Nissan blew and the dealership charged $ 200 for a diagnostic and $ 6500 for a new engine then went on to say Nissan would not cover a dime because I was 4 months and 1,000 miles over my warranty (sketchy?). Bruce knew right off the bat what was wrong, didn’t charge for a diagnostic, and put in a used engine for $ 3000 in four days. Again, honest and genuine and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Bruce and his staff are as good as it gets.

Best service around Bruce has a memory like a steel trap hadn’t been here in months he remembers my car and most importantly my name I will leave my car with him anytime

Had a few somewhat shady automotive related experiences since moving here. It usually takes a few before you find an honest repair shop unfortunately. I am SO glad I found this place. I recommend Otis Automotive to all my fellow automotively challenged individuals. There are no shyster creeps here. How refreshing! These guys are honest and they go above and beyond for their customers.

I have been taking my cars here since I started driving. My parents bring thier cars to Bruce and we all love him, I recently didnt pass smog, and I had no check engine light on or anything. Bruce tested all my sensors and found that my air flow sensor was dirty, so he cleaned and sent me on my way and it was only 95 bucks. It didnt end up passing smog the second time around, so I brought the car back. He determined the sensor must have been bad (since my O2 numbers went down significantly just from cleaning the sensor) so he said I needed a new one. I dropped my car off and went to pick up later in the day and he only charged me the price for the part! He is a great guy, and only uses the best quality parts, so sometimes they end up being a little more expensive then ones you can order elsewhere, but I wouldn’t ever take my car to any other place. I recommend otis automotive to everyone that asks me where to take thier cars. It’s quality and honesty at this place, which is so hard to find.

This guy is great! A real class act! He tells you exactly what you need and does not give you the BS. I like that. It’s rare to find an honest auto repair shop that will tell you what you do and do not need. Both my husband and I have taken both of our cars to get fixed and have not been disappointed with the service or the price.

We have been taking our vehicles to Bruce at Otis Automotive for over 8 years now. I have NEVER been disappointed. He is quick, clear, and even willing to give repair advice when my son is able to perform the work without the shop.

Straight shooter. Honest. I’ve had several little run-​ins with the old 96 Saturn. First was the alternator, most recently the linkage to my clutch.
Most of the problems Bruce has diagnosed over the phone and confirmed at the shop. He’s right every time and the solutions are inexpensive.
They are a small family owned enterprise, so they’re not super great about calling with updates on progress or delays in repairs. I am OK with this, but that is why it’s not 5 stars.
