I have been coming to Carmen on and off for years for multiple services, but mainly massages. She gives hands down the best massage I have had in town. She practices the ahiatsu method where she hangs from a bar and uses her feet to work the knots out. Don’t let that freak you out. It gets way deeper into your muscles than hands do. She offers traditional Swedish massages as well if ahiatsu is not your thing. Carmen is the sweetest so if you haven’t tried her out I highly recommend you do. Your back will thank you for it.

I wanted to do something special for our anniversary and we decided on the couples massage. Carmen was very friendly and professional over the phone, called me on a Saturday and booked us for Sunday. We went in for our massage in a very comfortable, candle-​lit room. I had the Ashiatsu massage with Carmen and my hubby had the regular (swedish I guess) massage with Bonnie. Carmen asked me many questions to ensure a good massage, where as my husband wasn’t asked anything. He fell asleep and I just felt like things went downhill from there. I noticed he was only getting his feet rubbed for a good part of the massage while he was sleeping. I had to go to the restroom, when I got back she was still rubbing his feet. I went to wake him and she said, «let him sleep, poor thing.» And kept saying, «he likes getting his feet rubbed, maybe you should do this for him.» He was passed out and couldn’t tell she was even in the same room with him. I loved my massage, although the salt scrub was very rushed and there was no body shampoo, (as stated in the package) we had to run home and bathe as we were very sticky. Carmen is super professional and even found problem areas, Bonnie was less convincing. So 5 stars for Carmen and 3 for Bonnie balances out to 4. I would go back for a massage with Carmen, but I didn’t feel I got my moneys worth for the Couple’s Package.

Wish I could say something about the services provided at this business — but I cannot. This is because I called to make an appointment and got an answering machine or voice mail. I left a detailed message with my call back number but never heard back. That was over a month ago. Too bad — the rates shown on the web site are very reasonable for a massage.

So far the best massage I ever had! :) It’s hard but I don’t feel like I got beaten up with bruises. lol Carmen is really good! You have to try and you will understand what I’m saying. :D

This is N. California’s best kept secret. A little spa with a 5 star massage and relaxation like you’ve never experienced! I give it the highest recommendation.

I came here back in Feb 2006. It was one of the best massages I have ever had. And I am comparing this to ones at top rated hotels and spas.
My masseuse was Carmen, I believe she is the owner. I had the 90 minute regular massage. Carmen incoprated some Ashiatsu (massage using the bare feet). I actually couldn’t tell she was using her feet until I realized she was holding on to beams for support and balance.
I have not been back since because I live in the Bay Area and it’s a bit far. However, I would make a trip just for the massage.
Sunshine Day Spa is by far not a luxurious place, nice rooms but very simple.
If rating the massage alone, it would be 5 stars. Since I’m rating the entire experience, it’s a 4 star since the atmosphere is a little too bare bones.
