The only thing this hotel has going for them is their low rate, but everything else including the service is terrible! The management from what I noticed was terrible and based off of the rooms aesthetics, they don’t care about the guests staying. But again, it’s alright for the price.

It’s a two-star hotel so you’ll get the minimum basics of a semi-clean room and bed. The shower and toilet area is small and isn’t anything fancy, but it’s just fine for a one night stay.

For starters, this hotel at 616 N. Broad Street is actually called the«Broad Street Inn»(formerly the«Comfort Inn» and then briefly the«Fairborn Inn»). Details aside, you’ll still scattered«Comfort Inn» branded doormats and signs. If you’re looking for luxury, look elsewhere. But if you’re looking for a decent place to stay that’s affordable, safe, relatively clean, and offers(slow-to-medium speed, non-password protected) wireless internet, you’ve found the place. My husband and I were looking for exactly that and needed last-minute reservations. We booked at $ 50 a night, and while the place definitely had distinct pros and cons, we’d stay there again.(That’s more than we could say for our previous $ 30/night hotel out closer to the airport.) — Check-in: Fast and friendly. The lady behind the counter was cheerful and speedy. I’d estimate about 5 minutes from walking in the door to walking away with our room keys. — Lobby: Not somewhere you’d want to «hang out» per se, but it’s modestly decorated. There’s a small dining room where I assume breakfast is served, but we missed this daily(no hours posted anywhere). One computer was available for public use but without a public printer. They can print boarding passes or essentials like that behind the counter, but willingness depends on who’s back there when you ask. While there wasn’t anyone actively smoking, the entire lobby and main hallway reeked of cigarette smoke. Luckily our non-smoking bedroom smelled relatively well-insulated. — Room: It took about 3 – 5 tries with the room key to get the door open, but that may have just been our door. Our non-smoking room smelled like a breath of fresh air compared to the common spaces. There was no closet or safe — just a wardrobe. Bedding was clean without any signs of bedbugs. We were happy with the microwave, mini-fridge, and ability to control the room temperature. Bathroom had a jacuzzi that we opted not to use. Shower was fine, but water pressure was poor. — Customer Service: We interacted with 3 people during our stay. The woman working overnight was awful. After ringing the bell at the counter twice and waiting 5 minutes for her to turn around in acknowledgement, she curtly asked what we wanted and all but barked the response at us. We asked the same question to the day-time employee and received a courteous response. Aside from her, all staff at the hotel was very pleasant. All in all, we’d stay there again for a short trip but would make sure to book a non-smoking room and avoid the grumpy overnight worker.

I have to admit I was a little worried going for this hotel. I have stayed in Beavercreek/Fairborn before and spent over $ 150 per night at similar hotels. I Googled Fairborn hotels and found this one . The price said $ 38/night. Say what? I booked it for my recent trip. After booking I thought I would check the Comfort Inn web site just in case it was cheaper. Surprisingly, it was not shown on their web page. I called and a man answered Hello. I asked what number this was and he provided the phone number. Was it someone’s house? I asked if it was Comfort Inn and he said not any more. It is now the Fairborn Inn. I googled that and most reviews gave it 1 star and described it as dirty and outdated. That’s what caused my nervousness. When I pulled up to the hotel, and it was old. Most of the neighboring businesses were closed, but it was across from Wright Patterson AFB. The parking lot was empty and I was still nervous. One review I read said it took more than 20 minutes to check in. I received my keys and paperwork in less than 5. The carpet is old and there are no elevators. I did occassionally have trouble with the key, but they eventually worked. When I opened the door, I was surprised — the room was clean and looked like other Comfort Inn hotels I have stayed in before. The bathroom was okay — the sink water not so hot, but the shower was good. One day the television did not work(which was also in a prior review). I called and the man came up to check it out. He couldn’t get it to work, but he returned carrying a big television and set it up in my room. Last night when I came back the bathroom lights worked, but none of the other lights, television, or the AC were working. The power apparently was out, but it returned on later that night. I would recommend skipping breakfast. It was just cereal and there is a McDonalds and Wendy’s within walking distance. All in all the stay was good. Yes, it was old and maybe a bit past peak, but the customer service was good, the wireless network was operational, the room was cool(except those few hours without power), and the price was unbeatable at at price. There are deals for week long stays too if you are there for a while. Don’t be scared — give it a try!
