I’ve been going to this place since it opened, it is one of my favorite sushi places in the area. It has for me replaced Burke fortune house. It is on par with Sushi Prince off of 236. The sushi is delicious and the staff are friendly and attentive. If they mess up an order by accident, they are quick to fix the problem. I would highly recommend trying this place out.

This is the first time that I have been to Taeji Sushi. I was with 4 other people at our table. The servers took our order fairly quickly and checked up on us quite often and refilled our waters. So overall, service was good. Only problem I had was the food. I ordered a Chirashi Don; it was okay. I’ve had Chirashi at many restaurants, but the sashimi here was a bit watery, but I enjoyed the salmon. There was plain white sushi rice at the bottom and few small assorted sashimi pieces on top. It was kind of plain in taste and presentation. The chicken kaarage was a huge disappointment; they tasted like tiny frozen chicken nuggets with what tasted like a bottle katsu/bbq sauce from the store. for $ 7, I at least expected a bit more than 7 small pieces. Lastly, the Curry Don that my friend got was terrible… there was a lot of it, lots of potatoes, barely any chicken, and two big raw broccoli pieces. But all in all, the curry itself literally tasted like instant curry that I’ve bought from the store. My friend barely made a dent in it and I don’t blame him since it wasn’t even decent. I rarely ever write a review, but for the price of the food, it wasn’t worth it at all. Only thing I liked from the whole dinner were the few salmon sashimi pieces. So, service is good, but food(at least from the ones my friend and i had) weren’t even decent.

I’m a huge a sushi guy and I know quality when I taste it. A lot of their sashimi tasted a little frozen. Their sea urchin also didn’t seem fresh. When I asked the waitress where they get their sea urchin, she seemed a little clueless. They will get 3 stars for their Korean dishes

We just had a wonderful dinner and served by a very friendly staff(they even iced our leftovers for the drive to our next stop). We would love to come back but living in California might make it difficult. The presentation and quality were top notch.

Sushi spot right across the street from my house. Pretty decent, I’d say! The inside is clean, the servers and chefs were very friendly. We went in thinking that the closing hour was at 10pm, but it turned out to be 9:30pm, with only 30 minutes left. The servers and chefs reassured us that it’s okay, and let us take our time with our food. We felt bad so we tried to finish our food asap, but they provided excellent service until we left, and the sushi was great as well.

My second favorite sushi place in the fairfax area. Very nice and attentive staff. We came in so late thinking that they close at 10, when they close at 9:30, but they let us stay and eat. How kind and generous of them. We got the Paradise Platter which come with I think it was either 60 or 80 prices of sushi. You are gonna need a party to finish this boat. It literally comes in a boat. The boat comes with a nice spider roll that used real soft shell crab meat, as well as California, avocado, cucumber, spicy tuna, spicy salmon, crab, and 2 more rolls that I do not know the name of. The spider roll, spicy tuna, and one of the unnamed rolls that had like 3 different fishes and avocado on top were the highlight of the boat. But every piece was very delicious! I would get this boat again in a heart beat! SOLIDSUSHISPOT!!! I’LLBEBACK(Arnold voice)!!!

I love TaeJi. I go there often for lunch. The people are fantastic. They know me and they are always very friendly and helpful. I find the service to be exceptional. The fish is fresh. I also love the seaweed salad. The new owners are really good, they seem like experts at their craft. I highly recommend TaeJi.

I’ve only been once, for lunch, and I got the sushi lunch 2 pieces of salmon, 2 tuna, 1 snapper, 1 crab, and 1 shrimp, and a California roll. Quality: All of the fish was fresh and delicious. Texture perfect. I really enjoyed the crab. Looked like a piece of king crab leg. Never had that before. The rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Even the cucumber and avocado was delicious. Everything was well portioned. Value: $ 10!!! This is at least $ 15 worth of sushi. And that would be a good deal. My girlfriend got the roll combo, which she gets everywhere. It is cheaper here and there is significantly more fish in Taeji’s rolls than anywhere else we have been. We had been going to sushi prince quite a bit but it’s lost its allure after a few less than stellar experiences. This is place is cheaper and better in my opinion.

I usually like to go to Blue Ocean because their Ramen is the absolute best. They’re just a bit of a drive for me. Taeji is just down the road from me and while I was at the post office, I decided to give it a try I ordered a bunch of sushi, which came with miso soup and salad. Both my sushi lover friend and I were incredibly pleased. Great sushi.(Better than my regular spot? Quite possibly.) Cute atmosphere. Excellent service. When I’m in the mood for sushi, there is no longer a need to drive all the way to Fairfax. Taeji is certainly my new sushi spot.

We had a great experience. The sushi was fresh and delicious. Service was top notch. Our waitress was personable and friendly with out hovering. My husband ordered the Udon and even though sushi is my favorite, I couldn’t stop asking to eat more of his meal than mine. The prices are a little high but good quality sushi is worth it. We will definitely be back!

Very clean restaurant with excellent service. The dumpling soup was the best I ever had. The sushi was fresh and made well. My only complaint is that their specialty roll options were good but not great.

First visit since the change in name etc. I really like the more open layout and access to the sushi bar. I also like the expanded menu, including the wine and beer options. The place was quite busy and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Our servers were sweet and attentive, the fish was fresh and well prepared, and the portions were ample. Overall good value and we will definitely be back.

Worst customer service i ever received! Tried to ordered sushi for delivery. They said they cant deliver because they are busy at the moment and its a rush hour traffic. Person on the phone was unprofessional and rude. I never heard such a response from the restaurant who offer delivery service. I understand the delivery may take longer because of traffic(if any), but to refuse to do delivery completely, it’s ridiculous! No business can survive with such unprofessional service. They may have good sushi, but they need to learn how to take care of the clients and always perform service they are offering, no matter how busy they are!!!

I eat sushi almost twice a week and I love TaeJi Sushi. I know it’s a sin but I get it delivered and they are always super quick, and everything is always fantastic. The quality of their fish is the best in the area, the rice is perfectly seasoned, and the sushi/nigiri is well formed with a good ratio of fish to rice. If the delivery quality is this good, imagine what the sushi is like when you are sitting in front of the sushi bar! I also like their Gyu Don bowl if I’m really hungry. Their prices and portions are fair and I order from them once a week and have never been disappointed. And thank you guys for delivering!

Took 20 minutes for soup. Then sushi order came out wrong. Service is the biggest problem. Same as the the restaurant before. Valentines Day and 2 servers — 1 of them handling carry out orders on the phone. If you like the food, call it in and dont suffer through the service. Sushi is average

I should have posted this sooner, but I had saved it in my drafts. The first time I went here was in the beginning of December for a birthday dinner and I was throughly surprised. Customer service is lacking in the restaurant business(duh, right?) and this place made up for it. The atmosphere was relaxing and roomy(it was a bit hot at first, and the waitress opened up the door to get a nice breeze). I wish I remembered her name because she was so kind! The minute she found out we were newbies, she brought out a plate of delicious sushi to try and even included free dessert for the birthday boy. She took time to answer questions and talked with us about the other sushi restaurants in the area. The food was delicious and fresh. I’m not big on sushi most of the time so I don’t find it very filling usually. I could hardly finish my plate I was so full.

To start, I used to be a huge fan of Sushi Jin before TaeJi Sushi took over. My friend and I decided to visit after being in the area for dinner last night. We walked into the empty restaurant but I guess it’s expected for a Tuesday night. We ordered the spicy salmon roll, crunch roll, and kamikaze roll. I really really enjoyed the crunch and kamikaze rolls. Very fresh and well-made. However, the spicy salmon roll tasted as if it was made at least an hour before. The rice was hard and there was just way too much sauce on it making it overwhelming enough for me not to taste the actual fish. I just have to say that I don’t think the quality of the spicy salmon roll was as good as it could’ve been. But! I’m glad to say that service was excellent. My glass of water was never empty and the waitress checked up on us often to see if we were enjoying our meal. A problem I had with Sushi Jin in the past was the service. I would definitely come back in the future!

Delicious. Very fast. Good experience. Took care of the kids and fed them quickly so they weren’t waiting. Off-menu items were equally as good as the sushi(lettuce wraps, soup & salad, etc).

I went there for lunch and had the sushi bento and the Maryland roll. There was no one else eating there at the time so the food was prepared quickly. The service was average but the food was pretty good. The décor in this restaurant is nice and not over done which I liked.

One of the best sushi restaurants I’ve visited! The prices are reasonable and the sushi was extremely fresh! We even received miso soup on the house which is always nice. Their seaweed salad was very tasty which is usually a good indicator for sushi restaurants. The waitresses were very nice and prompt, although we were the only customers at the time. The special and common rolls my girlfriend and I tried were all incredible; good sizes and not too much rice. We will definitely be back! This used to be another sushi restaurant, but I’m assuming just a manager change because the menu looked the same. Either way definitely give them a try.

The service was the best part! They were really friendly when we walked in and extremely attentive when we were seated. They have a wide variety of sushi and I really liked how there was a lot of variety in the special rolls too. The menu had a bunch of items and was well catered to people who are vegetarian. They were also really accommodating. We ordered a vegetarian yaki soba which was huge and it tasted amazing. The sauce was a unique taste and it was really good. Usually we put a little bit of soy sauce on it, but this one didn’t need any at all! The rolls were really good as well. The fish was nice and fresh and I can’t wait to go back and try some more different sushi. The prices were also very good! The quality was definitely worth the price!

DEFINITELYFRESH!!! First of all I worked in a sushi restaurant for several years. I know good sushi. This is a hidden gem in Fairfax and if you appreciate fresh and flavors –this is the spot to try! I always look for new owners of places as they try to wow the crowds with the best culinary work. The chef and staff here are very amiable and theres a great positive vibe. The presentation is precise. The prices are very accommodating for the quality you get here. I hope that it stays the same for the long term. I can’t believe the quality and creativity — -! I had a range of sashimi including the salmon and mackerel and it was extremely fresh and the cuts of flesh were very thick. I have yet to find a place that does sushi this well in the area! He even recut pieces I forgot to mention that were sashimi and not nigiri. Very generous portions size and again. Floored by the quality…

Love the sushi place in our neighborhood we were frequent with the old owners but I must say the new owner Johnny is so very funny and. personable. What a great guy. The food that my husband and son and I had was quite excellent I would highly recommend this place! We will be back often as we were when it was Sushi Jin . Spread the word neighbors! You will luv it!
