Excellent food(salmon kabob was so delicious) and super friendly and attentive service! The owner, Ray, will ensure that you have a great experience. Plus, they have dance performances: family friendly, classy bellydance shows on Saturday nights!

The best Persian restaurant in the DMV area. All foods are prepared with fresh ingredients without any preservatives. Great customer service and nice environment. Definitely recommend!

Tried this restaurant for the first time today. The food was good, had koobideh and ghormeh sabzi. The owner was very friendly and I would definitely come back again — next time on a Saturday night for the belly dancing show.

Ray, The person you are referring to that attempted to leave your restaurant by not paying his bill was not me. You really need to get your facts straight before making assumptions. I ordered an appetizer for my daughter and fries, remember?! The person that tried to leave and cause a problem did not have any children. They complained that your service is very slow. You said to everyone that the alcohol is complimentary. But I did not order any alcohol or drink alcohol, only a small cup of tea and water. Also, I did not order Kubideh, so you really don’t know who you are complaining to. I am not aware of what others ordered, including Mitra. If you had an issue with people not paying their bill, that’s not my business or problem. I didn’t pay their bill. Unfortunately, when you deal with the Iranian community, you should expect dishonesty. You and your establishment are not anything special, which is why I will not recommend it to anyone. If you think that someone is shoplifting in your restaurant, reporting it to the police rather than bitching about it would be a wise decision. In addition, I would strongly encourage you to take an English class because your command of the English language is quite pathetic.

Came for lunch as I spotted this new place driving by. Had lunch with a quinoa tabouli salad and falafel plate. The salad was salty but owner accommodated with a new one and was good. The falafel lunch plate was handsomely served with rice and salad. The sauces served, hot and tahini, were spot on. Im coming back to try other dishes.

Just finished an exceptionally good gnocchi bolognese meal at this beautiful place. Pleasant interior with an incredibly friendly and attentive owner accents the delicious food. Would 10⁄10 recommend.

Let me start of by saying that this place has a lot to offer for both Vegetarian’s and Meat lovers. By that, I mean their menu is literally diverse rather than having a vegetarian section like most restaurants do to satisfy those that do not eat meat. So, if you are looking for a kabob place that actually considers veggie dishes in their menu rather than a second thought this is the place for you. Alright, onto the review. Me and my girlfriend came here for the very first time after the many positive reviews. We were welcomed, who I believe is the owner of the restaurant, to our table. First off, customer service plays a HUGE part with me almost more than the food itself. The gentlemen was fantastic bar non. You feel like a friend rather than another transaction. It’s really rare nowadays so customer service was clearly 10⁄10. Secondly, the food is simply fresh, tasty and blew my mind. I’m a big fan of Kabob’s(Got the Chicken Kabob) and let me tell you, the best I’ve had in the Northern Virginia area. It’s presented in such a clean look and doesn’t taste like it was microwaved. I can tell their chief’s are trained very well and each dish they create is given passion. This is my first review for any place, so it’s saying a lot considering I’ve had such a great time here. I can’t wait to return and try it their Hookah menu. Happy New Year and thank you once again!

My friend and I drive by this place all the time and we finally decided we would eat here during lunch. It looks very run down from the outside but it’s actually very neat and spacious on the inside. We were recognized as soon as we walked in by a waitress who was extremely nice and humorous. We ordered the kabob platter and let me tell you people, they have the BEST kabobs in town! Plus, our cups were always full. I can’t wait to go back.

Lots of great reviews and a curiosity about persian food brought me here. The idea of a kabob to me seems quite boring and bland but I thought all the reviews might prove me wrong. I got the kubbideh, and alas, it’s just meat on a stick! The bread was terrible, and the salad was basically iceberg lettuce with a packet of commercial ranch dressing. Yuck! The folks running the place were VERY nice, so if you happen to like this sort of food, it might be just what you’re looking for. But for me, I just don’t get it. Bland! At least make some decent bread to lift up the boring, dry meat. And give it a good raita or coriander chutney or SOMEthing to add flavor and moisture. But if you like kabobs, you might like this place. I think I just don’t understand the allure of kabobs.

Aabee is an odd little place– first, it looks like a NJ diner that has been converted into a Mediterranean restaurant(much of this conversion has taken the form of signs posted everywhere). Second, despite the fact that it was a Saturday night and only two other tables were occupied, the service was incredibly slow and confused. It took a very long time to get the basics — water, plates and utensils, another basket of bread. All of that said, once you get beyond the aesthetics and the poor service, the food is pretty good, though I would suggest skipping the appetizers(a small plate of icy cold hummus, for example, didn’t excite us) except for the sambusas, and move right to the main courses. Of everything we sampled, the salmon kabob platter with the dill rice and a salad is fantastic(the salmon was cooked to perfection) and the chicken kabob was equally good. I’m not sure it’s good enough to warrant a trip from DC to Fairfax, but certainly worth checking out if you’re in NOVA. And, finally, a word about the belly dancing. This was sort of an odd touch, I thought, especially given the emptiness of the restaurant. The dancer seemed super nice but seeing her shimmy around was vaguely embarrassing. Perhaps with a bigger crowd, it would have felt more festive and less weird.

My husband and I have been there about three times and we have loved it more each time the owner is a sweetheart and the waitstaff is very nice. The food is extremely good I usually get the chicken kebab and the rice with carrots and raisins and it is the best I’ve ever had! The food taste very fresh and very flavorful. The owner explained to us that he does not put any MSG and his foods Which is very important to us we found out. We will be going back again and again. We highly recommend this restaurant if you want great food and friendly staff. :) Thank you

After reading the rave reviews of this restaurant I had to go! Went with two friends tonight and the restaurant did not disappoint. Two of us are vegetarians; we had a large variety of food choices. We were trying to decide on an appetizer when the owner suggested the appetizer sampler, which was a great idea for us. We had hummus, some vegetable things that looked like tiny empanadas(my favorite thing!), stuffed grape leaves, tabouleh, eggplant dish, falafel, and really good bread. The sampler was the perfect size for the three of us. Even though we were slightly full from the appetizers, we weren’t ready to quit eating this delicious food! So we ordered two entrees to split: a falafel platter and a veggie kabob. Both dishes came with rice or salad; we chose the rice because we knew it would be delicious.(And of course it was.) The veggie kabob had a lot of different vegetables, such as green and red peppers, zucchini, onions, tomato, and mushrooms. Everything was very tasty and grilled to perfection. The falafel platter was every bit as good. And the icing on the cake? It was very reasonably priced, including a bottle of wine. The owner made us feel very welcome, and I will definitely be back soon with my family!

The food is not fresh. Had the chicken Kebob. Food was very bland. Tasted like it came out of the microwave. Don’t understand some of the excellent/good reviews for this restaurant. Extremely pricing considering the poor quality of the food and the location of the restaurant. Will not be going back.

After reading many reviews on Unilocal,I decided it was time to cure my craving for Persian food. My plan of attack, a quick in and out to order the goods, and bring them back to my girl cave. I entered the restaurant, named Aa’bee according to the signage and menus, and was heartily greeted by a very nice man, I believe was the manager or owner. He offered me a seat and drink while I decided what to order. I ordered the Lamb Kabob, an extra side of rice, an order of tabbouleh, and a slice of mango cheesecake. I’ll start with the mango cheesecake. Of what I ordered, I liked it the least. That said, it wasn’t bad, just not as cheesecakey as I’d imagined in my mind. That’s the worst I can say about my experience. The lamb was perfectly cooked and so very tender. The tabbouleh was fresh and flavourful. If you look at the picture of my entire order, you’ll see one of my cats letting me know he approved of my choices, and wanted to help me eat my dinner. He gives this restaurant 5 paws!

Delicious! My husband had the Koobideh with rice and salad. I had the Shishlik with rice and salad. Both were very well prepared. For dessert he had saffron ice cream which was AMAZING. I went there expecting nothing special and left the place so happy we stopped by. Will be back for sure. It was the first time I had really good Persian food in USA.

This place doesn’t seem that attractive when you are driving by, but don’t let looks deceive you! My hubby and I gave this place a chance after reading the great reviews. We were very pleasantly surprised. We were welcomed with a big smile and we sat outside. Yes! They have an outdoor patio! The food was amazing. Fresh lavash bread was served to start. I got the chicken kabob with zereshk polo and it was tender, juicy, and very flavorful just like my family makes at home. My hubby got the salmon kabob and almost ate the whole thing! He loved it! We also got the mast O kihar(yogurt) and it was exactly how I like it. I will be telling my friends all about this place and I can’t wait to come back and try the other dishes.
