Best salteñas I always grab them for me and my coworker one the way to work. I love their cheese bread and other pastries. Too. I love their lomo saltado and other Latin American dishes. The flavor is dank and you get a lot of food for a good price. So do your self a favor and start eating here!

I love Bolivian food and this place didn’t disappoint. I had the beef salteña which was quite good(even though the potatoes were slightly overcooked). I also had the silpancho which was quite good and a big serving(which I couldn’t finish). A little bit on the pricey side for what I’m used to with Bolivian food(21 $ for a salteña, my entrée and a soda). Also, the seating area for lunch was pretty crowded and tight but the servers were very nice and attentive. Overall it was pretty good and I would recommend it to people looking for good Bolivian food.

Love love love! Had my first chicken salteña today and it blew me away! Almost like the American pot pie but way better and less pastry-like. Also got the cheese bread which is amazing especially when warmed and tried a cuñape(bread ball made of yucca flour and cheese). Can’t wait to go back again! The service was excellent and I felt very welcomed. You will see me again and I will bring my friends! Gracias por darme la oportunidad de probar comida tan deliciosa me gustó mucho.

Over the last year, we’ve tried almost everything on the menu and the pastries that were available on the shelves. We’ve decided that everything else is just okay but the saltenas are always good. They didn’t carry beef for a while but it’s available again. We came back from a skiing trip this morning and stopped by to pick up 2 chicken and 2 beef saltenas to go around 10:30. After we got home, all 4 were bone dry with no juice whatsoever. I suspect that they were leftovers from the day before and reheated. The egg inside was just nasty. When we order saltenas, we order a dozen or more and call ahead so they’re normally fresh but this morning’s bad experience will make us think twice about going again. The only advantage that it has is that it’s close to us so we don’t have to trek all the way to Luzmila’s in Falls Church.

I seriously love this place. Their saltenas are amazing. Beef is mr fave. I been going here for years now. I usually come here for saltenas though, never really tried anything else. It’s very popular so you have to call ahead to see if they have any or reserve them. They run out fast, but they make it through out the day. The other day I was on my way there so I called in to ask if they had anymore, there was 7 left. I arrived around 30 mins before their closing time and the lady before me bought all 7 of the saltenas. The cooker came out of the kitchen and told me about tu-la-malas. He told me it’s even better than saltenas and basically similar, saltenas are baked while these are fries. I usually don’t try new things easily but I went ahead and ordered 2, and it was soooo good!!! Everyone here is nice, def going to always come to this place for saltenas and the new fried ones I tried.

Had the beef saltenha, basically it’s like a beef pot pie, little to the sweet side… it was good but not great. Also ordered the Lengua special, a stewed beef tongue dish with a lot of flavor! The sauce reminded me of my childhood days that I spent in South America. Also ordered the Milanesa Napolitana… Humm the beef was a little too thing and dry… however, I’ll surely go back because overall speaking, the authentic taste is there!

My Bolivian friend told me about this place and while I wouldn’t recommend it for a sit down meal, definitely try it out for their saltenas and empanadas — they have me addicted. The reason I wouldn’t go back there for an actual meal is the place is super tiny and it gets crowded really quick, and it’s very uncomfortable. Plus I wouldn’t say the food is necessarily worth feeling like someone’s watching over you while you eat, so clearly my 4 star rating is solely for their saltenas and empanadas. I usually get chicken saltena and cheese empanada — perfect for breakfast if I’m too lazy to cook myself hahaha. The place is clean and the staff are friendly. *Saltenas and empanadas are basically a type of pastry filled with various ingredients like chicken or beef in sweet or spicy juice with potatoes, raisins, peas, eggs, spinach, etc.

Excellent! We were in the area around 10 am and I was in the mood for lunch. Yes, I wanted an early lunch: P I’ve had this place bookmarked forever and to my lovely surprise my Unilocal app said they open at 7 am. I figured they’d offer breakfast and some baked goods. Upon entering, the cashier was super sweet and attentive. She told me I could order lunch if I wanted. Super! I told her it was our first time here and if she could suggest some things for us to try. We tried their Salteñas, Silpancho, and a variety of baked goods. Everything we tried was a home run. The Silpancho had white rice, fried potatoes, a large thin slice of breaded beef cutlet, fried eggs, and Pico de Gallo. It was a delicious combination. The Salteñas had an awesome crust, not overly doughy and toasty on the outside. We tried the chicken and beef ones, the meats were juicy and super flavorful. Dip it into the spicy green sauce it comes with, excellent. The baked goods were all fresh, not overly sweet, and had a lovely consistency. Some of our favorites were the Tres Leches Cake, Cunape(Yuca Cheese Bread), and Alfajor. We will definitely be back to try some more of their menu items.

I was introduced to this place a few months ago by the friend who said I must try saltenas. My first time trying them here, was quite an experience. They were delightful but it was interesting at first to try because on the outside, it is a baked pastry, but on the inside it is like a beef or chicken stew. Together, they make quite a combo. Although I was not used to it at first due to sweetness of the pastry, they grew on me and I really enjoy them now. It’s weird though to think sweet and savory can come together, but hey the French make it work with crepes right? Anyways after the first time, having takeout, I have come back a few more times to try out other items on the menu. Honestly, I think they have HUGE portions here. One person alone cannot finish, unless well, you have a big appetite. The prices range from about $ 12 – 20 for entrée dishes. Appetizers and soups are on the lower end. I think it’s a reasonable price for the portion size and the taste is great! I have ordered the Silpancho, which is a Bolivian dish, that is basically a thin slice of beef over a bed of rice and potatoes and covered in diced tomato, onions, and peppers, and then topped with some sunny side up eggs. This dish is amazing!~ All the tastes of each and the flavors really go well together. It’s a great way to get all your carbs and protein along with some veggies too! Well other than that, I have had the Sopa de Mani, which is a peanut and potato soup with a beef broth as the base and then topped with some fried potato strips. It sounds interesting too doesn’t it? Well my friend who is Bolivian recommended this dish to me and it was really nice, especially on a cold rainy day. I have also tried the Piqué Macho, which is another Bolivian dish, with bite-sized pieces of beef, french fries, chopped peppers, onions, tomatoes, some sausages, and boiled egg. As usual, the dishes here never fail to amaze me. The service here, I would give it 3⁄5 stars. Some days, they are very attentive and helpful, but on some days, it can be just okay. Sometimes when it’s a busy day for them, I guess you have to expect to wait, which is fine, but I think they should be more communicative with their customers. They could just say something along the lines of, «I’m sorry there aren’t any tables available at the moment, but the wait should be about ___minutes.» While it’s understandable since this place is very small, they should make customers feel more welcome is what I’m trying to say. Other than that, during dinner, the dining service is okay. They bring out the entrees and dishes you ordered but they rarely come back to check on you, and whenever you need something, you sort of have to go out of your way to get their attention. It’s a nice small place where you can not only dine in and try out Latin American cuisine, but it’s also a bakery, where they have an assortment of fine pastries and cakes to choose from as well. I’ve never tried them myself, but I hope to return to try one day. The atmosphere is nice and homey, a lot of people bring their families here. I would recommend trying if you’re in the area!

Have wandered by this place several times and finally decided to try it out for lunch. What a wonderful surprise! Affordable, delicious authentic South American cuisine! I had the Tranca Pencho sandwich. Very good. Service was fast and the food fresh. Friendly service with a smile. Will be back soon to try their empanada, piqué macho and chicharrones

SUPER tasty, authentic food. The place is tiny, so make sure you get there early unless you plan to carry out! We had both the beef and chicken saltenas; the dough is slightly sweet, which offsets the spicy filling nicely. Everything is very fresh, well flavored, and cooked perfectly. It’s definitely something different, but is very affordable, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a tasty place to stop in on the weekend.

The style and the food is good, and the portion is very big. Very good for the price. But the steak is over cooked, I recommend to ask how do you like your steak done?

Muy rico!!!, buena atención, buena variedad de comida latina, solo tendría que mejorar el pan de bono, el jugo de naranja que no es natural y agregar arepitas para tener las 5 estrellas —— Delicious, good service, good variety of Latin food, only Its has to improve pan de bono, orange juice and add arepitas

Came with my sister and her boyfriend, had heard good things about this small place. I ordered the Pollo Saltado, Chicken Salteña, and had a Horchata. The Pollo Saltado dish was a bit saltier than I liked, though it was still very good. My sister had asked for the yellow sauce for me to try with the dish, but they apparently only have the green sauce. The Chicken Salteña was good too, although I’m not a fan of dense bread(the filling was very good though). The Horchata was nice as well, the first time I’ve tried it. I liked looking at all of their bakery options, will have to come back when I’m in the area.

I wrote the review for the wrong spot. This is the spot I have been to several times this week. Got my coworkers asking where did you get that from. Didn’t you have the same thing yesterday.

I would have given 5 stars before, but prices increased by 25−30% in past 2 years with food portions getting smaller. Unfortunately it seems this is standard across all Bolivian restaurants.

Super cute shop with some seating inside and very affordable prices. — Saltenas: Tried both the chicken and beef versions. Both were brimming with meat and veggies. I really liked the chicken one — had a lot of dark meat with amazing flavor.(Watch out for cartilage!) The beef one was also good and tasted a lot like beef stew(not something I like that much so this is personal preference). They had a seafood saltena but were out of them. — Humita: Best cornbread I’ve ever had! Wow! This was amazing! Full of flavor and also some whole bits of corn. — Tres Leche Cake: Really good. Somehow the parts just under the cream layers are a bit soggy — in a good way, like rum cake. Yum! Staff were very kind and patient. Definitely plan to be back to try some of their other items.

The Good: –Their baked goods are basically the shiznit and how they earn their stars! –The owner’s Bolivian but they randomly have Korean Bulgogi on the menu –The Pao De Queijo(Brazilian name) or Cunape(Bolivian name) is bangin’ –Clean and well maintained and goes against the stereotypical hole-in-the-wall image of these types of places. yet food is good. –Friendly service –Grilled steak I ordered was cooked just right, eggs were also cooked perfectly. –They use Jasmine rice, my favorite type of rice. –Huge portions The Bad: –The steak dish I got was under seasoned. –I didn’t eat much of the french fries served with my dish b/c they put the steak and tomato sauce on top and I like my french fries crispy –The salad was no bueno Go for baked goods like cheese bread, tres de leches and Bolivian Saltenas.

Discovered this place on Amazon Local and decided to buy the deal and try it out. I ordered the silpancho and was surprised at how big the portion was! I loved the combination of the steak, tomatoes, and eggs. So flavorful! I came here for a second time to try the saltenas since it was highly recommended on Unilocal. At first bite, it thought the crust was way too doughy and sweet for me. But the inside is delicious! I had to knock off a star due to service: I came here the second time to get an order of saltenas to go. The workers at the cashier completely ignored me while they were talking to each other(probably a new hire still training). Regardless, I had to jump in and asked to order which is not great customer service on their part.

Oh I am in love with this place. Delicious food, big portion, reasonable price, friendly staff! It’s a very small restaurant with limited seating. We came for dinner. I had the highly recommended silpancho, and my friends had some seafood dish and roasted chicken dish… I’m embarrassed to say that I was so focused on my food that I had no idea what the rest ordered. The steak was breaded and had a layer of diced tomato, onion, and pepper. I don’t usually like too much raw onion, but this is amazing! I almost finished all my onions! The portion is huge and I had half of left to take home after stuffing myself. I also tried their chicken saltenas(they were out of beef). It’s a bit spicy inside but super super duper delicious!!! I wanted to order more to take home but they were all out by then. :( My boyfriend came here for their lunch special after I told him about this place, and he was mindblown by how good their food is. We’re definitely coming back for more!!!

The chicken and beef saltenas here are amazing! I personally prefer the chicken, just because the beef saltenas can get sweet sometimes. They are reasonably priced too. Best saltenas I’ve ever had, and if I could rate only their food, I would give it five stars in a heartbeat… …But there was one incident that really made me feel like this place now deserves three stars instead of five. I came there with a friend and this young lady took my friend’s order in line, and when it was my turn she straight-up ignored me. Instead, she avoided eye contact and didn’t even ask if I needed to order while I just stood there in front of her and the register waiting. No acknowledgement whatsoever. She even looked past me and took the orders of another customer BEHIND me! I never saw her there before that day, but if she’s a new hire, I still don’t think there was any excuse to disrespect a customer like that. Eventually, another worker noticed me and took my order instead. I come here almost every week and a middle aged man and woman usually gives me great customer service and my saltenas come out pretty quickly. However, that one bad experience really stuck with me enough to write a review about it.
