Big Lots

There is never anything in this Big Lots that seems like a good enough deal. Merchandise is limited, and prices are just so so.
The parking lot situation here is also a reason for a star deduction. There’s no side entrance to the Big Lots parking lot, so you must go through the Wal-​Mart one, which, as you can imagine, is like going through any Wal-​Mart parking lot.
One nice surprise in this location is occasional cheap and rare groceries– but beware the expiration dates.
The staff we’ve communicated with have been friendly, but no one has ever gone out of their way to be helpful.
Overall, this Big Lots location is a true-​two-​star-​Meh.

It’s a cool place to shop. I like to walk around to see what kind of merchandise they have stocked up. It’s got good low prices. :)

You can get some really great deals here but be careful. Not everything is a bargain and some things they sell just aren’t very good quality. For instance, bought a fake Christmas tree here and it was basically falling apart when I got it home and set it up. It looked nothing like the demo model in the store!
Their furniture is a decent price and well constructed. Some food items are good deals and toys are generally good.
Staff tend to not be very helpful and there are usually long lines at the register’s where generally there should be another register or two open, but usually not enough staff around to open another one.

I love this store. I have noticed that the Big Lots with the upgraded «!» on the sign are much improved over old stores that haven’t embraced the change. Not everything is a bargain. Some items were cheaper at Walmart (directly next store).
There were household items that were bargains. I purchased a folding laundry drying rack that will actually fit in between the wall and my washing machine.
I couldn’t find any memory SD cards for my camera. There were camera cases, laptop sleeves and charging plugs.
The employees were nice. The store was clean.

Oh, it’s like a big dollar store but things aren’t a dollar. I hadn’t been to a Big Lots before. I’d only seen the ads. Since it’s supposedly overstock merchandise from various sources, I thought it would be like TJ Maxx, but slightly different stuff. It was kind of like Zayre or Kmart was back in the day. It was like a less nice Caldor. (Another old store. It wasn’t as clean as the Walmart next door. If I needed that first budget pleather tv chair with embedded cup holder for my first apartment, I might have found it here. It just wasn’t the amazing trove of overstock goodies I thought it could be from the ads. Hence the «Meh» rating.

The sales floor aesthetic for this Big Lots can use some improvement. There is trash on the floor. Merchandise litters some of the aisles. Shopping carts are strewn about. Stock on some of the shelves is unkempt. Tall metal step ladders look as if they are strategically placed to block customer access to merchandise.
Check your cash register receipt carefully, as this reviewer did on a recent purchase. There is confusion regarding pricing. Prices posted on the sales floor and what the customer is actually charged are two different prices.

The customer service was nice. They held a piece that they only had one in stock and I didn’t want the floor model. I was surprised by the quality of most of their furniture; I guess I was thinking the furniture was more like pressed particle board. I didn’t look at anything else in the store; but I plan to go back to browse!

I am so happy that Big Lots finally opened a store close to me. It right next to the new Wal– Mart but I come here first cause sometimes Big Lots has better deals and items that you don’t find in many places. Big Lots sells a bunch of stuff for cheap that have been discontinued or it was overstock from other stores from toys, grocery items, shampoo, dvd’s, etc. I love going to the home goods section to buy cheap cups and china plates. This place is awesome for holiday decorations and furniture, too.

If your not familiar with Big Lots, you might be confused… basically they sell the overstock from other stores… which means you get GREAT prices… but WHAT they have can change from week to week. I have awesome deals out certain items once and then NEVER seen the item again. Make every visit interesting!

Nice, quiet, fairly priced, and quick to get out of.
Often prefer this place to walmart which is right next door because its more convenient

Having never been to a Big Lots before, I thought this tore was pretty interesting. This store has a bunch of random things, including a ton of Christmas decorations. They also have a grocery section which is very inexpensive. Worth a visit and attached to a Walmart.
