Hobby Works

Really a go to place for hobby supplies. Carries a wide range of niche hobby items: model kits, r/​c cars, quad rotors, paints, supplies, plastruct, model railroading, etc. the staff are just the nicest guys, very knowledgable and friendly. I can get basic paint colors at a craft store, but this place has the stuff you can’t find there.

Awesome places. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. My first experience at this store defiantly won me over. Staff was very friendly! Came in here for a quick part to pick up for my RC TRUCK. «Jake» said «sir can I take a look?» took it to the back and voila he came back a few minutes later and said «You did not need a new part, i improvised and fixed it :)» Awesome kid. He also talked me into buying this new charger for my batteries.
This store is defiantly one of my favorite hobby stores that i’ve found here in VA !

Love this place, it’s very clean and employees are extremely nice. Go in here every couple days to get some magic the gathering cards and as I’m a noob the guy behing the counter will help me out and tell me the value of what I got. Great for any hobbiest and geek.

Brick and mortar hobby shops are becoming ever more rare, so the ones that do exist have to have be chains that have a little of everything or ones that specialize in one thing (RC models, plastic kits, Warhammer stuff, etc)
Hobby Works is the former. Their selection of plastic model kits is very nice, if not a little predictable and mainstream (Mostly Hasegawa, Tamiya, Italeri and Revell; No, no vacuform or resin model kits, no resin aftermarket parts either) but their RC department looks to be well stocked and comprehensive.
They have a full range of bottled and aerosol paint, tools and glues. They’re also reasonably close to the beltway, even though they’re outside of it, so getting there isn’t too much of a hassle.
