I am a long time Honey Baked fan. This is the first time I’ve used the Fairfax store. I usually go to Reston. I pre ordered a mini ham and roasted turkey breast for Thanksgiving. I arrived about 2:30 the day before Thanksgiving(open until 8 I believe). The line was about 45 minutes. If all cash registered were used it probably could have been reduced to about 30 minutes. Also they were OUT of roasted turkey breast. I pre ordered so either they planned wrong or gave it out to others. I pick up the day before only because of having limited refrigerator space. Shame on you. No apologies even given. Thoroughly disappointed!!! Won’t go to this store again. Never encountered this at the other store and want to save others from this experience.

I was visiting the area with my husband(for work) and one year old. We took a stroll around in the morning and then by lunch we walked up to Honey Baked. The service was great very fast and friendly. I thought the bag felt heavy on our way back and I was right! Their sandwiches are huge and are really tasty! A huge sandwich only cost me $ 7. It could easily feed two! Definitely worth returning!

Super yummy food, friendly service, clean establishment, and an amazing assortment of their foods and signature sauces to go… what more could I ask?

I find this place less crowded than other café during weekday lunch time. The staff here is very nice and helpful. They bring order to your table. When you are finished, they come and take the tray away for you, so you can continue to chill out in this calm place(relaxing, reading, talking). Not to mention the food is tasty as always.

I came here to try their famous ‘honeybaked ham’ in a sandwich form. I tried their ‘Smoker’ version, which had their ‘smoked spicy’ bacon slices, their original honeybaked ham slices, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and I opted out of the bbq sauce. I did dip my sandwich in their ‘tangy mayo’ that you can get next to the soda fountain. The sandwich itself was pretty tasty, and pretty much the best-tasting thick-cut ham I’ve tasted in a while; I haven’t really much cared for ham deli meat, but this particular one was pretty good. The bacon itself wasn’t spicy at all, but it was still solid. You had a choice of having chips(they had some Miss Vickie’s and Lays), or a side of macaroni salad, their ‘deli salad(broccoli)’, potato salad, baked beans, or cole slaw. I chose their macaroni salad and it was pretty darn tasty — this one was well-made — it had the right consistency, enough mayo, and well-cooked macaroni elbows. The sandwiches themselves will run you about $ 7 – 8, which is kind of pricey, but if you’re in the Fairfax area and you’re craving for some ‘healthy’ sandwich options(and not feeling Subway and other sandwich places), this is a great choice. The employees were really nice, they had free refills, and you could also buy slices of ham, their sides, and their desserts to take home for dinner, for catering events, etc. There’s a small lot available in the plaza for your car. +honeybaked ham: D +macaroni salad

I got the«Swiss Is It Melt» a side salad, pickle and a vanilla Rum Cake. It was the most awesome lunch I’ve had in a long time! The ham sandwich(the swiss melt) was so good and made fresh, it was big so I ate one half and ate the other half later. The pickle was wrapped individually so it wasn’t messy and complimented the sandwich so well. The side salad was awesome and fresh, they had the dressing and croutons separate so nothing was soggy. And the rum cake was the best rum cake I’ve ever had. The cashier was friendly and I didn’t mind waiting for the food to be ready. I wish Honey Baked was closer to my office… I’d go weekly if not daily.

So happy to have found this place. Like someone else mentioned, it really is an improved Panera(in my mind). The portion was more generous, the price was slightly lower and the meat was higher quality. I had the Prime Roast Beef sandwich and thought the horseradish sauce was amazing and provided the perfect kick. Also, the roast beef was extremely tender and flavorful without the gross gristle-y bits that sometimes come with roast beef. Next time I will try a soup!

This is really a perfected Panera Bread. The décor is very similar to Panera but with a stone fireplace. Very clean as well. A friend and I were actually looking at several cars at the dealers around Fairfax and came in for lunch since we were both pretty hungry after spending 4 hours over at Kia and Pohanka. I order the Honeybaked Chef Salad, which includes ham, turkey, bacon, cheddar, swiss cheese, tomatoes and lettuce with their honey ranch dressing while my friend ordered a ham melt. The person who took our order soon came back with our dishes and served it to us while we were sitting and waiting, like a normal restaurant. The layout however is similar to a Panera, where you order from the cashier. I noticed just how large the salad was too and the price was only $ 6.57. Not only that, but the ham, turkey, and bacon were all delicious. The honey ranch dressing they have really made the salad. I ended up finishing the whole dish. My friend also really enjoyed his ham melt. It wasn’t specified the bread used was wheat, but when the guy came out, my friend asked if it was possible to switch to white and they did so without question. With the really friendly service, great food, and good prices, easily much better than a Panera. Highly recommended if you’re anywhere near the 50 and 29 intersection of Fairfax. Great value, good food, and great service.

Love this place! Where else can you get a decent lunch(half sandwich, soup or salad and drink) for under 7 $ that isn’t McDonald’s! I usually get the ham salad crossiant(omg it IS heavenly) and the broccoli bacon bliss salad(a must try!) the cashier is always super friendly. I go usually twice a month :)

Stopped here to pick up dinner last night. They have a good selection of sandwiches and you can get chips or soup or salad for a side. I got the tavern club. The meat, cheese, and bacon were all good, but I was left really wishing for more substantial bread. You can’t really have a great sandwich without great bread, and when the meat is cut as thickly as it is there, you need a hearty bread to hold up to it.

This is a Honey Baked Ham store with a small corner reserved for dining. It is not a Denny’s or a Deli. It’s not even a Panera Bread. As soon as you walk inside, you realize this looks just like a Honeybaked Ham store. In fact, it may take you a few scans before you see the small sign and the tiny little corner where they’ll also serve you food. Feel free to place an order for that 10 pound ham and take it with you after you’re done with lunch. Once you get past the bad marketing, it’s a perfectly acceptable dining experience. I thought that with the reputation of Honeybaked Ham, my ham and potato soup, along with the ham and cheese sandwich, would be an amazing dining experience. I have fond memories of Thanksgiving and Christmas, with Honey Baked Ham as one of the centerpieces at the dining table. The warm meat, the tender slices, the sweet crusty coasting on the edges, and a flavor that’s salty but not too salty. Those were some good meals. And I’m pretty sure I’m bullshitting myself, because my meal today tasted like every other soup and sandwich I’ve had. There were definitely no memories of happiness and sunshine while chomping the remains of Ms. Piggy. No matter how much love and marketing goes into it, there’s only so many ways you can re-use the exact same ham. And that’s when I remembered the two weeks of leftover ham after Thanksgiving dinner. It’s tasty, gets the job done, and doesn’t really stand out. If you were hoping for something you’d get at a NY deli, you’ll be content settling for a sandwich you could probably get at Wegman’s. The service is fine. The store/restaurant is small, so you won’t get lost in the crowd. The price is reasonable too. The seats are comfortable. The dining area looks like a spartan, modern café. I liked it, but I don’t think I’d make it a regular habit. I’ve realized that Honey Baked Ham is one of those things that’s A) served best in small slices and B) seems like it tasted really good 10 years ago, but it turns out it wasn’t that good. But it’s still better than the Wendy’s nearby that closes at midnight and forgot to bring my chicken nuggets out even though I was idling in the parking lot for 10 minutes.

Stopped in for lunch today, and I was not quite sure what to expect. The staff was friendly, and while the guy who helped me was obviously new, he asked if I was new and pointed out that the take-out menu had good descriptions of the sandwiches. I got the ham and cheddar stack, and they heated it for me. It was delicious. I usually ask for no mayo, but I’m glad I didn’t this time. The call it «Sharp and Creamy Mayo» and it is. The«European White Roll» is basically ciabatta, but easier to chew. It is probably dangerous that this will be on the way home from my new job.

This is what Honey Baked Ham places are turning into now I suppose and I have to say I like it. This little strip shopping center in Fairfax is new and only half open as of mid-May 2008. I felt like a sandwich so I walked here for dinner the other night after randomly noticing it was open the day before. They have a counter for ordering and picking up hams(like the old stores) and then the counter for ordering sandwiches and other stuff. About 20 different sandwiches, a soup of the day, and a few salads is what you’ll find on the menu. I had the Ultimate Club and it was yummy… Ham, turkey, smoked bacon, with lettuce, tomato, on a focaccia roll. I tried a bite of my friend’s Ham & Swiss Melt also. It had their yummy honey ham with just the right amount of swiss melted on it. It was good enough to make me want to go back and get my own next visit. Staff was all very friendly. Restaurant was clean(which I suppose isn’t hard considering they’d only been open a week total). Décor is very warm and Panera-esque with a stone fireplace on one end which would be nice during the winter.
