There aren’t many places to get your caffeine fix on campus at George Mason University(minus soda vending machines). Jazzman’s does a good job of quickly getting orders out even when there are a lot of people ordering. I’ve only had the Carmel Latte a few times but every time it has been just as good as what you can get at a Starbucks and is a little cheaper. It’s located in Johnson Center, which is right in the middle of campus, on the the bottom floor near the radio station. Worth a stop if you need a pick me up before a long class.

The only star I’m giving them is for the service. During my college career at GMU, I tried Jazzman’s maybe thrice. I wanted so badly to like it but it’s hard to like something that makes your stomach bubble every time you drink it(and it’s not coffee that does that to me as I get Starbucks and Caribou all the time and am fine). Don’t waste your time or money.

My lifetime occupation = full-time procrastinator. At the age of six, I waited until the car ride to school to have my mother sign my Tuesday folder. At twelve, I dusted off my violin during the morning of the Spring recital. At sixteen, I got stuck with kinda-sorta cute funky-odor boy at the Sadie Hawkins dance because I didn’t look for a date until that weekend. At twenty, I pulled seventy-two hours of no sleep during finals week… cramming at its finest. I’m still stuck in the no-sleep stages of this occupation of mine, and I must say that Jazzman’s has been there through it all. When I really have to crack down on the books and get my concentration on, I’m always found here. It’s a small little coffee shop on GMU campus that serves Seattle’s Best coffee beverages, fruity smoothies, sandwiches, and sweet treats. When I come here to focus, I always get some coffee with a double shot of espresso for that extra studying boost or to simply help me stay awake after a ridiculous night at Lima that I really shouldn’t have had. Oh, and I get a delightfully delectable black-bottom cupcake, just because. The one thing that sucks is that there aren’t too many lounge chairs, so you have to come at non-busy hours(NOT in between classes) or else you’ll be stuck at the high bar stool-like chairs and tiny tables. Regardless, the coffee is good and strong, the staff is super friendly… always hooking it up with an extra espresso shot for free, and the atmosphere is chill. It’s just perfect for all my… . . . . . . . . . . . . . . … procrastinating needs.
