This place is fantastic. It is family owned and they truly care about their customers and the quality of food that they provide. All of them are friendly and the place is always full, which speaks volumes to the quality of service and food

We have been here at least 3 times with family. Unfortunately, we experience the same problem every time. The pizza is soggy. We’ve asked for it to be extra-baked, crispy, but it is just so… soggy. We come here because of the closeness to our home and my partner is all about the rave reviews — it’s sad we’re not experiencing all the excitement over it. The staff is great, the atmosphere is nice — it’s just really wet pizza — that falls apart when picking it up. Bummer.

Cozy and usually crowded with families. It is a nice place to grab a slice on the go or socialize with a group. The pizzas are tasty and would rate them a B. Do the pizzas represent New York’s finest? Not quite, yet they do have gluten-free options which we truly appreciate. The staff and owner are great and friendly; they get an A++. Take advance of their lunch specials to try out the entrees(e.g., eggplant lasagna). One thumb up.

We had take out and it was decent, the sauce was a little salty but overall a decent pizza joint. Their crust was good. We would go again, maybe dine in next time so the pizza is hot.

Pasta cooked to perfection, clams that don’t seem to come from a can. Clearly a friendly place, they knew some customers by name. I will be back

This is Fairfax’s hidden gem, especially for those out there yearning for authentic Italian food in the DC area. I could tell from the moment I stepped into this shop that this was the real thing. The workers are all originally from New York and the smell of the food was invigorating. The first thing I said to the manager was, «I hear you have the best Pizza in Fairfax,» and replied with a smirk and said, «yeah because we know how to make it.» At first I laughed because how hard could it be to make pizza, but as I thought about my pizza experiences down here in Fairfax I realized that I have not been pleased with other places. That is until I bit into the huge pepperoni slice at shop. The pizza is fresh, the right amount of grease, the right amount of crunch, and delicious. Once I ate the slice of pizza I didn’t think anything could top it until I had their Chicken Parmesan and Spaghetti and that was even better. Please take the time to find this place and eat there you won’t be upset, and for all you New Yorkers you will feel at home again. Thank you Sean

Love this place!!! This Italian place knows how to serve the New York style pizza, thin and large! We love to have our pizza with Italian sausage, pineapple, and onions! Our kids love this place! Not only the food is so good, but also the owner always welcomes young children with a lollipop.

Pomodoro’s offers the very best New York Style pizza in Northern Virginia. Period. They hand toss their crust, use a flavorful but-not-too-sweet sauce, and meaty pepperoni. They bake in conventional pizza ovens and toss the crusts themselves on a nearly continual basis. The dining room isn’t much for atmosphere(it’s basically a counter service establishment) and, while fresh and decently prepared, the non-pizza food isn’t hugely special. But the pizza… wow! Although it’s all pretty good, the simpler pizzas(pepperoni, cheese) go better on the perfectly chewy crust than do the more complicated productions. A top-notch place for carryout pizza. A real jem.

The many 4 and 5 star reviews were pulling me to this restaurant! We wanted something quick but also wanted a nice meal! This place is located across from the Regal Cinemas in the Fairfax Town Center off Ox Road. There are a few surrounding food venues(Five Guys, Baja Fresh, a new Hibachi fast food joint, and a kabob place. This place was hopping with pick up orders and LOTS of people dining in. I had a craving for one of their hot subs. I ordered the Sausage Parmigiano and added extra pepperoni. Hubby ordered his usual ‘steak and cheese’ sub. We split an order of fries since the subs came with a tiny bag of chips. The subs were AH-mazing! I saw this because of the fresh, crusty french bread bun, fresh made tomato sauce, a nice portion of melted cheese and hefty sausage pieces topped with pepperoni. It was a nice size sub, served HOT! Seriously, this was a meal for 2 people or take-home leftovers. Hubby enjoyed his steak and cheese! He added his favorite condiments from raw onions to the various mustards, etc… We didn’t wait too long for our food! The vibe at this place was fast paced and serious! We enjoy a fast meal made fresh to order and with such amazing quality! I only wish we lived closer so we could partake in the many take-out options!

Best pizza in Fairfax! I wished they delivered but then again, maybe not, as I think they would be at my house every day. When I call ahead they are friendly and always greet you when you walk in to pick up. I’ve also eaten in the sit down area. It is always clean — a big plus. Wish the parking was a little easier to get in and out of but don’t let that stop you from getting a pie. The pasta and sandwiches are also very good. I really enjoy the vodka gnocchi. Can’t say enough about this place. What a pizza place should be!

Decent Italian food, definitely not great. Located across the street from the Fairfax Towne Center theatre, it is one of those casual restaurants, where you order at the register, and pick up food when your number is called. I was a little confused on whether to leave my plates at the table or clean it up myself — don’t worry, just leave it there and they’ll get for you. There’s a lot of menu items from different pastas to appetizers, such as mussels and bruschetta, and other entrees like calzones and salads. However, there isn’t a variety of pizzas — it’s pretty limited in toppings. But the most annoying part about this establishment is that they don’t sell single slices of pizza past 5PM Friday-Sunday. For that reason, I haven’t tried the pizza yet, but if I come back on a weekday, I will definitely be getting a slice! The pasta is okay, but it’s pricey especially for the quality. Depending on what you order, the wait might take a while especially during busy business hours. I like the eggplant parm, which comes with a side of spaghetti and garlic bread, but it’s only alright. No real complaints about this establishment, but I think the experience is just average. I’d rather go to Tony’s in Fair Lakes.

Decent, but not amazing and I’d probably order pasta instead of pizza if I ever visit again. My fiancé picked up pizza for us from Pomodoro recently. He ordered the large Supreme Combo Pizza(Sausage, Pepperoni, Mushrooms, Onions, Green Peppers, Mozzarella Cheese and Sauce). The pizza was decent, but the crust was falling apart a bit, they skimped on the toppings a bit, and the pizza didn’t taste super fresh. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by the likes of Lost Dog and Paisano’s, but they really don’t have much variety in their toppings at Pomodoro either. I would likely go back, but only to get their pasta(because they seem to have a better pasta than pizza selection).

Never disappoints! Have been coming here for the past 5 years. I recommend the cheesesteak, chicken parm, and pizza(of course!) Cozy atmosphere, very clean, plenty of booths(always my preference). In a time where it’s all chains and franchises, it’s refreshing to have a nice family owned restaurant to head to for great food.

Quite tasty and at a great price too. Service was very friendly with ample seating. Good kids deals, pizza was tasty and a great spot to hit before/after the movies across the parking lot.

Solid NYC pizza for not NYC. Staff is friendly while being down to business. They have a huge variety to their menu so something for everyone. They ate a bit pricey, but that’s too be expected for pizza from a real pizza shop. They have different lunch specials everyday which run until 3 which is fantastic as well as a variety of by the slice options. Soda fountain is serve yourself so you don’t have to wait for staff for refills. Not 5 stars only because seating can be awkward when it gets busy(and it does get busy) so sometimes if you want to eat in its hard to find a table. The wait times can also be a bit, but that’s because everything is made fresh so I could care less because I can taste the fresh. Love it. In my entire time coming here, 4 years or so, there have been 2 mistakes. Both fairly small. The manager himself noticing me talking with the staff to resolve(not even like an issue or anything he’s just that aware) came over himself to remedy and both times remade the order apologizing indicating there was no excuse, he apologized and could he offer me a drink on the house, wine beer soft drink while he fixed the order in addition to any financial charge corrections. So rare to see such service anymore or a owner so aware of everything going on. Truly made me feel like a valued customer.

My little ones was craving spaghetti so I looked up in fairfax area where they have the best pasta. Decided to come here. I’ve been here a couple times but just ran in quickly to pick up pizza that we ordered over the phone but have never actually sat down and ate pasta. I got the kids fettuccine Alfredo and kids spaghetti with sausage for them and I ordered the penne vodka with shrimp for myself after I asked what the person taking our order recommends because there are so many options! I’m not sure what my husband ordered. My pasta was decent and my little one didn’t enjoy her spaghetti so much. It’s pretty pricey but next time I will just stick with getting pizza to go.

was in the area traveling down from maryland to luray and found me ourselves here. well the menu was quite long and I had no previous knowledge of what to order but decided on pesto chicken and a appetizer of garlic bread with cheese. The appetizer came out first and it was a good portion of cheese bread with marinara sauce. The taste was good. Moving onto the pesto chicken dish, the sauce was good and the chicken was good too. I know«good» isn’t the most convincing of adjectives but I have no qualms about the taste of the food here. price wise I think the dishes were a little on the high side considering the portion offered on the pasta and the appetizer. I don’t really have much to compare it to, but an appetizer and chicken dish ran 22 $ just for numbers sake. I was with two teammates who said they enjoyed the food too getting both another pesto chicken dish and a meat sauce tortellini in vodka sauce. I tasted the vodka sauce and it was good! would I come back? probably yea as the pizza looked great on other peoples tables but probably based on price not everyday. I’ll upload two pictures is anyone cares.

I generally don’t have too high of an expectation when eating pizza/pasta. I mean, it’s pizza and pasta, soaked in cheese, cream, or marinara sauce. How can it be bad? And how different can it be from restaurant to restaurant? But this place kind of blew my mind the first time I went. First of all, their complimentary garlic bread is addictingly good. I’ve had their sausage and pepper pasta, and penne tomato basil. Best sausage and pepper pasta ever. My boyfriend had their greek salad and chicken pesto pasta. Both were good. Wait — no. The chicken pesto pasta was AMAZING. It’s at a really convenient location, and the employees are always so happy and helpful. I really like this place and would definitely go when I crave fast Italian food.

I was first introduced to this restaurant by a friend, maybe 5 yrs ago. Every time I’m on the Fairfax side of town, I stop by for a quite bite to eat. This visit, I ordered the Penne Vodka Sauce with Shrimp. The portion size is plentiful, more than enough for two. Pasta cooked al dente. The shrimp and broccoli were perfect. The vodka sauce, eh, not so great. Bland, blah, boooooo on the sauce. I should have ordered my usual dish, the Penne Pomodoro. Unfortunately, that’s what I get for trying something new. I still like this place. It really is a convenient fast, casual spot. I just didn’t have the best experience with the vodka sauce. Oh well. Until we meet again.
