Acapulco

So disappointed!!! I have wanted to eat here for a long time and finally did tonight. The restaurant was dirty — especially the bathroom. After we sat down — they served us chips and salsa — the chips were cold and very greasy and chewy and it tasted like the salsa was watered down. What I really wanted to try was the margaritas that I have heard so much about. I got a large frozen one and I couldn’t tell there was any alcohol in it — usually after a drink that size I really feel it — I felt nothing and sure couldn’t taste any alcohol. My chicken burrito was cold. I can’t think of one good thing about this meal. I use to work in a restaurant so I am very tolerant when eating out — but this was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.

I’ve reached a point where I’ve stopped ordering food from Mexican restaurants because I’m all always disappointed in it. A friend suggested Alcupulco for margaritas and after glancing at the menu and the super cheap lunch prices I caved and ordered taco salad.
Huge disappointment. The taco salad, the funny tasting margaritas, the service, everything. There was a difference between this and Taco Bell.

My kids favorite Mexican restaurant. I really like the fish tacos. Their salsa is good too.

I’ve been there already often for lunch and decided to publish a review. I’ve tried several Burritos but always came back to the «Chicken Fajita» and decided not to make any further experiments. The portion of the chicken fajita has a good size and is perfect for «hungry» days. You get 3 Tortillas and fried meat with rice, salad, guacamole and sour cream. It has been always tasty and it’s always a good lunch option.

We’ve been here a handful of times over the years and I decided to stop in for lunch this past Friday. Stopped in about 2:30 pm and there were 3 – 4 other tables. Seat yourself — one guy was sitting at the register and 3 – 4 others were wandering around (expeditors, waiters, bus boys?) Someone finally brought a menu and then disappeared — took forever to finally have a waiter come to take an order — lunch came and it was meh — never did receive a check and finally had to go up to the register to pay. Overall meh food and crappy service — too many other choices in the area.

This is my family’s absolutely favorite restaurant in southwest Ohio. We go there a couple of times a month or more often and have introduced it to our friends and family, who have also made it their favorite. We don’t even need to look at the menu anymore. Our family affectionally calls it by our nickname «#11» for the #11 lunch special, the Hot & Spicy Burrito.
I’m torn each visit whether to choose the Burrito Verde or the Pollo Loco as both are generous in size and oh so good. The Classic Chicken Chimichangas are a favorite of one of my family members while the Hot & Spicy Burrito is of another. Another’s favorite is the Deep Fried Chicken Chimichanga although he also loves the Carne Asada and the Steak Especialidad Acapulco. I have never had anything that I would not recommend. I have a good friend who always orders the nachos. The spicy salsa is the very best I’ve had including some of the best Tex-​Mex restaurants in Texas. The queso dip is awesome as well.
The frozen margaritas are the best anywhere. They are the real deal and are made the way they are supposed to (from the original method created in Dallas) in an icy machine. A visit to Acapulco for the margaritas alone are worth the trip.
The wait staff are really incredible. They take the time to become familiar with their customers and are so friendly. They always make us feel like we are the most special customers they have and my friends tell me they are treated the same way.
We love this restaurant so much that we seldom go anywhere else. It is our go to for all special occasions like birthdays, weekends and any other excuse we can think of. When it comes to Mexican and Tex-​Mex restaurants I am very picky. I would highly recommend this restaurant, especially the one in Fairfield.

Order came out spot on. Not usual for my family of picky eaters! Service was just as good!

Pretty average Mexican food. I was not impressed at all. There are much better places in the area.

Fast for lunch. Made carnitas tacos in a flash. Was in and out in plenty of time with chips and 2 kinds of salsa too. Good quality as well. I really appreciated the speed of getting my food and it was cheaper than a lunch at chipotle!!!

Very nice authentic Mexican restaurant. I ordered the fajita taco bowl, it had chicken, steak, various colored peppers, onion, and black beans. It was well seasoned but not overbearing. My hubby ordered shrimp enchiladas, he said they were delicious. They margaritas were large and tasty. Our server was attentive. The prices on the menu were reasonable. I would not hesitate to go back to Acapulco to try other menu items.

Love the fast service and authentic Mexican food options. Would definitely recommend this place!

I highly recommend the Acapulco quesadilla, add shrimp. Avoid the guacamole, tasteless green goop! All other food items are tasteless Mexican slop. After all, you people we’re raised in the Ohio Valley of the culinary bland!

Your typical Mexican joint. Cheap drinks and I really like their rice and beans. Tacos were okay.

We got in just around 600 on a Wednesday evening, our server seemed disinterested in our group of 6. The food was tasty and all special orders were made correctly, but we waited a very long time for refill or or checks. The staff again, just didn’t seem to care about any of us diners, including other tables. Probably will not go again

I really love this place. I don’t drink, so I cannot review the margaritas. I can say that apparently everyone else in the restaurant loves them because I was the ONLY person that did not have a ginormous ecto-​green glass of liquid in front of me. One couple came in only for the the margaritas. The cheese dip is awesome, and apparently has real dairy in it because my lactose intolerant fiancé pays the price for the next 24 hours. It is the perfect consistency, not too runny. The salsa is meh, but the chips are great. I’ve never gotten a stale chip there. I almost always get the seafood chimichanga and I can’t find a better one in this area. I think this is the only place I can actually get a SEAFOOD chimichanga with shrimp and crab (probably fake, but I really don’t care). If this is your thing, I suggest trying it. My fiancé always gets the carnitas acapulco, it’s great too. Unlike many other places the meat is tender, moist, and not overcooked, it has a kick but does not make my rather bland palate hate me or life. They ARE almost always busy and it is not a place for a quiet dinner for two.

Food was okay and fast but the it was more bar like with people doing shots after they were drunk. I will stick to lunch in the future.

This place is delicious. Years ago, I’d only get carryout because the Staffs English annoyed me. They must have gotten Rosetta Stone because it’s a 10 fold improvement. The food is exceptional in taste. Portions are fair and hot. Prices are decent. I always get the burger. They use an Angus I believe. It’s cooked in a manner thats unique. If it’s a food warehouse burger, it’s got a unique delicious character. I prefer it over Ricks now. The Restaraunt is very clean and colorful. In typical Mexican Restaurant fashion it’s done with every pastel color in the crayon box. T.v.s sound is off, usually sports. They play the you have no clue what there saying but the rhythm is upbeat music.
Pros– Price. Quality of food. Portion size. Cleanliness. Huge parking lot, situated in a way even if it’s packed there no huge walk. Speed and quality of service.
Cons– I dont understand the words to the music. No outdoor seats.
Note: I think they have a banquet style room. I’ve never seen it opened, but if I’m not mistaken theres a room in the back that could be for large groups.

My boyfriend and I have dined at this Acapulco many, many times over the past year, usually dining in. It was a favorite of ours. The food was 9 times out of 10 delicious and served very quickly. After that, though, there was very little attention from any of the different servers we’ve had on the different occasions we’ve dined here. No one would ask to refill your drink, we would have to go to the counter to pay our bill after getting tired of waiting for someone to bring it over once we’d finished our food.
Unfortunately, the last time we ate at Acapulco will be the last ever. After the server took our order, no one stopped by to check if we liked our food. Several of us could’ve used drink refills, but no one stopped to ask if we needed more water or beer. Although it was prime dinner hour there were several servers leaning against the wall for a while. One of the members of our group even tried to flag down a server several times, and the server just stared at them and never came over. After waiting 20 minutes after everyone had finished eating for someone to clear the table, ask if we wanted dessert and bring us the check we finally had to go to the counter to pay.
Honestly, after our last experience at this restaurant we won’t be going back, or recommending Acapulco to anyone. The food deserves more than 2 stars, but the service deserves none.

Great food, fast service. My family and I will continue to dine there. My daughters love the endless chips and salsa. I always get the steak fajitas.

I have visited this location twice over the last few years and good experience both times. My friends love the medium and large margaritas and the free chips and salsa are a great bonus! If you are in the Fairfield area and looking for some good Mexican I would recommend checking it out. They also have coupons so make sure to look out for those.
