Ordered the chicken chimichunga. It was delicious. They served the food with 3 salsas is squeezable containers. The one in the red container is as hot as Satan’s B-hole, but ITWASDELICIOUS. The service was lacking, though. Had they brought out everything we ordered and were more attentive, they would be gotten 5 stars.

Taqueria Mercado takes over the space left behind by Javier’s in the building across the street from the library. It’s a sister to the restaurant of the same name way up in Fairfield. i used to go to the one that was open in erlanger ky before it closed. so glad they opened one downtown. Finally some good affordable authentic mexican food downtown! the complimentary chips are freshly fried which is a huge plus, the carne asada is tender and flavorful, as is the pollo and chorizo. If you want some cheap tacos for lunch this is THE spot downtown. use the sauce in the red bottle. it’s not hot, its a garlicy spicy flavor bomb that tastes great on everything, especially the chips and chicken. authentic mexican at it’s finest for sure. the only blemish is that the service was a bit in over its head, but this being the first week that it has been open, i’m sure that will work itself out.
