Bad customer service + long wait = AAFES poor quality! Travis needs to step it up and hire people who want to work and know what they are doing!

Not happy! Several other bases where I have patroned it was awesome. But, as with just about every eatery or AAFES establishment on Travis there is always a mean old Asian woman who argues with you when they make a mistake. Service is terrible, cooks are inexperienced and the person who customizes ur sandwich at the end of the count doesn’t listen to you and makes the sandwich her way then gripes at you like you were a child when you point out HER mistake. Very disrespectful.. it’s too bad too because I have always loved their food until now. But that seems to be normal ops for Travis AAFES.

Came here today with my dad for lunch. Hadn’t been on base in quite some time, but I always remember seeing Charley’s and wanting to try it out. I got a regular chicken teriyaki sandwich with a peach lemonade. My dad ordered a chicken Philly. We were quite impressed! The food wasn’t greasy and had a lot of flavor. The people that worked there were very nice as well and didn’t ignore us when they were busy telling us they would be right with us which was great! We both liked it and although it’s rare for me to be on base nowadays I will definitely give this another try in the future!

my tongue still hurts from all the salt I FORCED myself to consume from HALF my order… I was starving and this thing made me lose my appetite. :(I LOVE good food… we need a «Great American Steak and Hoagie» located on Lincoln Blv. in Venice, Ca. here in Nor Cal!!! Eww!!! this place was an assault to my mouth and high blood pressure!

I was going to try their product for the first time and I was really looking forward to trying out one of their sandwiches. The girl at the register taking my order was so rude and impolite not only with how she was talking to me but also her mannerisms. I was as polite as can be throughout the whole ordeal until after she was so condescending I just couldn’t take it any longer. I asked for my money back at which time she snapped«you weren’t charged anything, yet!». I then asked her for my debit card back and told her she was very rude and I walked away. Other customers in line made this comment; «everyone in the crew is rude»! This rude employee lost a customer for the very company she works for, not only that, if she’s that way all the time I’m sure others have been turned off by it and not purchased at this restaurant. It’s highly unlikely I would go there to try their product, which is sad because I’m sure they have many delicious items to offer and my family and I were looking forward to trying a few of them. Some people shouldn’t work in the public!

What a waste of money! The sandwiches are really small and they are skimpy with their meat. Save your money for a better sandwich shop! Doesn’t even taste that great. I’m so mad I wasted my money here. Should’ve went to Subway!

The sandwiches here are actually ok. The Philly Cheesesteak here isn’t anywhere near as good as any other place, but for fast food, it’s delicious. I like the sandwich and fries deal. So much cheaper than the other selections they have. Yum yum on the fries btw! Garlic salt = a major plus!

This is the newest addition at the Travis AFB food court. I have always bypassed it settling for Taco Bell or Captain D’s. I finally decided to try this place out and it was a mixed bag for me. First and foremost, the service is extremely disappointing considering this establishment is on military property. The cashier was rude and did not greet me at all. She seemed pissed off when I was taking my time to look at the menu and no one was even behind me. I ordered the deluxe cheesesteak and cheddar bacon fries with a large drink which came up to around $ 11. The cheesesteak was surprisingly Delicious as it remained hot until I killed it. The combination of the onions and mushrooms hit the spot. The cheddar bacon fries were ok, so I might opt for some regular ones next time. Despite the rude cashier and above-average prices, I would eat here again.

I’ve passed by Charley’s plenty of times, but I’ve never tried it until now. To be honest, I was kinda persuaded by my dad since he wanted a Philly Cheeseteak from the place. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich. Both came with fries and a drink. It was nice watching them make the sandwiches on the grill. Truly made to order unlike Subway and Quiznos where you really don’t know how long ago their meats were cooked. While I waited, I munched on the fries — hot, toasty, and crunchy! Adding the creole seasoning on top is a must. Overall, a pretty good place. A much needed alternative to the 5 dollar footlong and 4 dollar torpedo and 3 dollar bullet, and what-not.
