Chicken Express

So it says on Unilocal that they close at 9, I’m here now and it’s not even 8:30 and they are already closed.

Hole in the wall, cracked vinyl seat benches, but inside there is a giant Rotisserie full of chicken goodness! Personally I like to order the family meal togo you get a whole chicken, two sides and tortillas for around $ 20 bucks. Chicken Express is not a destination spot, but it is a great bet to feed the fam on a budget.

It’s different kind of fast food but definitely fast food. We ordered the whole rotisserie chicken, rice and beans, tortillas and grabbed a cup of the green verde salsa for a big dinner with family. It was quick, easy and good. Checked in for the free drink while we waited.

This is a review for the Fairfield location only, called in with my order and even though the food was ready 5 mins later when I arrived, the service was lacking. The young ladies working looked like they hated their jobs, I misunderstood the check in offer and the girl literally made go through the whole check in process only to tell me it was if I had purchased another item. I love the chicken tacos here but will go to Suisun instead, plus that location has a drivethru.

I used to love chicken I’m a faithful customer I come for lunch everyday but now I don’t wanna give them my money the food quality is horrible now there getting more rude charged me $ 6.00 for a burrito that was smaller then my hand I found hair in my food 2 times and I sat inside and ate they had ants and me and my husband found a ant crawling in my plate they over charge for a 2 piece thigh 7 dollars for 2 chicken thigh meal talking about u have to pay $ 3.00 to up size from a leg to a tight there Hella wrong I been eating g here since high school when they had the .79 cents tacos over 12 years I’m gonna tell all my friends and family not to go back

Didn’t feeling like cooking yesterday. So we picked up the 16 piece family pack. The food was great!!! Will be back very, soon

Chicken taco salad is awesome! Such a big serving and a great price! I ordered a soft chicken taco for my daughter and she loved it! Restaurants clean and staff is friendly. We called in and ordered ahead the food was ready when we arrived and neatly packed in a to go bag.

There are many places to eat on Texas St in Fairfield, CA. Fortunately for us, I Unilocaled ahead and found ourselves here for dinner after an eventful day traveling from SoCal and completing a Six Flags challenge (check out our adventures here:
). So, the four of us were pretty hungry and ready to eat some good food. As previously stated in other reviews, this restaurant is very similar to the El Pollo Loco franchise. There are beans, rice, and other assorted side dishes and then the main attraction, the rotisserie chicken. I’m going to be bold here and say that the chicken here is MORE flavorful than the aforementioned franchise. If Chicken Express was in our neck of the woods (SoCal) we would be frequent diners. Just other things to mention: The Pico de gallo is yummy. The green sauce is delicious. The tortillas are hot and fresh.

Food is really good I’ve been going to this place for years I do feel like customer service has has fell off some the owner is not that friendly or accomidating and they’ve messed up so many of my families orders and we live all the way in Vacaville so its not convenient to always drive back all the way to Fairfield all the time. When I call them about it they always say the next time we come in it will be on the house and that they are writing our names down so they know who we are but when the time comes to receive the compensated meal they act clueless as if the story has been completely fabricated or made up… I’m not one to usually trip off of little mistakes made here and there but to constantly mess up the orders over and over eventually becomes a problem. If I’m repeatedly spending my money at a establishment I would expect to get what I pay for and if I don’t for whatever reason then at least be accomidating and understanding towards the customers. Again the food is very tasty but the service is definitely lacking and it would be nice to have a different choice of cheese other then Cheddar like Monterey Jack or Mozzarella I’m not a big fan of yellow cheese or the Lard they use in their beans and rice. I prefer going to the one in Suisun better service in my opinion!

I only get the taco salad or crispy chicken tacos so I can’t speak on anything else here but it is awesome. Plenty of cheese, meat etc. Delicious!

I recently stopped by to pick up a family pack at this location for a girlfriend’s 30^th birthday. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal! Very reasonable, great quality and convenient to feed a family or larger party. I think there is room for improvement on their salsas, but other than that — Chicken Express is an excellent choice!

I can’t the chicken express in the mood for some good chicken they have different kinds of burritos and tacos I specially like the 8900 taco buy a sour cream too much more I definitely recommend chicken Express because I have rotisserie chicken

Tried the Fairfield one out today. We ordered the chicken family meal with Spanish rice and mashed potatoes for sides.
The Spanish rice had no flavor at all. The mashed potatoes were watery. The gravy had zero flavor.
As for the chicken, it was crap! Greasier than polo loco, with no flavor at all.
Bottom line. Their burritos and sandwiches may be good, but their chicken sucks!

I luv this place the chicken the tacos, burritos the pink lemonade cupcakes are to die for! If you are ever in the area check this place out you will luv it too!

First time I came here I got help from the cashier as what I should buy. Second time I got a special. Third time the lunch special. It’s clean and the food is so good.

Chicken Express is good but their establishment is filthy. Their bathroom is always dirty and they never have paper towels. There are always flies in the restaurant and that drives me insane, and there is always cartilage from the chicken in the meat for the tacos. They were better before they moved by Arco.

Love their chicken tacos with sour cream and salsas are good nice to take home and eat personally I don’t like the place to sit and eat even though they are very clean staff are friendly

Cheap, yummy chicken tacos! This place is a regular for me when I’m craving tacos! Their taco salads and burritos are also massive! They have a ton of sides to choose from also!

If you do one thing, do it right.
Chicken Express definitely embraces that. Chicken, baby. Roasted well and thrown in anything you want with sides to match the quality of that rotisserie goodness. I’m usually throwing down a nice double breast meal with some rice and beans, but I’ve given their burritos and such a whirl and they’re no let down either. Prices are super reasonable. Love the salsa too!
