I previously wrote about a bad haircut and wanting to get it fixed but they told me it had been too long for a free«redo». I emailed them and the owner apologized and offered my money back or a cut wth a top stylist so in my opinion THEYAREREDEEMED! He also said he would let his staff know to let him know if anyone ever complained again. Very professional. I’m happy now.

Based on David Mac’s rude response to one of the reviews, I have decided to NOT give this salon a chance! I am new to the area and am looking for a new salon. This was a salon that came highly recommended to me, but after looking at Unilocal and seeing a rude and unprofessional response to one of the reviews I have decided not to give this salon a chance! If this is how David Mac responds online I can only imagine how he treats his customers face to face! Totally disgusted!

This a «hit or miss» kind of place. With so much competition for salons, I’d say unless you have a stylist that you know and like there, don’t bother going there. It’s not the kind of place that has a lot of skilled stylists. It’s not the kind of place where you can go and take a chance. And, sometimes they’ll sell you another stylist if your stylist is behind and that never ends well because there is a HUGE variance in skill level across each stylist — per my experience there.

Unbelievable. I Scheduled an appointment for my 11 year old. When we got there they couldn’t find the appointment that we made earlier that day. There was no apology, no attempt to try to fix the situation. When I told the receptionist(who refused to give me her name, she said she was the owners sister in law) that I was upset she told me that I needed to get out or she would call the police. It was bizarre she kept telling me to lower my voice, when she was the one making a scene. Defensive does not even begin to describe her reaction. Has david mac not heard of customer service? This was on the coldest day of the year and my daughter was in shorts because we got dropped off right after her basketball game. Regardless that I didn’t have my car(we were dropped off) she made us wait outside in 10 degree weather. I have been to the salon many times before and will NEVERGOBACK.

The David Mac Salon is a fun place to chill! The staff are genuinely friendly and cool. The atmosphere is: friendly, neighborhood salon for men, women and social-climbing kids… w/loyal repeat biz. My cutter is Janet! She gives me a professional cut that is EXACTLY what I ask for! It’s the kind of cut YOU can re-create the look for ATHOME without a degree in hair science! Her price is nice and so is she! David is a great owner/host and offers OLDTIMEHOTSHAVES for yer manly man! They offer an super nice benefit of: FREE bang trims in btw/cuts! Love it!

I went here for a keratin treatment and let me tell you WORSTEXPERIENCE — my hair is FRIED after getting the treatment done, and this treatment is supposed to repair your hair … my hair was in better shape before i got the treatment done!!! highly disappointed. and I’ve had the exact treatment done at other salons, same brand and everything — the stylist must have done something wrong — either too high temp on the flat iron or left it processing for too long because I’ve never experience this before. my hair looks atrocious. save yourself the time, money and bad experience.

First let me say that I can not say enough GREATTHINGS about Amanda.(I can not vouch for others, I am sure there are other Superstars employed here as well…) I had a great working relationship going w/Amanda(she was coloring & cutting my hair every 4 to 6 weeks, depending on what I was doing — for aprox 5 months.) I have to say due to the overall customer service experience I had Amanda has lost me as a client, as well as the business that I brought in with services for my teenage daughter, sons, etc. When I call a salon looking to speak with my stylist ATHERCONVENIENCE(mind you) because I potentially want to add services for my next appointment — but want to get her input first & am told I CANNOTSPEAKWITHHER via the phone, that I’d have to make a consultation appointment(rudely, I might add) I am going to take my business($ 250+ per month) elsewhere. Sorry Amanda, I just love you but you know(as you said) that is complete bullshit. Best of luck to her — if she ever relocates to another group — I will DEFINITELY continue to utilize her services.

After my stylist of 13 years moved out of state, I tried this salon on the recommendation of a friend. I started out with their free stress-reducing conditioning treatment and blow-out to try it. I was so pleased that I made an appointment right then and there for a cut. Amanda listened carefully to what I wanted, looked at the photos I brought with me, and managed to give me a cut that I was happy with from day 1 to week 8 when I went back for another. Today I got a trim and I decided to go with some color. I have never been happier with the color of my hair. She stuck close to my natural color, but added some vibrance and a few face framing highlights. I can’t say enough good things about Amanda and the staff at David Mac. If you’re hesitant — try the free service first like I did!

INJUREDANDINSULTED While getting a blow dry I was shampooed first. The stylist was so careless she got my face so wet that my eye makeup was running down my face. She also did not condition my hair sufficiently. She proceeded to try and comb through my horribly snarled hair, which I NEVER get at home. She was ripping through it and scraping my ear. I was so on edge at this point wondering what kind of pain is she going to inflict next! The last torture was quite a bad BURN from the hair dryer. This was not a complicated service, wash and blow dry. I hated every minute of it. I hoped this would just be a one time thing and next time ask for someone other than Penny. When I called the receptionist was so indignant implying that I was making this up to try and get some free service!!! I was furious, she never apologized but basically implied I was lying. She said she would need to «discuss this with the owner» and get back to me. She called back and reluctantly offered the same service free of charge. Naturally I never went back but I did tell EVERYONE I know. DONOTGOTODAVIDMAC!!!

i have tried a million places and keep coming back to this. I love the stylists and I always get a great cut. Good customer service too-receptionists are incredibly nice.

Have had very mixed experiences here. Penny did my color a couple of times and was great. Had a new stylist cut my hair once, and had an awful experience, worst haircut ever. My daughter used to have her hair cut regularly by Jess, who was just awesome, but she left, and I don’t think we’ll be going back. Too high turnover with staff.

Worst cut/color I ever received. My usual salon was booked and I desperately needed a cut/color before I was in my friends wedding a few days later. I went in with a picture of my hair the last time I had it done so they could see exactly what I wanted. I just needed a partial head done and a trim. I left with disgusting pin stripe highlights that was nowhere near the color I already had in my hair, my hair is blonde, i get lighter and darker blonde highlights and lo-lights put in… why did i leave with reddish tinted hair? The cut was even worse, it was longer on one side then the other and my bangs were jagged and uneven. I left in tears and nobody offered to fix it or anything, they just asked when i would be back. TRYNEVER! i went right across the street to my salon in hysterics and they managed to fit me in and fix it. Apparently they have this happen all the time. Thanks for doing a real bang up job lena. I’ll be sure to never come back
