Service is horrible! No one greeted us, we were then seated by a waiter who didn’t smile or say Hi and walked away… then we waited, and waited, I used the restroom and while gone the waiter still hadn’t come by for the order or even to offer water. We waited, waited and then walked out. They were not overly busy so that wasn’t why! I won’t go back, service is important!

Service was terrible. We waited to be seated a couple minutes, then at least 10 minutes at our table they had not even got as far as saying hello. We got up, walked out, and went over to Sticky Rice(2 minutes away across the street) and they were fantastic. Won’t be going back there!

Ordered to-go so the review is just based on food. Its kinda tough to find good chinese food here in Fairfield but this place is very tasty. Order the beef with broccoli, beef fried rice and potstickers and everything was very good! Over the phone was told it would take only 20 minutes until it was ready but it did take about 40 or so. Will be back!

Had dinner here tonight. Had the chow mien, steamed shrimp and lobster tail. Food was really good. Had the high end today. However have ordered in the past beef broccoli, sweet and sour pork with chow mien for catering. Impressive Chinese food!

Kinda old school but I really like this place. We sometimes order takeout for movie nite and we appreciate the quality of flavor and textures they deliver. Crispy stuff comes to you really crispy, garlic dishes come with HELLA garlic(the way we like it) and all flavors are well balanced. They’re even thoughtful enough to cut little vents in the takeout containers so steam escapes and doesn’t make your crispies all squishy. And they pack some sauces separately so u can add the sauces at home for optimum texture preservation. Prices are fair and variety is good. We’re happy with Happy Garden.

I really liked the costumer service. The food was great — I ordered it to go. And the chow mein with beef was really tasty. The chow mein across the street at the fancy Sticky Rice restaurant was disgusting. I threw it out immediately. This place beats Sticky Rice, hands down!

First time I went in a waiter was sleeping on a booth. Food sub-par. Second time(only cause I was hungover and needed soup) I got Egg flour soup. Horrible! $ 8 for boiled water with some veggies. Go to Frank and Yuens.

I’ve been coming here since I moved to Fairfield. This is definitely a place we can always go to as a family. To-go or dine in the food is always great! Honey Walnut Prawns are definitely my favorite. They always have great lunch deals!

We tried this place 6 years ago when we first moved out to Cordelia and it was not good at all. Out of sheer desperation to try something different we gave them another shot. If you live out in Cordelia/Green Valley you know the struggle is real when it comes to decent food without driving into town or to Vacaville. Well, let me tell you, I don’t know what was going on 6 years ago but this place is fantastic now! We had Honey Walnut Prawns that were exceptional. The prawns were cooked perfectly and were not fishy at all(a good sign they were fresh). General Chicken, really good. Egg Foo Yung, super good. Fried rice and Chow Mein, perfect. We ordered 5 entrees total and the bill came to $ 67. It was easily enough for dinner for two and lunch for both of us the next day. We usually go to Green Bamboo, which has always been good to us by the way. But Happy Garden totally redeemed themselves with the quality of their food tonight. Oh, and the service was good too!

We’ve occasionally ate here since it opened. The servers have always been attentive to refill water and the wait is never too long for the food to arrive at your table. The menu consists of typical Chinese food fare and compared to the prices at the other nearby Chinese fusion restaurant, the prices here are very reasonable for Green Valley. The food is not bad; we always get the honey walnut prawns and Szechuan string beans. These are our«staples» in this place that never disappoint. Now about the ambience/atmosphere…I can’t quite put my finger on it since the décor is far from shabby and drab, but there’s just something missing. There’s nothing that generates any excitement to it, in fact the place seems a bit tired and maybe that affects how I feel about the food… ok but nothing to get excited about. Perhaps the place can use a more modern feel to it and more light to brighten it up. Until then, 3.5 stars — nothing much exciting but decent Chinese food at fairly reasonable prices.

Came here today after hitting up some spots in American Canyon and heading home to Suisun. My parents have been to this spot many times and we all finally got to go here together. The staff is incredibly friendly and the place is very clean. We ordered war wonton soup, chow mein Hong Kong style, sesame chicken, prawns and string beans and fried rice. The food was great! I’m not a hue fan of mushrooms and a couple dishes had them, but I ended up fishing them out. The prices are good especially for groups of at least four. I definitely enjoyed my time here and will come back for more soon!

I used to love Happy Garden, but the quality of the food and the service have gone downhill drastically in the past few years, while they have raised their prices considerably. We used to go to Happy Garden about six to seven times a year and now I’ll go only to pick up rice or pot stickers to go, and I always pay cash. They have a bad habit of double charging credit cards, and then not doing anything about it unless the customer calls them on it. When you do, they yell at you and say«You Lie!» even when you show them proof. They say it happens after they put in the tip(so first, they charge you $ 60, then they charge you $ 72), and the $ 60 charge will post to your account as a hold, and only will disappear after a few days. The second charge goes through. When I questioned the manager by phone about this the second time it happened, he said to me, «I know who you are! You are a bad tipper!» Really? How much should I tip you for handing me a bag of food over a counter? I thought 10% was a very nice tip! Now, cash only, small orders, no tip.

This place is crap. The food is terrible, the servers are rude, and the price isn’t even that good. I lived in China and I know what real Chinese food is supposed to taste like, this is not it. Its obvious these guys don’t care about their customers. I wouldn’t care about the bad service if the food was decent but it wasn’t. Only reason I’m not giving it one star is because I didn’t get sick.

I ordered over the phone and should have known better when I kindly greeted the person«Ken» and he didn’t respond. He took my order and I said thank you very much, he JUSTHUNGUPTHEPHONE without acknowledging my manners… Picked up my order, the place was no busy at all and delt with same person Ken, he cashed me out. I asked him did he speak english, he stated yes. I informed him that I had the phone order and had used mannerable words towards him and that he hung up on me. I questioned why doesn’t he smile or say thank you etc. He said,“ok ok ok”. I asked again, «do you understand english»? He said yes I do. He did understand very well BECAUSEHESPOKEITTOANOTHERCUSTOMER. I AMAFRICANAMERICAN. They were not. I cant come up with no other answer except RACIST. Ken yelled to the cook in his language and smiled. I guess he «prepared my food». All I ordered was shrimp fried rice and Mongolian Chicken, I asked for mild, it was HOT. My Shrimp fried rice was mixed with OLD rice. Really, the food was not ready when I arrived. I waited 10 minutes for the cook to prepare. What is the use of a phone order. It was like they gave me scraps!!! Be careful how you treat peolple that dont look important. Blue jeans and a tee doesnt make a person. I am a professional Clinician who dresses down on my days off and it certainly did not give KEN the right to treat me like SH$T ANDGIVEMEOLDFOOD. My experience was April 2, 2015. I dont care how good their food is, my hard earned money is much better appreciated elsewhere !!!

I haven’t found very many Chinese restaurants around town that I like, but this place is pretty good! One day at work I had a craving for Chinese food and my coworkers suggested I go to Happy Garden. Let me just say this. The Orange Chicken is amazing, so tangy and crunchy. Also, I would suggest the combination Chow Mein. Whenever I want soup, I get their wonton soup. I usually call ahead to order and they tell me it’ll take about 10 – 15 minutes. THEFOODISALWAYSHOT. I mean so hot, the steam burns a hole through the Styrofoam box it’s in. The people on the phone and at the counter are very pleasant, and make you feel welcomed. As far as pricing, they’re about average for a Chinese restaurant. You’re looking to pay about $ 9.99 per entrée.

First timer, have yet to find good Chinese food in Fairfield area. Located in a nice area, Atmosphere was nice, restaurant clean and well kept but can use a little upgrading from what was in my view… HOWEVER portion sizes were fair, taste of food was kinda bland didn’t really have that authentic flavor you would normally taste. Customer service needs a lot of work we had too much idol time between waiting on water to be delivered and time waiting to place our orders and we were the only other family beside another family in the entire restaurant. The food did come out fast but the temperature was not hot as if it was just prepared. While eating the waiter never NOTONCE came to check on us to see how everything was or if we needed anything. My husband needed sweet and sour sauce and had to actually had to wait for someone surface to request some. The ONLY time the waiter was timely is when he brought the check and he made sure to check back regularly for it be paid. Please recommend delicious, authentic food in Fairfield in a decent neighborhood with good customer service.

This is the only decent Chinese restaurant in Fairfield. There’s a few others but they lack ambiance. I usually have the salt and pepper shrimp(not on the lunch menu) but they will make it for you. Lemon chicken also on point. The rest of menu is typical Chinese fare. You also get egg drop soup to start off meal. Very good. The service is good. They serve wine and beer only. Give it a shot if your in the Greenvalley area. :)

Just passing through, visiting relatives, and we wanted to get take out for dinner… I miss good ol Cantonese food– and this hit the spot! I was surprised that being in Fairfield, that Happy Garden actually has chow fun on the menu– so we got that, garlic eggplant and kung pao, beef broccoli and a new favorite that i’ve never had– Cherry Pork. The Cherry pork was so yummy! I wish that I could find a place in So. Cal that makes it. Basically like sweet and sour pork, but sweeter and with maraschino cherries. It has that nice red sauce on it. The garlic eggplant was delicious and cooked just perfect! Service was super fast and friendly. I would recommend this place for good comfort food…

I’ve tried this place a couple of times and yet to find a dish that is amazing. However they are better than a few Chinese places around here. The food is a bit less oily and tastes fresh which is a plus. Which explains the higher priced food items then other places. However there is nothing that stands out for me except maybe their Honey Walnut Prawns. When we got there to order, we were NOT acknowledged for a good 10 minutes so we sat there about ready to bolt when my BF went to the cash register and waved the to go menu around. Finally the server who was taking orders and who had been glancing at us a few times made a surprised«OH, you want to order?». Well DUH, no we want to admire the décor(insert sarcasm). Also they left a paid to go at the register. A lady walked in and tapped her feet waiting and finally said out loud, «is this mine?» Then proceeded to open the bag and box and stick her face in it and then grabbed it and left. Ironic part is that after we paid and the lady handed our order, she made sure it was ours before we could take it and made a whole spiel about how a customer before took a huge order of food that was not theirs and that’s why she had to verify. YET the lady before us, you left at the register and hoped for the best? Service needs to be worked on people and get organized.

Clean restaurant. Nice ambience. Food is great for the price. Food is freshly made, delivered quick, tasty, right amount of sauce on the general chicken. They even custom made it with more spice to entice my taste buds. Totally surprised why this place wasn’t packed with people. This is probably my 5th visit I think to this place and every time I have been here the food is great. I live in LA and I am on an official visit. This is good Chinese food and is priced reasonable too. Great place for a quiet family dinner.
