I hired Cristin’s law firm to handle a divorce for me while being stationed out of state in the military. Prior to hiring, I asked if she was familiar with a military divorce, and was told yes. The initial conversation went well and I gave them a retainer. After doing so It quickly became obvious that this was not the case. She was not familiar with my benefits and when I asked if they had a list of things that would be considered in a military divorce, they had no idea what I was talking about. I spent close to $ 4000.00 and all that happened was she filed the paperwork. There were long periods of no communication, documents were sent to me with other peoples names, the first person handling my case quit, and I was subsequently forgotten about. I was charged for every little thing, even when they had to redo it due to an error. When ever I made contact I felt as if I was an after thought and never a priority. When my retainer balance got below the minimum, I was contacted and told to pay more into the account. When I question the need to do that with them not even having talked to my wife’s representation, the conversation quickly became threatening and very aggressive about me paying more money. It was explained to me that if I didn’t immediately pay the back up the retainer, that I would be dropped as a client. It was after this I told them I no longer wanted them to represent me in my case. They quickly ceased all communications, and I was more or less screened at the front desk when I called about getting my refund for the amount not used in my retainer. I came back from Alaska to California to get my refund and my file, at which point I had been told everything had been shredded. I was able to finally get my file, it had not been shredded, but it still took me 6 months to get my refund, even after repeated attempts and conversations to get it. I come from a very rigid and structure lifestyle, and wanted something very similar in regards to my divorce, and thought I was going it get it, but didn’t. If you are in the MILITARY DON“T GO HERE.

Now don’t take this in an offensive way but when it comes to DIVORCE, you want to get the biggest, meanest pitbull on your side. That bullshit about being cordial with each other, is out the window and all gloves are off. You both have something the other wants and both of you guy$ want to keep, $$$.
I would highly recommend the Law Office of Cristin Lowe because she tries to keep cost down by using paralegals to do some of the work, keeps communication to a minimum and because I got my case won. As other lawyers would say, they’re willing to talk with you as long as you’re paying their hourly rate. With Cristin, we just meet before court (while she’s on the clock anyway), exchange information and update each other about what’s going on. Sure there’s times where there’s no communication with her but I learned that it cost $$$ to talk with my lawyer.
I first came across Cristin while I was representing myself during court hearings. The stress of going through a divorce is hard enough but to try and make sense of legal terminology is very stressful. When I meet with Cristin, she answered all my questions, drew up a battle plan and explain our objectives. After many sleepless nights, I hired her and it felt like a ton of bricks were lifted off my back. I got Cristin to do all the worrying for me while I concentrated on my children and work. ***best money I’ve ever spent*****
She would call me before our court date and told me what to expect in court. During court, she very professional and presentable and she has a great rapport with the judge and court staffs. During questioning, she is very deliberate, gets to the point and stern. To the point where I felt sorry for my ex.
All the staffs from Josh, Melissa, Alexis were very helpful, courteous and friendly throughout their service. I hope I don’t have to use her services again. LOL

This attorney is a disaster to work with.
The first thing the judge did in court on my husbands child custody case was ream Cristin M. Lowe for submitting redacted documents in the plaintiffs deposition. He told her she is what makes all lawyers look bad and instructed her to provide the court with corrected copies before she left the building.
Then she pulls my husband in for a meet and confer after the judge hands down his child custody order and starts modifying it while she’s typing it up. It was already an emotional day and she took advantage of my husband not having an attorney present so he gave some concessions which only benefited the plaintiff and signed the documents.
He received a copy by email and we started making plans for his children’s visits based on the order she sent us. During the weekend we receive an email from her that a major typo was discovered and the document that was supposed to be filed with the court 2 days before is still sitting on her desk over a long holiday weekend.
She was so busy changing the judges orders that she contradicted his orders, that all parties signed and agreed to and it is now «unenforceable» in her words and can’t be filed.
She had the nerve to say that the judge would only voice his displeasure at both parties involved if she were to have to go back in an emergency junction to get the problem fixed. Really? Seems to me she’s the one who screwed up and just doesn’t want to face him again.
Use this attorney at your own risk or if you’re on the receiving end, beware.

First off, the Law Office of Cristin M Lowe did eventually get my divorce taken care of. That being said, I’m extremely dissatisfied in how we got there. Bottom line, I cannot recommend this law firm. On the contrary, I recommend you hit the «Back» button and look for someone else. If you’d like details on why, please read on.
I contacted them based on the glowing reviews of Cristin Lowe I found online, only to discover that I was assigned a different lawyer. That’s fine, I thought. I’m sure that her associates are more than able to competently assist me. Plus it would save me $ 75 an hour…
I was required to get a retainer of $ 5000 and was told that most divorces would be done well before that, and that I would get some of it back most likely. I filled out all the paperwork and sent a packet of probably 20 pages worth of printouts detailing all my finances for the divorce.
Over the length of the divorce I repeatedly had to resend pieces of this packet. My attorney would email «What’s the total on this account?» to which I would reply «Page 4 of the packet is a printout of the account details to include balance and date». I also had to repeatedly state my goals in the divorce, what I would like to happen and where I could be flexible. Not exactly an ideal situation when you are being charged $ 60 PER EMAIL CORRESPONDENCE.
I did my divorce out of state. Being in the military I was permitted to «appear» in court via conference call. On our court date, my attorney suggested that I could offer to cover the expenses of drafting the final divorce decree since it’s normally covered by the plaintiff. I declined this option and we were able to settle things without my agreeing to that.
I assumed that my costs were done, but when the judge asked who would be drafting the final paperwork, over the phone I hear my lawyer say «I will». When I politely asked about this after court, my lawyer stopped talking to me for TWO MONTHS. Zero. No reply whatsoever. I had to contact accounting to get a reply and still didn’t ever receive an explanation for the silence. Finally, I was given no option but to pay the fees to draft the final documents.
During a SECOND two-​month stretch, I did not receive any word from my attorney, despite weekly emails politely asking for the status of the divorce. This occurred during the two months preceding the date that my divorce was supposed to be final. As a result, I didn’t get the documents until three months later than that date and, being a member of the military, I am still dealing with the repercussions of being overpaid for those three months.
One of my accounts that was divided in the divorce required very specific wording in the divorce decree, which I relayed very clearly to my attorney before the decree was drafted. When I received the draft, this wording was not in there, and I had to send it back. If you think about this, I’m getting charged $ 60 for her to answer emails she apparently doesn’t even read!
And again, my ex’s attorney requested paperwork related to the change I requested. In turn, my attorney requested it from me, and I had to point out she already had it. So I got charged for an extra round of communications with my ex’s attorney and for drafting the new copy of the paperwork.
So, these are just a few of the many examples. There is much much more, and I have emails to back it up, but this review is already getting long. Contact me if you’d like more details.
All told, my divorce cost me about $ 9k. Thankfully it’s over, but I cannot under any circumstances recommend this law firm. Not if you threatened to pull out my fingernails one by one. I felt looked over and unimportant during the entirety of the process. I cannot say that the «expertise» they offered gave me any kind of edge over a much less expensive option. Unless you’d like to pay a premium to be ignored and keep resending paperwork, I’d suggest… well… just about anyone else.

When I first called in, I spoke with one of her assistants who were very knowledgeable and friendly. After the phone call, I got an email with the information we talked about, an appointment reminder, and directions. I met Cristin a week later and immediately knew I found my attorney. She was by far the most knowledgeable of several attorneys I met, and her billing structure was significantly cheaper (I did billing for a while, although the hourly $ is the same, her structure favored the client). After my hour of meeting with her, I left feeling I knew where my case was going, and more importantly felt like I had some control on how my divorce actually proceeded.
My ex got a «more experienced» attorney, who in the end didn’t know his name and rung up a bill costing about three times more than mine. Even worse, when asked in court what his client’s salary was, his attorney couldn’t find it in the binder she brought in. After what seemed like an eternity of shuffling through her folders, the judge looked to us and Cristin cited it, down to the penny, off the top of her head, even quoting the very large bonus that he just received. The rest of the hearing followed those lines and was basically over before it started. I got everything I wanted and more. Cristin’s an amazing lawyer and I felt taken care of every step of the way. There is no way she could have known my case so well and had been so successful in my divorce if she wasn’t personally vested in what she does.
