Funny the spots you take for granted. Aren’t old shoes the most comfortable? I’ve dined here for over 20 years, rarely in the last few. But, the new modern décor is pleasant and creates a more intimate atmosphere. The wine list is predominantly regional Italian w a few Californian. I rarely write about pricing. But it’s of note that, one can still dine in a relaxing modern atmosphere, enjoy a very good $ 8 glass of Italian wine & have a Classic Italian meal for $ 14 in lower Fairfield County. Started w the tortellini in Brodo. The broth had a nice chicken flavor but not overly rich, the meat tortellini was average. A real stand out is the smoked mozzarella appetizer w a ton of shaved prosciutto over greens. Excellent! This is a large appetizer to be shared or even enjoyed as a meal w their famous hot fresh pizza bread. The eggplant parm was anything but a dried out slab of fried eggplant smother in red sauce & cheese. It was tender, fresh, layered w velvety buttery mozzarella, delicate hot goodness. Very satisfying. With a side of angel hair w a sauté of garlic in olive oil was the perfect side. The vongole(cherry stone clams) was a smaller portion but the clams were abundant & tender. And the red sauce kept its bright red fresh tangy flavor. Gluten fee pasta offered. House made fresh linguini. The menu offers all of the classic Italian standards w a few creative options. Specials only on the weekends. Service is ok– not super attentive, slightly brisk and our server should have had an understanding of the menu’s dish preparation & ingredients.

Prices are great, but the food is subpar. We ordered a pizza(they don’t have pineapple!) and the woman on the phone was friendly, enough. However, when we went to pick up our order, there was an older woman, dark curly hair, who was absolutely obnoxious. She didn’t say one word to us except«Can I help you?!» in a rushed, annoyed tone. She didn’t look up, and after taking the credit card, she threw it back, and it slid across the counter. I said«thank you, have a good night» and no reply. No «thank you» or «enjoy,» or «have a good night. Come again.» We won’t be coming back here, again. The two stars were for the $ 10 large pizza. Too bad it was tasteless, had almost no cheese on it, crust was stale, and they don’t have pineapple. Their bread is great, though. Their woman they keep behind the cash register is horrendous though. I’d let it slide, but it’s not the first time she’s been so rude. It’s almost purposeful. I’m convinced she seems to go out of her way to despise me.

This a bit sentimental as I haven’t lived in Fairfield since 1974BUT this was my favorite! I have been back over the years and it still held up as great. I know there are the New Haven satellites in Fairfield now and I can imagine that they are beyond divine, but I would come here first if given the chance.

We love coming here. Foods always great, we always set our intentions to try new entrees and always wind up ordering pizza because it is so good and smells so delicious when you walk in!!! But in an effort to not eat the pizza every time, we preserve and order entrees… most of the time! Service is great, ambience is perfect like a quaint little Italian restaurant, and I highly recommend this place for a nice dinner. Come casual or upscale :)

This is our go to place. we love the food, the atmosphere and the staff treats us like family! They are the nicest people! They make the best pizza in town, but their other entrees are always great! Always! We had a great party there with 40 friends and it was amazing! The staff was attentive, Guilio helped plan the perfect menu. our friends were blown away. Seriously we’d give them more stars if we could!!! My husband devours the linguine w red clam sauce like his own mama made it! And he’s crazy about the eggplant parm. My faves include the Fettuccine Selvatiche and the Timballo di Melanzane. We always start out with the sautéed broccoli rabe. Check out the weekend menu where Guilio flexes his culinary muscles and offers delicious specials!

The pizza is always top notch. The homemade ravioli was horrible. Very hard edges, a drop of ricotta and a paper thin layer of cheese inside. Most upsetting is they didn’t care when I questioned it. It may have been at least a year but I remember thick large ravi’s.those days are gone. I have talked this place up for over 15 years as the best pizza in CT. After the manager shrugged off our concerns my days of recommending this place are also gone.

I’d love to give more stars because the food seems pretty good, and was highly recommended, but the service my group of 9 and I had was absolutely terrible! Went in for lunch today, a Tuesday afternoon, at around 11:15ish. Aside from the waitress having no clue how to rearrange tables to be able to fit us(with the restaurant being completely empty) she overall had no idea what she was doing! Ok…so, here’s the summary: Our group was finally situated and seated, and at the same time politely mentioned we didn’t have a ton of time, as we had to get back to work. After mentioning this, the waitress walked away(to get menus we assumed), but basically didn’t come back! We waited almost 5 – 10 minutes for her to come back with menus, to the point one of the people in our group just got up to go get them herself. Another person had asked for some bread when she seated us, but that came only after asking several more times(when the waitress finally came back to us). During this ridiculous wait, two other diners had walked in, were seated a few tables away, had drinks, water, and food ordered before we even got the menus from her. After the waitress got them their bread, drinks, and took their orders, it still took her another 5 minutes for her to FINALLY come and take our drink orders! Mind you, this is now about 15 minutes now after we sat down. We asked if we could place drink and food orders, as we were now very crunched for time and about to walk out. It took her a few minutes to comprehend this, and we then proceeded. When it was my turn to order, I asked what the soup of the day was(it said on the menu they had pasta fagioli, tortellini with broth, and a soup of the day), and she said pasta fagioli and tortellini broth were the choices. I said, ok, what about the soup of the day it says on the menu is an option? It took literally about a minute for her to comprehend what I was asking, and someone else in the group finally told me they never have one! Ok… In any case, after this small conversation, I ended up ordering the tortellini soup. Food finally comes around 12:00(yup, we’re at 45 minutes now for lunch), and guess what? My soup was never ordered! I asked where the soup was and she looked at me like I had two heads. She asked if I still wanted it, as everyone had a plate in front of them… did she think I’d say no, I prefer to watch everyone else eat!!! This, unfortunately, wasn’t even the biggest problem. Her overall service and attitude stunk. I was told after we left by someone else in the group she even had the audacity to roll her eyes behind me during the soup conversation. Even worse, she charged me for it! I certainly wasn’t looking for a freebie, but c’mon! Even if she offered to take it off the tab, I would have said no, as I don’t require anything but an apology and/or correction, but there was none whatsoever! Just eye rolling I found out after. Essentially, I will never go back to this place… and its a shame because it was highly recommended by someone in our group, to the point she felt awful for even bringing us there. If I have the time, I may even call the owners later, as I am a business owner myself and know that you cannot always trust employees to mind the shop when the owners are away(my friend who frequents there said they were not there, and this was out of the ordinary service). I feel more bad for my friend though, as she felt so terrible for us having to endure this terrible service…

Was there today with a small sized party(8). We were seated by the waitress who was immediately overwhelmed. She couldn’t figure out how to arrange the tables/seats to seat us. We tried to make suggestions(which were ignored) and ended up having to sit at two separate tables. Two tables could have been placed together to remedy this issue. She then sat a party of two while ignoring us. They were seated served drinks and bread with their order taken before we finally went and got OURSELVES menus. This other party was served and out the door before we even got drinks! We told the waitress we were on a limited time which seemed to make her move even slower. I was midorder when she stopped listening to me so I had to have another memeber of our party order my beverage. She didn’t bring one member of our party her order and when reminded about it she got upset and rude. She continually rolled her eyes at this member of our party behind her back. She also spilled another member of our party’s meal and when asked for something to clean it up with she rolled her eyes took a napkin off the table and poorly cleaned up the mess. She never apologized for spilling over half of the meal. As a former waitress and restaurant manager I was horrified with this. I have been to this location before and was pleased, but after today’s experience I don’t think I’ll be returning and will not recommend Luigi’s to anyone.

Excellent food. I have had many a meal from Luigi’s — but never a bad one. Numerous pizzas with various toppings, the usual plus my white pizza with clams and hot peppers and things like that. Good, reliable pizza. Have enjoyed a large number of selections from the dinners — all very good. Food-wise, Luigi’s is great. It really is, I wish I lived closer — I’d have their food much more often. I’m not in love with the layout of the dining room — it is a bit crampy for my taste. I pretty strongly dislike the parking situation there. There are a few spaces right up against the building(which I prefer to leave alone in case someone handicapped or going for takeout comes along) and then parking in the back and other parking elsewhere shared with a variety of stores. It seems that employees and other stores might use the parking up around the back because it seems pretty well used even when they aren’t that busy. But regardless of those things, I can’t knock off a star because I enjoy the food too much. It is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the entire area.

The food is very good. I think the portions are adequate. Not sure why there were capers on the chicken francaise? I usually see them on chicken piccata. Anyway — it was good. The pizza is always good. I have to say– good good but poor service. That alone would rate 2 stars. I could not believe how short and unhelpful our service was. If service improves– I will go back. No food is worth it. I also wish more desserts were homemade. Thankfully — the service provider told me they weren’t. Sigh

Love the food here. It’s my sons favorite! Very fresh and authentic food. The best Italian in town. You can’t miss with anything on the menu but the pizza, bread and grilled chicken salads are my favorites.

Spaghetti with meat was disappointing. Almost no meat in the sauce. If I wanted spaghetti and marinara, I would have ordered that. I will not be going back.

I’ve been eating from here since probably before I could walk. They actually used to call my father up to pick up an «oops» pizza at random. Wonderful people working here and great food. The wife and I did quite a bit of dining in here when we lived down the street. It leaves a bit to be desired(noise and tightness, but it’s a small joint). However, there is a lot to say for being reliably good for three decades. Seriously, I can’t believe the Apizza Center lasted as long as it did next to this place.

If comparing this to the famed video game Super Mario Brothers, Luigi’s sure lives up to his character and by that I mean I would rather go to Mario’s restaurant than Luigi’s. This place is so-so; The service is friendly and quick, and the prices are fine, but the food really isn’t all that good(plus you don’t get a lot of it). We had their lasagna and a pumpkin ravioli special, but the lasagna really didn’t stand out and there weren’t too many raviolis so I left feeling we probably wouldn’t be back.

Very good place. Bread was awesome, insalata mista very good. Had spaghetti and meatballs after changing my mind on dinner like 6 times. The meatballs had a bit too much bread but were still good. Most of the other patrons in there seem like regulars.

One of the better places in Fairfield if you appreciate greasy pizza with good sauce. They use cheap cheese, but I really like their pizza and have enjoyed it for year. Reasonable price point too.

Came here for the first time on a Thursday night because of a Groupon. The deal was an appetizer and 2 entrees — no restrictions — good deal. We actually tried to go a few weeks earlier — tried to call to make a reservation, but there was no response or answering machine saying that they were closed so we thought they might have just been too busy to answer the phone. Went by anyway and saw they were in fact closed without a note on the door(Friday night). Attempt number 2 — the place was less than half full and we got seated in the back corner. Waitress seemed friendly, but was frazzled as if she had to take care of a full restaurant. Appetizer — Funghi di Bosco — Mushrooms were good. Polenta was nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Entrees — per the menu, «Famous» Eggplant parm — not that great. The eggplant was very thin so it was mostly batter. The whole thing was also fairly soggy. I also found it odd that in between the layers was a bunch of basil. Was expecting more from their signature dish. It came with a side of homemade pasta — which didn’t have that fresh homemade pasta texture I was expecting… it actually just tasted like it was from a box. Filet Mignon — looked like it was about a 3oz steak — it was just ok. Wouldn’t come here again — there are better Italian restaurants in the same area.

I happen to live a few minutes away from this restaurant but never felt inclined to go there until I saw a Groupon deal. The interior seems nice. The hostess wasn’t very friendly. The waitress was a sweetheart but appeared overwhelmed. Service was slow. The food was okay. The portion size of the fried calamari appetizer was huge. Our entrees took forever. Once they arrived we were disappointed. The portion size of the sole and chicken was on the smaller side. The sides were supposed to be grilled veggies. We only got about 4 – 5 pieces of undercooked veggie and potato. Out food was beyond super salty. We couldn’t finish it. If I was to ever go back I would likely stick to the pizza or pasta dishes.

Their pizza kicks ass(best in the area!) and their entrees are very consistent. Along with their friendly waitstaff, the service is great — they all help each other out. Luigi’s will always be a regular spot in our rotation for me and my family.

Love this place! Pizza is the closest I have come to my childhood favorite jersey pizza joint. Their marinara is excellent! the menu is well laid out with lot of choices. Try it all you wont be disappointed. The staff is friendly and has been there forever. They help make this a great institution in ffld. The salad dressing is amazing and keeps me coming back. Only problem is they often forget to include the dressing on my takeout order. B sure to remind them — its worth it!
