To be honest I am a bit biased about this bar. My father has been going here since 2010 and since he passed earlier this month, I’ve been frequenting this place whenever I feel the need to hear a story about him from a fellow vet. Dive bar is the epitome of Parkway. The owner here is as blunt as they come and the service is just as nice or rude as you treat them. Fortunately they’ve all been exceptionally nice to me. Two pool tables, two TVs, and a jukebox is what’s available for entertainment. An ATM is available for those that need it and if you’re lucky they may have some homemade food available. TBH, there’s hardly anything to eat so chips is all you choose from.

I remember this place from 4 years ago only because I have never been embarrassed so much in my life. My husband’s co-worker had a retirement party here and we were told we could bring children because it was in the back. I didn’t know what that meant because I wasn’t told THISWAS A BAR, I was just told I was invited to come. I walked in… the place smelled awful and they had this thing where you have to turn the corner to see what was INSIDE the building my first thought was WTFTHISIS A BARIMLEAVING when I saw what it was but that was interrupted because some Asian lady started screaming at me to get out. I was already halfway turned to leave with my son after seeing the place. Everyone in the bar(I couldnt even see how many people but probably a handful) looks at me cause she is screaming at me to get out and then before I am out the door I hear her say«what kind of mother takes her child into a bar?». I was BEYOND mortified because I would never have taken my child in there willingly if I had been CORRECTLY informed… hell I wouldn’t have even taken MYSELF there willingly if I knew what a crappy place it was in the first place.

Three guys walk into a bar and orders three drinks from the female bartender. The bartender, who is also the owner and happens to be Korean, approximately in her mid 50’s, tells the three guys if they want to hear a joke. The guys, who didn’t dare resist replied, «But of course.» So she proceeds to tell the joke in a thick Korean accent and she starts laughing hysterically after she tells the joke. The guys, who look at each other and in all intensive purposes, didn’t want to offend the owner started laughing with her. After she leaves, the guys look at each other and asked what the punch line was… if any. After every one came to a conclusion that none was given, they began laughing hysterically amidst the confusion. «WTF was that all about?» everyone wondered. «Did that really happen?» they asked one another. That was the weirdest and oddest thing they had ever experienced. Speak for yourself, said another. Then she came back and asked if that was the funniest joke they’ve ever heard. But of course, each one replied. Then she said, «You lying Son’s of Bitches!» True f*cking story. A real definition of a dive bar: Lots of odd characters(some vets), stiff drinks, not the prettiest of places and lots of ugly-looking girls who think they all that taking selfie pics and mugging for the camera inside. There’s a pool, a jukebox, Karaōke and good beer on tap. That’s all you need to know.

Parkway Lounge is a great spot. The owner is friendly and attentive. She takes good care of the patrons. There are a couple of nice televisions and the karaōke and jukebox sound systems are first-rate. I like to visit Parkway Lounge because the other patrons speak to me whether they know me or not. How cool is that? Besides, there is yummy food nearby for when you get hungry. I feel appropriately dressed in either sneakers and jeans or in heels and a skirt. I hope to be a Regular here one day.

Good neighborhood(a.k.a. «Dive») bar. The owner, Joon, frequently runs the bar in the evenings, although several young girls work there during the day. While this is a neighborhood bar, it is a bar located outside the gate of Travis A.F.B. so you can consider it a military bar too, which is just fine. Patrons frequently come to the Parkway for the availability of karaōke. Friday and Saturday nights can be a happening place if you enjoy karaōke. Joon is a wonderful host/owner and she is always quick to offer you a bite to eat if you’re hungry. But what makes this place like what makes so many neighborhood bars is the regulars. Most of the regulars are current or retired military and are very friendly and welcoming to newcomers. I’ve stopped into the Parkway Lounge many times over the years whenever I’ve been to Travis. It’s not a place to expect to see a lot of eye-candy, but it is a great place to get a drink and always feel welcome.

Horrible hole-in-the-wall. A group of us went on a Saturday night and the bartender gave us nothing but attitude. We went there after another bar had closed early so we were still looking to have a good time with some drinks and shooting pool. When we arrived the female bartender was very rude about asking for our I. D’s. Of course the place being a bar we had no problem showing our I.D.s but the way she asked to see them was rude. The entire time we were there she was giving us a stank attitude and she even had the owner come ask one of our friends to check their I.D. AGAIN! You would think that for people who are first time patrons at your place, you would treat them better. This place sucks. dirty bathrooms as expected… a girl singing karaōke like she was auditioning for American Idol… and stank attitudes from the owner and especially this female bartender. We will never be back again… which is sad because it looks like they really need the business!
