Fantastic service at this eyeglass store. Everyone is super friendly and helpful which is no surprise as the owner, Joe Stizakowski leads by example. This is a no pressure store where the goal is to get you glasses that fit you perfectly and within your budget. No sly attempts to make you choose the more expensive option. Go once and you will join the rest of Joe’s loyal customers.

When I first came in and started looking at the high end frames, the staff member who served me was very nice. Acted like we were best buds. Then it took seven or eight weeks for my glasses to come in. Seemed kinda slow. The frames fit perfectly in the store. Nice and snug when I chose them from the display. I was so happy that I had ordered glasses that fit well. Glasses finally arrive and to my horror, they are about an inch too wide and don’t even stay on my face. The same staff member did a little adjustment for me upon pick-up but sort of acted like he was too busy to deal with me. Took the glasses home and tried my best but the they just kept falling off my head. Took them back and the guy says, «Well, your lenses are thick and going to naturally push these types of frames wider.» I mentioned that he should have explained that to me before I shelled out the big bucks and asked him for advice on what he felt would not fall off my face. Disgruntled, he led me to other frames and went about ordering me a different pair of glasses. The second round arrived in about another seven or eight weeks. Suddenly, this guy pretends like he has no clue who I am. Different from before when I was a first time buyer and shelling out some heavy scratch. This time they fit well and I was happy but the sales guy didn’t really care. He just wanted me out of the store. Are they about helping people get the right fit for their lenses or are they about the profit? Seems like the two should go hand in hand. I’ve steered several people away from this place since. My «buddy» at Pearl Vision turned out not to be my friend in the end.

I would have to agree with the other reviewer who mentioned Joe and his wizardry. My father in law is visiting from overseas, we are staying in a hotel in Fairfield, when his frame cracks at 5:30 in the afternoon. We run up to Pearl Vision, an hour before they close, and Joe has fit the lenses into a new frame, and ordered him a second pair for a backup. All in one hour. Saved his, and our vacation. I could not recommend him enough. Now only if I didn’t live in MA…

Joe Strizakowski, an optician at Pearle Vision on Black Rock Turnpike, is a kind of miracle worker! He took the eyeglasses I had mangled and somehow, very gingerly, straightened them out. I thought I was going to have to buy a new pair. He saved me hundreds of dollars and would not accept payment for his efforts. I’m going back. Wouldn’t you?
