Another tasty winemaker which many folks will miss as they storm through Jameson Canyon, desperate to overpay for a bottle of cab… Explore Suisun Valley, wine-minded Unilocalers… they’re doing some good work and could really use the business.

I just happened to come across this place as they were giving a tour and I took part in the tour. The tour was informative and fun. The tour guide, also the winery owner, talked about the different grapes and how to grow them and which conditions are good for the various grapes that this particular winery grow. He showed us where the grapes are fermented and explained procedures done to the grapes in making the wine. The finishing touch was the winery owner sold us bottles directly from the barrels!!! We got wine from the barrels that has not yet been bottled. It was the most special experience. If you come to this part of Napa Valley book this tour in advance by calling the winery. You won’t be disappointed. The wine maker was there also. The winery is off the beaten path with no signage.

I was lucky enough to be invited to a tasting here by a friend. I NEVER would have found this place otherwise, it’s totally off the beaten path, but a very worthwhile stop. The grounds are beautiful, and you definitely have a feeling of being out in the country,(the barn helps with that.) They had numerous wines available to taste. I couldn’t get through all of them, but I enjoyed the ones I did taste. I never would have expected such a lovely and interesting winery so far off the beaten path, but what a pleasant surprise!

Tenbrink is a very interesting winery in the middle of the Suisun Valley in Fairfield. I’d been driving by this area many many times and had no idea it was there. Not only do they make their own wines, they sell grapes to other wineries and also provide veggies/fruits too restaurants. We came by their beautiful red barn and house where they were hosting tastings of various wines. Pulled pork BBQ was offered and over 20 wines were being poured. It’s very interesting that something so close to Napa off the beaten path can offer some really interesting avant garde wines that end up in some of the finest establishments.
