If you ever have fantasies about being a bum digging through garbage and finding your next meal in it, come here to get your kicks without gettin dirty or beat up by another homeless guy lookin for nourishment. It’s funny that it’s called a garbage plate but it’s really a mishmash of summer picnic foods all on one plate. It’s that simple yet it’s pretty messy and very enjoyeable! This really aughta be a sometimes meal as the calories from a frequent noshapalooza can quickly pile up. Watch out! Sometimes I dream about them offering grilled veggies thrown into the heap… maybe one day. It’s also pretty carb heavy with the taters, mac salad and bread but they balance it out with a buncha greasy protein like burgers n dawgs which are hots in western NY. The white hot was invented up here and we Rochesterians just can’t get enough! It’s even the official food of The Buffalo Bills and besides all that, everyone I know loves em and this is a good place to get a white hot fix. Wow that sounds dirty! Anyways Fairport hots apparently got so busy they expanded to Penfield Hots and cest la vie, history is made. They are keeping up the tradition of Nick Tahoes, the OG of the garbage plate but it’s nice that I don’t hafta travel to the inner city to fill up on this type of fare. Which just goes to show you, you can eat like a bum without having to be one. Thanks Fairport!

Hots too hot. Ordered a plate and asked for no hot sauce, but they put it on anyways. Wouldn’t be a big deal but the hot sauce was too much. It took over the taste of everything, and was far too hot. I’d go here again, but wouldnt get the hot sauce and disappointed that the home fries were over done. It’s a downer they dont take cards. A good thing is the speedy service.

This is my favorite hots place around Rochester. Their home fries are always crispy, and their hot sauce is on point. If you’ve never had a garbage plate, do it.

We were wowed by how incredibly delicious our food was, and by how amazingly kind and generous the staff were. Our family of six descended on this clean bright joint and we had hot well made burgers, hot dogs and a plate in minutes. When my son became upset that he had changed his mind on what he wanted too late, the staff overheard him and made him a complimentary replacement sandwich. How sweet is that? The kids meals all come with 20 bottled drinks — quite a value. I got a steak and cheese plate. The steak was seared crisp, and got a little lost amid all the cheese, hot sauce and sides but the flavor and texture were on point. Not at all mushy as usually happens with garbage plates. They had a huge variety of plates including pulled pork, shaved chicken — I’ll be back to try more! Come hungry.

Average hots service is good and quick, very clean this is the reason I keep coming back. I like that they try new menu items.

The hot sauce was too hot, had a bad taste. Couldn’t finish/eat it even after scraping it off the food on the garbage plate.

Great plate without the drive downtown. Hot sauce is right on. We’ve ordered to-go at least a dozen times, 100‰ accuracy rate so far. Their fries single order is big enough to share.

I came with co-workers for lunch. I just had a cheeseburger and fries. They seemed to love the hot sauce on their hamburger plates. The place seemed clean and cheery. Downside: Cash Only They do have an ATM there.

I understand that this is not the original«garbage plate». I have been to Nick Tahou’s and many other«hots» places since relocating here years ago. There are some very good plates out there, but this is the best. That mac salad is so creamy, so unlike any mac salad I’ve ever tasted, you WILL crave it once you leave. Everything is fresh, never«thrown together». The dogs are always grilled so perfectly, the burgers are sizzling hot. The meat sauce is definitely some of the spiciest available, I’ve learned to get half the standard amount and it still works. The beans are out of this world and the bread is always incredibly soft and fresh. This is the place to go for plates, never been disappointed. Thank you for years of good food F Hots, we love you!

Not as good as it used to be, but still a great place. Food has gotten a little worse and hot sauce isn’t what it used to be.

Love Fairport hots, and its about 1⁄8 of a mile from my house. They have 3 – 4 specials my favorite being the bacon cheeseburger, you get the burger, drink, mac salad and fries all for about $ 8. They do not accept cards which is my only problem with it

This place used to be amazing. Now that it looks a whole lot nicer, the food has gotten worse. I only get a chance to go once a year when I’m in town and when I went last week it was disgusting. I ordered a double cheeseburger plate; the thing I’ve been ordering there for almost 10 years. The cheeseburgers were completely pink, except for the outside. The home fries were not crisp, but the mac salad and hot sauce were pretty good. I had to throw most of my plate out because I was grossed out by the completely pink burger. I think I won’t be going back to Fairport hots when I’m in town anymore. How disappointing since this has always been my favorite place to get a plate!

I’ve never been to Nick Tahou’s or anything, keep planning on it, but I can’t imagine it could be that much better than Fairport Hots. Whenever I’m in the eastern Rochester area, I try to hit up Fairport Hots at least once. The Jr. Varsity(Garbage) Plate is freakin $ 6 and it’s like 6 lbs of food. It’s massive, and that’s the smallest plate you can get. Load it up with the hot sauce, onions, ketchup, and I swear your arteries will be clogged right quick. Plus they’re now expanding the joint, so it will be much bigger in a few months. Hope the currently low prices don’t increase to pay for this expansion!

I’ve only had garbage plates here but I have to say they’re about the best around. Great food in this little dive. Bring cash and carry out and you’ll be pretty happy but bring CASH because for some reason they may be one of the only places left in the world that doesn’t take credit cards, although there is an ATM in the place. REVISED: I have now expanded my palate and tried the red hots version of the plate and I like it even more than the burger ones. This place has really good food. They need to get with the times and take credit cards. I don’t know what their deal is. That’s the only complaint I have. The newly renovated interior looks great, but I still never eat there.
