Bedford Fabrics has been around for decades and is a gem of a store. Marie the owner buys extremely high quality, beautiful fabrics that you simply cannot find at Jo-Ann’s or other chain fabric stores. Prices are LOW!
Marie is also a very knowledgeable seamstress and can help make suggestions for your sewing project. In addition, the store has a great selection of buttons, trims, and notions. The store is very crowded with inventory and she has even more stock upstairs and in the back (areas which are off-​limits to customers). Parking is a little tight, but if you can make the trip, I strongly recommend it.

Good selection, reasonable prices. It’s astounding that the women at the front know exactly where everything is, but they do! I purchased some nice mid-​weight twill for boy’s pants (2 yards), a rayon bandana print fabric for birthday party tablecloths (6 yards), a crinkle fabric for a skirt and a scarf (3 yards), and thread for all three. I think I spent $ 45. If you like to rummage, there’s always some good stuff in the sale pile.

Bedford Fabrics is located on the famed Bedford Street in Fall River but have no fear of hooker spotting because this shop is only open when the «ladies of the night» are fast asleep.
They have plenty of apparel fabrics, including nicer dress maker’s fabrics as well as plenty of trims and notions. And you can always find some neon colored, paisley gem that’s been hiding out since the 70’s.
The woman who runs the shop is very nice and seems to know exactly where everything in the store is.
Sadly, they don’t have anything really in terms of quilting fabrics and many of the apparel fabrics are of the synthetic persuasion.

This is the greatest fabric store for fashion fabric. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and can determine the blends of any fabric you bring her. She is also willing to help with any questions you may have regarding fabric choice, colors, linings etc. The prices are the best I have seen anywhere locally. She also has a wall of notions and great buys on staples like zippers and accessorie hardware. I love this store and love making this drive on a Saturday. She does not have evening hours and is closed on Sunday.
