Stopped there for supper tonight to take home. The clam roll was excellent but not enough clams in it. Over heard the cook telling them to not take anymore orders for the whole belly clams. They should have refunded my money and told me to order something different if there wasn’t enough. Plus they didn’t include the coleslaw or pickle that the menu said was included. This was my second time there. Both times something was wrong. First time I went there I ordered chicken tenders for my daughter and when we got them home they were burnt. Burnt so bad she couldn’t eat them. Tonight was my last visit there. I am very disappointed after all I have been hearing about this place I expected much better service

I have eaten here before and had a great meal. Today was the first time that I actually had a clam roll. For a clam shack, it was the worst clam roll I have ever had. The coating was half on most of the clams. Some clams didn’t have any coating at all and was just stuck to the bun.

Wow! This place was exactly what I expected. Small but great greasy spoon (however, a more upscale look and feel). The clam chowder was excellent as we’re the clam cakes. The kids had foot long hotdogs which were not only delicious but shockingly reasonably priced. I had a clam strip roll which I loved. My wife had the chicken noodle soup in a bread bowl which was also very good. If I lived here I would regularly stop by and probably gain some weight. This place is not a health food place but it is good food relatively quick with friendly service. You order at the counter but then they bring the food to your table. The soup bar left a little to be desired, but maybe another day the selection would be more appealing to me. We will go back here for sure.

Fantastic lobster roll. They have an unlimited cup of soup to add to any entrée that gives you all you can eat to the 5 soups of the day!

The extreme clam chowder was the best we had on our trip through New England (thank you Unilocal) and the chourico crab cakes (hush puppies) were also great. The lobster roll was wonderful– not some huge bun but just enough bread to hold ALL OF THE LOBSTER. So perfect. Also, the staff was super nice and helpful.

Food is Great, however don’t stop if you’re in a rush. I ordered Chowder and 3 cakes. After almost 15 min. I went up to the counter to find out what was going on. I was told the clam caked take 8 min to make. I make mine at home in about 4 to 5. Either way it doesn’t account for the other almost 7 min. By the way there was only 1 other person that ordered before me and nobody else in the dining room.

Perfect lunch spot on a chilly grey fall day. Got the soup bar for 7.99. Had one of everything. Best ones were a toss up between the Italian wedding soup and the baked potato soup. But everything was delicious.

I think the prices are very reasonable. The lobster roll had enough (fresh!) meat for 2 rolls! If I lived locally, I imagine I’d eat here frequently and buy soup to take home often. Had they been open for lunch on the summer Sat when I stopped by, this would be 5 stars ;)

Great Chowder & Soups To Eat In Or Bring Home Frozen to prepare Like Homemade taste! Somewhat High But Reasonable Prices for Fresh And Frozen Seafood. Check «Blount» Out tho’ for Easy to Prepare Food. ;)

Great Clam bake chowder and clam cakes, they have frozen soups to take with u for later. They have stuffed quahogs, seafood salad, clam cakes, lobster rolls and many many soups to pick from. Awesome lunch spot

Was some of the greatest soup we have had. The all you can eat soup bar was great, however it didn’t have clam chowder. We got the clam chowder separate but it wasn’t the greater. The corn and shrimp chowder was great and so was the lobster roll. Got a few bags of soup to go.

Good Unilocal reviews had me stop here for lunch today early in the afternoon. As a big chowder fan I have to say the clam chowder is one of the best I have ever had. Served in a large mug it was flavorful and loaded with clams. My only regret as a big fan of soup is that I didn’t instead get the soup Buffett which had I believe 5 different soups and my lunch mate tried four of them and was very impressed.
The only reason I’m not giving a five star rating was the lobster roll, which was very good and served timely but was very small for the $ 11.99 price tag. Basically served on a bun made for a small hot dog. The lobster was flavorful but not what I would expect in size for the price.
Overall a great find and if your a soup fan will be in heaven. They also have their soups frozen which allows you to take your favorites home and enjoy them later.

Really tasty food and friendly staff. It’s great to be able to pick up their soups to bring home. The lobster bisque is really good although I would love to see some lobster pieces in it.

Blount has to have one of the best fish and chips as well as clam chowder I have ever tasted! The batter for the fish was nice and crunchy. You could tell it was fresh not frozen like some places. The chowder was nice and creamy. If you are nearby I would definitely recommend stopping by this place. Great environment for families and great food.

I guess I expected better from my fish sandwich. It was nothing special. Sort of had the feeling that it was a frozen fish filet and not fresh. The roll seemed dry and day old to me too.
Abner got the BLT fish sandwich and he liked it alot. He also got the all you can eat soup buffet. I tried a few of them. The chili was very good. I can’t say that the soups did anything for me though. Sort of tasted canned to me, rather than homemade.
I saw some people with clam cakes and those looked good though. I think I would try something else if I go again.
