This place is no frills, just solid BBQ. A good variety on the menu — ribs, brisket, pork, chicken, and standard BBQ sides. I’ve gotten the pulled pork sandwich and pulled chicken sandwich and definitely liked both(but almost always go for the pork because it’s just so darn good!). Usually get the fries(also good, crispy), but also share the coleslaw and beans with the hubbie from time to time. I really love all the different sauces, too. Service is quick and friendly. I don’t think it’s a big operation as I’ve only ever seen one person there at a time(is there even another person in the back? I can’t say). While I’ve never had anything bad here, I have had better BBQ in my life. Of course, that was in the Midwest fifteen years ago, so that’s not helping me in present-day Fall River. This place feeds my occasional craving for satisfying BBQ here and now. Overall, it’s a surprising little hole-in-the-wall with nothing fancy, just good eats — exactly what a BBQ should be. Has all the basics and does it right.

Love this place! The meat is always tender and the sides are amazing. There is no other local BBQ place that can come close. P. s. Their cornbread is amazing

Hubby and I are traveling, so we stopped by Ed’s for some Barbecue, and are we ever glad we did! Everything from the fresh-squeezed lemonade to the pulled pork was absolutely delicious. Hubby had the baby back ribs and loved them, and he’s an aficionado. It’s a very unassuming location, but in that regard, it falls in line with traditional barbecue joints. Keep it up, Ed! We’ll be back!

The meats were very very tender. And the choices of sauces were great! I love the mustard and sweet sauces. But I didn’t care much for the sides and I like warm cornbread not cold. But overall good eats. I would definitely return and prices are reasonable!

Hole in the wall with a WHOLE lotta charm! … My fiancé and I have been looking around at bbq caterers for our wedding rehearsal this coming summer. We planned to check out a place in Middletown, one in Attleboro, and one in Wrentham. What we didn’t realize is that the best was right here in our backyard! … We went for lunch and had the«Big Feast» since we wanted to sample everything. That consisted of beef brisket, St. Louis ribs, baby back ribs, pulled pork, pulled chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, beans, and corn bread! … All for around $ 40 with drinks. Not bad for a meal that EASILY fed four of us. Where to begin? First off, the ribs need NO sauce. The dry rub is phenomenal and truly the only flavor you need; however, if you need your sauce, you have quite the variety to choose from. Our favorites were the original bbq and the sweet and spicy. The Carolina vinegar was tasty as well! … The beef brisket was so tender that you couldn’t even pick it up with a fork because it just kept falling apart. MOUTHWATERING! … The ribs were delicious — like I said, no sauce required. The pulled chicken and pulled pork were so delicious that even the pickiest of 11 year old boys devoured his plate. THAT has gotta tell you something, folks! All of the sides were perfection and the corn bread was some of the best I’ve had. Needless to say … wedding rehearsal menu? CHECK! Highly recommend!

Ok so I tried this place when they first opened and was not impressed. I decided to try it again just to make sure, it still did not impress me. Years later after seeing the reviews on Unilocal I have decided to give it a try once more. I thought maybe they have changed something or got their technique right. Still nothing. I really wanted to like this place since it was so close to home, but after giving it three tries, I will not be back. I ordered a half slab of baby backs a half slab of St Louis and some beef brisket. There was no flavor on the meats, although pretty tender it was not juicy. It was dry and left that feeling of like having sand in your mouth. Maybe it was intended that way, so you can put alot of bbq sauce to balance out the dryness. The sides was ok. I had the baked beans and Cole slaw, corn bread was dry and gritty. I don’t know how or why this place got such high reviews. I encourage everyone to explore more bbq places then write your reviews. I have tried bbq from all over, texas, florida, Georgia just to name a few. I am not a bbq snob. One of the best bbq I’ve had is from a food truck in mass. Like I said I really wanted to like this place but three strikes your out. It’s sad to say I will not be back.

Just an update since I’ve been going here for a couple of years now — still great! They added sweet potato fries and onion rings to the menu but otherwise remains the same. Always friendly and always good.

It was delicious! Small place and girl behind the counter was very Friendly and accommodating. Food came out quick and it was good! I like that you can put your own sauces on. The vinegar based sauce is just how I remember getting it in South Carolina. We will be back.

Pretty good BBQ. Nice to have a locally owned place like this in the city. The employees are very nice. The place is always spotless inside. The sauces are great too. Portions are well sized, so you do pay for what you order.

We did take out last night. I had a full rack of ribs and we also had brisket. The ribs were perfectly cooked and the rack was large. The brisket was so tender it just fell apart. I can’t wait to go back. I wasn’t totally crazy about the potato salad it was ok.

Small place with little appeal from the street, but what’s inside is sure to satisfy. The service is excellent, we were greeted immediately and felt welcomed and taken care of during our entire experience. Friendly and clean place. The food is awesome! The smoked meat is served without sauce– you can add it yourself! My husband loves a lot of sauce and I like just a dollop, so this place is perfect for us. And the sweet potato fries are the best I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend!

Great little BBQ place. Not the best I’ve ever had, but certainly solid enough and the people that own the place are extremely nice. I grabbed a brisket and pulled pork sandwich. Brisket was ok, but the pulled pork was fantastic. Their sauces are on point as well. d Wish they had mashed taters or mac and cheese for sides. Again, nice solid place.

I was anxious to come here after reading all the rave reviews and learning how their meat is smoked for fifteen hours everyday. We finally got our chance to try Ed’s this past Fourth of July. WOW, it was definitley worth the trip! I wanted to sample a little bit of everything so we decided to try the Big Feast which included brisket, pulled pork, baby back, and St. Louis ribs. It was by far the best BBQ we’ve ever had!!! The ribs taste amazing with that special rub and smokey flavor. They were very succulent and fell right off the bone. The pulled pork moist with a slightly tangy flavor. I especially love the different variety of sauces. There are several you can try but we liked Eds original the best. Everything was great and the sides of potatoe salad, slaw, and corn bread were just as good. You can literally taste the love they put into their food. Cant wait to go back!!!

The owners were nice but the food is dry underseasoned and gross. The sauces are just ok and the meat isn’t tender enough. It wasn’t good and it was a waste of money.

It is difficult to find good BBQ in New England. Ed’s Famous BBQ is a rarity — some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had in my life. Does it look like a dive? Yes. Is it in run-down Fall River? Yes BUT — I can’t stop thinking about the dry rub ribs.

Stopped in on Memorial Day after some time at the beach. We ordered the Lil’ Feast and it was perfect for 2. A serving of Pulled Pork, Brisket and a half rack of ribs served with 2 sides. The Pulled Pork was great, enough smoke, not greasy it was very good. The Brisket was a little dry for taste and the Ribs were good. The stand out were the sauces. The variety between the sweet, original, hot mustard and vinegar were noticeable and each was fantastic. I would stop back if I’m ever in Fall River again.

Service couldn’t have been more helpful, BBQ came out hot and fast. Great selection of sauces. All meat is dry rubbed and you sauce it yourself. If I had one minor complaint it’s that the tables are a bit small, and the plastic utensil while durable were no match for my St. Louis ribs. Overall a great experience, I will go again!

I’m not a huge carnivore, but my husband certainly is. If he could live entirely off a diet of burgers, steaks, and chicken wings he would. Since he regularly indulges my desire for«fluffy» vegetarian and pasta-centric food I decided to grab some Ed’s take-out for dinner Friday even though I’m not really a BBQ kind of girl. I ordered the«little feast» and you know what? Ed’s might be the best BBQ joint in the south coast. It was dead when I went in but I guess many Fall River-ites aren’t buying BBQ on Lent. The service is friendly, the sauces are plentiful and the actual food is great. The ribs were tasty, the brisket is super tender, and I really liked their sides. I found the sweet and spicy sauce to be divine and I drenched my brisket in it. The corn bread was very moist and buttery and the cole slaw was crisp and not drenched in liquid like some other restaurants serve theirs. Will definitely be coming back to order more carnivores delight in the future.
