Red Cedar is horrible in every possible way a restaurant can be horrible. They’re finally officially closed, so everyone can stop making the mistake of trying to eat there only to find that it’s closed at super arbitrary times on really normal days to be open. Good riddance to rubbish is what I say. I’m glad someone finally pulled the plug on that disaster.

Most useless place I’ve encountered on a fiday night. Two servers for the whole restaurant. bunch of empty tables and we were told there’s a 20 min wait…

The first time we went to Red Cedar was shortly after the opening and I would give that experience 1 star. Our waiter was a jerk, my meal sat out in the open in plain view before being served when my husband’s meal was ready, and both dishes were borderline inedible. I would have sent mine back immediately, had I realized it was my food sitting on the counter, but after waiting nearly an hour, I was starving. We were seated as far away from the live band as possible, and while the music was decent, it was so loud we could barely hear one another speak. The highlight of the evening was definitely the fishbowl. This time around Kaitlyn(sp?) served us and she was outstanding! Very attentive, but far from annoying; she went above and beyond to make this a good experience. I would be giving 3 stars, but she earned the fourth. We ordered the littlenecks appetizer, which we both loved, and it could have easily served as an entrée. I had the house salad with scallops, which was decent. My husband had the Azorean steak tips, which were recommended by our waitress, and also wonderful. Our EXTREMELY picky 4 year old ordered a cheese pizza, which was a little on the burnt side. However, he did eat three pieces and wanted to take the rest home, which for him is saying a lot. And again, the fishbowls were good! The band was just setting up as we were leaving(at approximately 8:30) so I can’t say if the noise level is still intolerable. Food 3 stars, service 5.

Went here yesterday. We started with the bourbon wings which were very good. I ordered the littlenecks ap for my meal and my wife ordered the margerita pizza. My littlenecks came out and the waitress informed my wife that they made the wrong pizza. I was pretty much done with my meal when the pizza came out and four of the eight pieces had the crust cut off because they burned it. The littlenecks were very good. The pizza was fine other than the fact that they knowingly cut the burnt crust off. We pointed it out to the waitress and she comped the pizza. I will give this place another try. It would be disappointing to have 2 restaurants in the same building(remys) that I wouldn’t us go to.

I really want to like this place, but have never had a good full experience the 5 – 6 times I have been here. The last time was Sunday late afternoon. There were 5 of us and we sat outside and ordered drinks after a 15 minute wait, Half hour later still no drinks and it was getting windy we decide to move inside. Because of the long wait we thought the restaurant inside must be busy, not the case, one couple in the corner table, we then realized that were totally understaffed we counted 4 employees total to run the restaurant. We spoke briefly with the bartender who was also waiting tables he apologized for the long delays but confirmed our suspicion that they were totally understaffed to handle even the small number of tables. We decided to cancel our orders and went next door. Total management failure. mY other complaints from previous experience also shows this place is managed poorly. Food is not consistent and always leave there feel ing it should be better. I love pizza cooked in a wood fired oven, but will have to keep looking because don’t Think I will ever get it here. I really want to like this place, i like the atmosphere and keep hoping my pizza one day will be good. They also need to do something with their ventilation, you always leave smelling of smoke from the oven.

Visited here yesterday for dinner with my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary. For our appetizer we went with the scampi littlenecks. It was delicious! For my entrée I went with one of their specials, Swordfish with veggies and french fries for my sides. I was rather very happy to see that they finally decided to get a friolator and make fries. For awhile nothing was fried here. Needless to say my entire entrée was excellent! My wife went with a salad and scallops(on the salad). She enjoyed it. Overall, fantastic experience. Service and food was great! Love it here.

Now closed on Mondays I always want to like this place, I really do but I’m just not seeing it happen. I have been here several times and the staff is always friendly but they don’t know how to make a drink to save their lives. They offer these great fish bowl drinks but they all taste horrible, and the bartenders never appear to be well trained. The food doesn’t really appear to be fresh and not prepared well. I once ordered a wedge salad and half an iceberg lettuce came out with some dressing and 4 sad cucumber slices on the side. The thing was not edible. I have not had one dish that I would order again. Then to top it all off there isn’t enough ventilation for the wood fired ovens so you leave smelling like a camp fire.

I’ve been here twice now. Make sure you ask for Eddie to be your waiter. He is on point and will take good care of you and makes you feel like you want him to grab a chair and hang out with you. They serve nice warmed bread with an herbed olive oil. The side salad is generous and nicely presented. You can totally tell the pizzas are made in a wood oven. They have that beautiful puffed crust and look wonderful. I’ve tried the godfather and Arozean pizza. I prefer the later. My friend said he found their Portuguese steak pizza to be better than Entourage/Halftime. Sharon keeps the bar clean and makes great margaritas and will smile and make time to chat while doing so. My favorite waiter Eddie, will keep me a frequent visitor of this place.

The service could not have been better. The tomato eggplant dip was good but more cheese than vegetable. The Godfather pizza was delish. Bar was slow with drinks-why? Don’t know. Other than that very good.

As a longtime Fall River resident, I have been on a hunt for excellent take out pizza since I moved here. Chain pizza is generally meh but usually the only suitable way to eat a pie around here that isn’t from the freezer section of Target. However, Red Cedar has changed all that. No more Pizza Hut meal boxes for dinners with family for this girl. Red Cedar makes the best fire grilled pizza this side of the PVD. I called in an order for the choricó and it was done and ready to be picked up in seven minutes. The only tricky thing about the Red Cedar is getting to it. There’s currently a lot of construction going on around the building and you can no longer just go through President Ave to get there. Also, the parking is a bit difficult as well– don’t park in the front of the building! Go around the back and *past* Jerry Remy’s ultra-busy lot to get to Red Cedar’s. You pay for take out at the bar(which looked like it had some good beer on tap), and while the whole place is very clearly decorated with Ikea fixtures, it still has a nice, cozy atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back to dine-in sometime soon.

The rays of sunlight cut through the canopy of the forest, glistening off of my sinewy muscles protruding from my sleeveless plaid shirt. Axe, propped against my shoulder as I tread softly yet assertively through the undergrowth of the Red Cedar. Casting my gaze about for a girl with some long firm stems to whittle away at. The bartender chats me up, realizing I’m such a mysterious figure in this sullen city which, even so, still remains alive with a bustle on a week night. Reminds one of lifting a rotting log, depressed in the ground, yet still finding a banquet of life as the bugs scatter about. Order a pizza, seems reasonably priced. First bite is perfectly crafted for my taste buds. I let my eyes slowly slide shut and almost forget that I am a lumberjack and should not show emotion. Friends arrive. We order a giant fish bowl. Drink is delicious. We realize we are not getting any buzz off of it. Might be a 22 dollar fruit punch we just bought. Bartender only works Tuesdays, and only for two months. Maybe she doesn’t know she’s being shy with the alcohol. I throw down my monetary paper and head for the exit path. The bartender remembers my name. I turn around and say my goodbye easily with a squint and a flex of my swollen bicep. I realize she had the best stems of the Red Cedar this whole time. I exit.

Eat the pizza. It’s a pizza place, so don’t expect too much from the rest of the menu. Bartenders don’t know how to make the frozen drinks so shy away from those as well. Outdoor patio is nice except the seats are sooooo uncomfortable. Good band on Sunday afternoons Tip for management: Buy some cushions!

It wouldn’t take much to improve the deficiencies at Red Cedar. However, once is enough for me and I won’t be back. The Good: It has a really nice atmosphere with a great wood burning smell, and our server was attentive and friendly. The Bad: Where do I start? They ran out of tall beer glasses(even though the place was barely half full on a Friday night) so my friend’s beer was delayed while they were figuring out what to do about it. He ended up getting two pint glasses instead, and then they resorted to serving our beer in plastic cups like we were partying in Newport. Most of the nachos were devoid of cheese, the calamari was a dish of sauteed rings instead of the regular breaded and fried version you find at 98% of other restaurants, my burger was cooked almost well done even though I asked for medium rare, and my friend’s mac and shrimp had so little shrimp(and they were little) I felt bad for him. The Weird: They have a number of TVs lining the walls, and four of them were showing a slide show of the restaurant(food, environment, etc.). Huh? We’re already in the place, why do you have to cycle through pictures of the restaurant? Also, one of the urinals in the bathroom was made for Andre the Giant as it’s so high up on the wall it’s basically unusable. I’m 6’5″ and used the other one as the high one is just… weird. Why? Red Cedar has outdoor tables and I could see that being fun on a hot summer night, but the food itself leaves a lot to be desired(the calamari was thoroughly disappointing) and I’ve never been to a place that ran out of beer glasses. I mean come on.

Ordered godfather pizza. The description almost deterred me from ordering. Linguini pasta on a pizza. It is actually very tasty. I recommend going on Sundays. They have a good band playing outside in the court yard from 3 – 7. We sit outside at the bar and it’s a good time.

It was Monday night and there was two other people at this establishment when my family, and I came in for dinner. The place was so muggy with limited airflow so we had to sweat a majority of the meal. We had a very attentive waitress. However, the meal was the main issue. First, my mother ordered a personal pizza. There is a selection of specialty pizzas offered on the menu. My mother wanted the Mediterranean pizza offered in a personal size. The waitress took the order, and left. However, she came back to explain that they do not do specialty in the personal size, you will have to pick something else. So, my mother picks pepperonis and spinach for her personal sized. When the pizza was delivered it had plenty of meat, but no spinach. The waitress took it back to get spinach. It must have been two baby leaves of spinach shredded and put on the pizza. Seriously? For 1.25 you add that much spinach. The next problem was with my grandmother’s pizza. She ordered a simple cheese pizza in the personal size. The waitress brought it out burned to a crisp. The crust was black. She refused it and they remade it without any burns. My dish was the biggest of the issues. I ordered cheese tortellini with vegetables. The pasta came out cold and hard. It wasn’t cooked. It’s not difficult to boil pasta. However, the chef missed the sound of the raw pasta clinking on the dish when he poured it out of the pot. They re-cooked my pasta. I do not know why they rushed the food. It was not a full house, and they could have spent more time making sure their food was of higher quality when they served it. So, we have three people at the table and all three people had their dishes returned. My mother was finished her pizza by the time I got my re-cooked pasta. So, I would have expected something to be taken off the bill or to have a complimentary drink or dessert. However, we paid full price for a disaster of a meal. I would not recommend this location if you want a meal that is done right the first time.

Well, we’ve been back to Red Cedar twice since my last review. The three stars still stands. The first time we ordered exactly the same order as the first visit. The odd little bread pieces with oil were the same. The littlenecks were still fabulous. The pizza was much, much better. It had a nice crispy crust. If I had updated after that visit I would have moved them up to four stars easily. I didn’t though and we went back and had«real meals». Here came the little bread pieces again, this time with them being cold and bordering on stale as an added bonus. The littlenecks again were the star. I can’t rave about them enough. I ordered the cedar scallops and my husband the cedar salmon. He was happy with his piece of salmon. My scallops were plentiful and cooked well, but they were covered in a sauce that reminded me of a bottled General Tso’s sauce from the grocery store. My roasted potatoes were cold and some were hard. The vegetables, broccoli and carrots, were lukewarm and so, so overcooked. I don’t know if they could have been any softer, which isn’t what you want with broccoli. Back down to three stars. The odd music videos are still there and my husband and I played the«What year did that song come out» game. It just confirmed to us that yes, we are old and our 80’s music is now«classic». Go for the littlenecks and pizza.

If you like gnats flying around you while you eat and drink, then look no further, because this is the place for you!!! My table was completely disgusted with everything about this place. Admittedly we dropped in at busy dinner time on a Saturday night, but that is no excuse for poor customer service by the host and managers, and then there is still the curious issue of those bugs… We were told 30 – 45 minute wait. Fine. There are some nice leather chairs over by the bar where we sat to order drinks while we waited. And waited. And waited. Eventually we noticed everyone was sitting before us! The host didn’t know what was going on in his restaurant and looked like he wanted to cry when anyone spoke to him. We should have left and put him out of his misery, but we had come this far. We ordered the jalapeño appetizer. Weird. It’s wrapped in raw bacon, just so you know. The waitress was apologetic, and took it off the bill, but that didn’t help us later when we got sick. I forgot to mention, the jalapeño seeds were never removed from the jalapeño before it was stuffed with cream cheese and covered in raw bacon.(sounds delish — right?) Some people(ok fine, my husband!) he’s a man, so he just ate the whole jalapeño is one bite — one bite of raw bacon, those spicy seeds, and cream cheese. Ow! Our dinners came out pretty quick. Which was surprising because the table next to us said they waited and hour for their food. Meals were mediocre, but very hard to focus on because of the aforementioned gnats. Some people at my table couldn’t taste their food either from their previously burned taste buds. Sometimes I give places the benefit of the doubt., especially if it’s a place I’ve only been to once, but to this place I say diners beware.

Maybe I’m feeling generous because it’s rare to get a decent meal in Fall River but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by Red Cedar. The menu boasted an assortment of Italian dishes(pasta, chicken, etc.) and a handful of wood fired pizzas. We were served complimentary bread and seasoned oil upon being seated but sadly, the bread was your typical Italian style white loaf instead a nice house ciabatta which I think would have fit the theme much better. The Margherita pizza came with fresh mozzarella and basil and the crust was blackened, crispy and chewy in the best way. I’d say the sauce was seasoned a bit more heavily than I usually prefer. I’m a purest when it comes to my sauces. There are an assortment of desserts and the Crème Brulee was a great portion to share. Fresh berries and fruit coulis to decorate the plate were nice touches. The Cedar Margarita was very well priced for a hefty portion and I really appreciate the I could actually taste the tequila in my drink unlike other places I’ve been to in this area. There was no salt on the rim but it did taste hand made instead of being made with a mixer. The bar area looked lively and the open pizza station was a nice touch. High ceilings in the converted mill space allowed for plenty of decorative lanterns and overall I’d say the space has been very well designed. The service was decent, not too pushy but we still felt looked well after. One thing to note is the ventilation wasn’t the greatest so our clothing smelled heavily of the food even hours after leaving. For an early Friday evening, this place was BUSY which in this economy, in an often forgotten city like Fall River, I think that’s just fantastic.
