Not a lot of places to go in Fernley or Fallon. I would make the 20 minute drive anyday because this place is consistantly good. The steaks are pretty damn good, they come with salad or soup, potato or rice & vegetables. Seems ALL of the items including sauses, soups, dressings are made in house. The free chips and salsa are excellent too. You can get the DOUBLE EYES (for two) includes two ribeyes, with two orders of shrimp, two orders of either soup or salad, two potato or rice sides and two vegetables for $ 38.00. Thats a great deal! They also always have good specials.
They have been remodeling slowly over the last year. The décor keeps getting better. Family owned and operated. Service is pretty good. Open until 9pm! Seriously you can’t go wrong here.

I have not tried the Mexican food here, but they’re steaks are great. We got the two rib eyes, with your choice of 6 shrimp any way you want, soup or salad, baked potato and sauteed vegetables for each for only $ 38.99. Also the chips and salsa are delicious, which come with every meal.

So… In Fallon there are only so many places to eat at, especially for dinner.
Finally tried the Waterhole one night for dinner and came away with mixed results. The food wasn’t too bad, ordered a steak. It came well cooked, flavor was good and it didn’t leave me with any hunger pains after, plus the price was pretty good.
However, it is an interesting place. There were a decent amount of flies inside, which drove me nuts while eating and swatting away bugs. Our «waitress» was a 13 year old girl I am thinking. Not a problem, but different.
Also, I second the comment on the iced tea being not the best.
However, the chips and salsa you get when you sit down are pretty good and nothing took too long to get to us.
I will probably go back, but not a place I will frequent on a monthly basis.

I must say I would not waste my time going here. My moms friends were in town and we wanted to go out for a bite to eat, of course it’s slim pickins in Fallon on a week night. First of all don’t greet your table «what do you want», second don’t take 2 of 4 drink order and walk away, third CLEAN YOUR MENUS. We left. Sorry but I will never go back just because of how you greet me at my table.

Awesome service. The food is delicious, and well presented. One of the best restaurants we have visit in a long time.

Seriously go here on Mondays and eat some dollar tacos. They are big for a dollar. They have tasty insides with onions and cilantro (if one pleases) and dos tortillas. That is two tortillas for you non spanish speaking folk. And if you are anything like my crew we enjoy some tasty beverages when we eat tacos. They have the best Margaritas in town. Hands down the best. Oh, did I mention that the ‘Ritas are only three dollars and are the biggest ‘Ritas in town? Ditch the zeros in Fallon and start going to the hero that is the Waterhole on Mondays.

The restaurant itself is really basic. Old tables and chairs. Old building really.
The food is surprisingly decent. Which is probably why I have been here a few times. Chips and salsa, SCORE. I love them.
My favorite dish is the chimichanga. Which is HUGE. Veggies are basic, but grilled well. The meat is decent and well seasoned. Fried pretty perfectly as well.
The ice tea, I have to remember, sucks. It’s my go to drink wherever I go, and when I taste a bad one, I can never understand why. It’s TEA! Unfortch, since I always order tea, I accidentally always order it here.
This place is closer to 2.5 stars, food is decent, but the atmosphere sucks, for lack of a better word. If you’re not picky, it’s good food.
