I came here today around 2:00 pm there was no one at the restaurant at that time. There were 5 wait staff siting at the table in the back and two at the bar. When we walked in I was promptly greeted and seated. We quickly gave our order of Rice noodles with grilled pork and egg roll and combination broken rice. The food came out 15 minutes later, the presentation was pretty but the broken rice dish was unnecessary spaced out. The meat was very well seasoned but like all of the food beside the rice everything was super dried and some tasted funky like it has been siting out for 5 days. I love this dish and I know how it’s suppose to taste and that just wasn’t it. Lets talk service, the waiter came back with an empty dish, fork and spoon after we ordered, note there was two of us both dishes required a fork not sure why he gave me a spoon because when my dish came out i got a knife. Did he want me to cut the meat with a knife and spoon? So when our food came out and we obviously needed a fork I tried to get someones attention but finally had to get up and ask for a fork. He came out with a fork and a napkin. Again two of us, so instead of walking back to get his attention again i just tore the paper in half and shared it with my BF. When we were done with our food we sat and waited about 15 mins and still no one came around, again we were the only customers in the restaurant, so again i had to get up go to the bar and asked for the check to pay. Not wanting to walk back and forth again I just stood there to pay. Honestly, I wouldn’t come back here for the food nor the service both was just terrible. I mean seriously we were the only two in the restaurant how could you messed up the service so bad?

No one seated us for 15 minutes even though there was plenty of tables and seated us close to the door after the snow blizzard. Ordered two 33 and only got one. Had to remind them about the second one but was told that we had ‘cancelled’ it even though we did not. The manager told us the server doesn’t speak English. Why does a server not speak English? I do not trust them to get my order correct. The soup was bland and they did not give us water or our checks and made us wait even longer. The fish sauce was bland. It’s almost like they don’t want us to tip them.

The phở broth is delish. The spring rolls are fine but the dipping sauce is a little off. The phở ap chau is so crunchy I love it! I just wish it was a little more flavorful. Nothing some salt and sriracha didn’t fix. I was also devastated that they didn’t have pink jelly):

I walked by this place and thought I’d ask my Unilocalers what they thought about this restaurant. Unilocal’s verdict: Mediocre. I decided to try it anyway because it looked clean and shiny. Shiny things attract me, I’m sorry. still working on my self control. First time I tried it I got Com Tam and it was nothing like Thanh Truc; actually, no restaurant could ever compare to Thanh Truc’s Com Tam. For me the meat was lacking in the flavor department and the Bi was also not very flavorful. Second time I tried it with friends I got the same thing and it was still not any better. Third time, same results. Honestly, I think sticking to the older restaurants in Eden Center is probably a safer bet. You know where to find me in Eden Center, Thanh Truc or Nha Trang.

Service is exceptional! So hospitable. They’ve even let me bring in my own food to eat there a few times.(Craved something else) Quality of their food is up to par if not better than any other. I would definitely recommend bringing your friends guests here if they haven’t already tried Vietnamese cuisine(or if they’ve had). This place hasn’t let me down yet as compared to Rice Paper.

I’d like to write a review about this place’s food, but unfortunately, I didn’t get any food. I sat down with some co-workers and the waiter took our orders. We were quite amazed that he didn’t write down the 7 different order from our party. We quickly realized he didn’t write it down because he didn’t really care. What was suppose to be a quick lunch soon turned into a game of «uh, what did you order?» We’re also pretty sure the meatless spring rolls someone ordered had meat in it. But to top it all off, they forgot my order, then gave me the wrong item TWICE. I ended up telling them to cancel it because I had to go back to work. They offered no compensation, nor much of an apology. But, hey, my friend said the food is pretty good.

Upon stumbling on this place it looked decent from the outside. Quiet for weekday lunch but decided to give it a try. Ordered the p5 phở with well done brisket and tendon and order of spring rolls. Phở was ok, flavorful broth and decent amount of meat and onions. Spring rolls were super crispy and warm. All in all while I was eating it I though ’ this place isn’t half bad!‘ Now it’s three hours later and my stomach is totally rejecting the food. I’m not sure if possibly the msg but usually that just gives me ahead headache or something was not fresh. Won’t be coming back.

I went here with my family on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was mostly empty – the whole time we were there, only two other tables were occupied at any given time. Service was polite and mostly attentive, though I ran out of water pretty early on and didn’t get a refill. My brother tried to order bun rieu, but it wasn’t available for some reason. :’(:’(:’( We didn’t leave the restaurant with a negative impression, but overall, we felt that there were better places in Eden Center that you can go to get authentic Vietnamese food. You could go here for the ambiance, I suppose – the inside has a more hip, modern feel than the hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese restaurants I grew up eating in(and prefer). The place made me feel like it was catering specifically to the foodie community though. Anyway, onto the food! — My dad ate most of his order of Mi Xao Don, which is always a good sign because he is one of the pickiest eaters I know – especially when it comes to Vietnamese food. My brother picked at the leftovers and thought the squid was cooked surprisingly well. We both thought there was a lot of garlic in the sauce, which we’re not used to, but we thought it was good. — My brother though the bun thit nuong cha gio(rice vermicelli with grilled pork and egg roll) was only okay. It’s a pretty standard dish that shouldn’t be hard to get right. — My bun bo Hue(the special for the day, not discounted at all despite being a special) was… okay. It had all the components and was generous with the cuts of meat and pork blood. But the broth, which is I think the most important component of the dish, was watery and lacked a lot of depth. I had to doctor it up with sa te(spicy red sauce) and fermented shrimp paste before it got to a point I was happy with. I won’t be going out of my way to return, but I could be convinced to eat here again if someone wanted to take me.

I went to this restaurant just few hours back. I had ordered the ginger chicken, which was completely dried up and salty — not edible period. Also the portion is very small for its dinner price of $ 11.00. So I could not eat my dinner and had to share with my wife’s beef plate. Also waiters are very nice but they did not even try to rectify the issue. Upon asking to speak to the manager, they said there is no manager for the restaurant… hahahahaha Anyways this restaurant is completely off limits for me.

This place is super clean and legit on a sunday afternoon. Wow. We walked in and the service was great. That sat us(two people) at a large table were we could sit side by side. The Phở was great and they even have free Wi-fi! Easily the best Phở place i have been too! I can’t wait to return! #NoodleLover

This place is one of the better restaurants compared to most around Eden. The comments for this restaurant are really unfair and biased. Terms such as «Americanized» or non-authentic does not relate to this restaurant business motto. So for the kids writing reviews as if they were a food critic, get lost. You have no credibility nor do you know what authentic is. *I used to work in a Vietnamese kitchen for 4 years in Orange County California. The«little Saigon» of America. Oh and one last thing. reviews from Unilocal can make or break a restaurant. The service and quality here is exceptional. Knocking down stars because you think the food doesn’t taste like your moms cooking is irrelevant.

We’ve been to the Eden Kitchen several times for lunch after tennis. They never disappointed us. Well, maybe once. I ordered the pork, rice, and egg platter. The pork was very bland. No taste. Other times, when I ordered the tofu pan fried noodles and seafood soup with egg noodles, the dishes were delicious with bold flavors. The service is good. Attentive. The restaurant is nicely decorated with several flat screen TVs. This is a must try if you are in the area.

Eden Kitchen is one of many newer restaurants catering to the clientele of Eden Center that has drastically changed in recent history as Eden becomes the millennial foodie capital of Vietnamese cuisine. And like many of its competitors, it tries to lure new customers with its well-lit, airy restaurant with deliberate design choices(read: dark wood, sconced lighting). But let’s face it, folks. We’re here for the food. Is the food at one of these new hoity-toity restaurants bowing to the desires of «new money» any better than the back woods mom ‘n pop shops in Saigon West? Anthony investigates. Upon first glance, you can see the influence of new money on this establishment… look no further than the trademark infringement, I mean, homage to Chipotle’s logo emblazoned in the front window of the store. Walk in and you’ll notice the open floor plan and hugeness of the restaurant compared to many of the other shops in Eden Center. So used to 200 sq ft spaces, I almost got lost on my way to the table. Thankfully, my server saved me and gave me a huge menu to boot. Here at Eden Kitchen, they have all of your favorites and more: Phở, Vermicelli, Rice, Clay Pot, protein entrées, dessert. My boyfriend and I decided to order thit nuong on rice and lemongrass/ginger chicken vermicelli. And overall the meal was okay. My thit nuong wasn’t overly salty(read: drowned in a fish sauce marinade) like some other establishments, but it also lacked the bite and smoke of some of best thit nuong I’ve tasted. It was served with a sad side salad(one HUGE piece of lettuce with other randomly cut pieces of veggies… unfortunately uniformity rather than standing out is the key here) and a bowl of rice. I think what was a bit off-putting was the visual presentation of the food, arranged on a huge platter way too big for my meal. It just made my portion seem a lot smaller than it actually was. My boyfriend’s meal, on the other hand, was a gigantic bowl and he greatly enjoyed it… so much so that he didn’t leave me with a bite to review upon. Overall, Eden Kitchen is a good alternative to the usual choices and it’s great that it’s big(can accommodate large groups) and that they accept credit cards readily. That being said, the best Vietnamese food for the price(our two person meal ended up around $ 24) is probably located elsewhere in Eden. My investigation continues…

A group of friends and I came here kinda late, probably at 9pm… it was empty. We all ordered different dishes, soup, fried rice and grilled entrees. I ordered grilled pork and it was freshly grilled. The price was decent for a fair amount, $ 10. My boyfriend ordered phở and he thought it was decent. The broth didn’t stand out for him. He recommends other places. As for service, our waitress was friendly, well-spoken and had patience for a large group. Overall the service is good, the prices are fair, and the the environment was bright and welcoming. Highly recommend coming in for Vietnamese rice or vermicelli dishes but not phở.

This is my second time here in two days and all I can say is: holy shit. The restaurant itself is really clean, spacious, and nicer than I expected. I was pleasantly surprised that they were playing some good oldies music when I walked in. But anyways, let’s move on to the food(which is what really matters, right?)! Banh Canh: I had the banh canh tom thit the first day I came here and fell in love. The soup was thick and flavorful, noodles were soft, shrimp were plentiful and perfectly cooked, and the pork slices were sooo tender and just the right size! There were a couple big pieces of shrimp cakes I think? Not sure, but everything in the bowl was a delicious mixture of magic and all I can think about right now is how much I just want more. Phở Ap Chao: Tried the beef phở ap chao today and was not disappointed. While it didn’t beat banh canh in my book, it was still really delicious and filling. The noodles were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and drenched in a thick and savory sauce. It came with a good variety of vegetables(broccoli, cauliflower, baby corn, carrots) and a lotttt of meat. I almost regretted getting this by myself because it’s seriously like enough food for 2 people haha. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my experience at Eden Kitchen. For the service, ambiance, and amount of food you get for the price, I think it’s safe to say that I will definitely be back. Soon.

Not the best phở I’ve had but by far not the worse. Broth is a bit oily and light but I would be willing to give it a second chance. My phở tai meat was a cut a little bit thick and was a little bit overcooked but my noodles were perfect consistency. I didn’t get a tummy ache afterwards like I usually do at Phở Sate so that is a win! We had the fish sauce wings as an appetizer and it was delightfully studded in fried chopped garlic. These wings were a little bit salty, sweet, and super crunchy. Definitely one of the best versions I’ve had. Eden Kitchen is much more than phở and has a very large menu of Vietnamese favorites. It’s homey and clean and a welcome addition to Eden Center. Plus, they take credit cards! Woohoo!

We decided to try a new place for dinner tonight. When I was a kid, Phở Hoa was the ultimate phở restaurant in Eden Center. If you were Vietnamese you came here or went to Phở 75. Phở Hoa occupied the space of Eden Kitchen, Hu Tieu Mi La Cay, and Thanh Son Tofu combined. After that venerable phở house shut down, the developers split the space up. The space where Eden Kitchen occupies used to be the Ritz restaurant, which later became the Ritz nightclub, then it was a buffet(I think) but it was always some form of Ritz, always was under new management, and it never had any customers. I thought that space was cursed(or a front). So you can see I was surprised to discover a new restaurant had opened in that space and it was not called«Ritz»! We dined here last night to try something new. I ordered the house combination phở ap chau and my boyfriend got bo luc lac. I’m used to ordering chow fun type stir fry. Their version has crispy phở noodle cakes topped with loads of veggies, seafood, and meat. It didn’t have that smoky flavor you get from chow fun, but it tasted light and not too oily. My boyfriend’s shaky beef had a ton of onions and not as much meat as he would like. Unlike some restaurants, it was served on a bed of watercress, which is how I prefer. For these two dishes, it amounted to $ 31 excluding tip. They accept credit cards. The service was fine when we sat down but when it came to pay, I had to go to the counter and also ask for my carryout box. I’m not sure if you have to go to the counter to pay or they being the bill to you. Overall, it was an average experience. I’m willing to visit again to try the phở. Hopefully they will get more people through the door. I don’t ever want them to suffer the fate of the Ritz.
