Amazing, authentic food at crazy cheap prices. I had the Seafood Tofu Stew for just $ 8. The bowl was filled to the rim with soft tofu, squid, shrimp, mussels, octopus, and vegetables, all floating in delicious hot broth. The side dishes were yummy too; the nice serving lady brought us refills whenever we got low on any. She was very kind and showed us how to eat our dishes the Korean way :) Delicious food for cheap prices! Will definitely be returning.

I was pretty happy with Gom Tang E. After having an emergency Korean food craving, and not wanting to drive all the way to Annandale, I decided to give Gom Tang E, the only Korean restaurant in Eden Center and second shop after the Centreville location, a try. Known for their oxtail soup, I thought the broth was great! I wish it could have been even hotter, and like others mentioned, scallions already included, and you just add your salt and pepper to your liking. The meat was extremely tough, tougher than any meat I’ve ever had. Nothing like the delicious meat pieces you get in a bowl of phở. Regardless of these two factors, I thought the 12+ hour brother was great and exactly what I needed. Also the price was 6.99 because of a special they had going on in-store, and that is ½ the price I usually pay anywhere else for a bowl of oxtail soup. Next, I ordered the small seafood pancake appetizer that came cut in 4 large pieces. I thoguht it was the perfect size to share between 2 people. However, there was barely any seafood in it, but it was super crunchy and contained other vegetables. I also loved the prepared soy sauce that came with the pancake. I also ordered the bossam off the appetizer menu, which was perfect to share between 2 people. There were 8+ generous pieces of pork belly and had various sauces, garlic, boiled napa, etc to wrap. They were kind enough to refill my napa cabbage and the sauces were terrific. Initially I was going to go to To Sok Jip to try their bossam, but noticed others mentioned that the pork belly was quite fatty there. I thought Gom Tang E’s pork belly was good. The kimchi was rather sweet, and the side dishes were quite limited(bean curd, radish, kimchi). They serve free barley tea and the service was very nice and the interior was very clean unlike a lot of the older places in the Eden Center West building or the rest of Eden Center. Overall, Gom Tang E is a satisfactory place to meet your Korean food cravings if do not want to trek any further. However, I would definitely venture out to other places if you are looking for more high quality.

Expensive, and not that good. Kimchi is not good, and they’re very skimpy with the sides. Beef soup was bland. Dumplings were cold. The bibimbap was ok, not great. I know what good Korean food is, I lived in Seoul for over a year. I’ve come to the conclusion that if I want good Korean food around NoVa area, I’ve got to go to Annandale. Bummer.

I felt compelled to write a review because I think the rating is unfair. I thought this was delicious! Had the goat soup… bomb. Girlfriend had the beef soup… had half… also bomb. I’m from LA and am Korean, had tons of good Korean food. This place should be more packed, especially for being so close to the city.

It’s great to have Gom Tang E at this location although it’s in the middle of the Vietnamese restaurants and stores. The lady who worked there was very nice and she explained what was in each soup. I tried the bone soup for the first time, last few times I had other Korean dishes. The soup was potent and rich, it was so pure and delicious. It went with the spicy kim chi served on the side. The restaurant was small but they still manage to have a giant pot of bone soup by the window(not as big as the one in Annandale).

I’ve been here a few times and both times really enjoyed it. The place is tucked inside the mall area on the south/west side of Eden Center. It’s not much to look at but the food is very good. I didn’t love the black goat soup as much as I expected, but I don’t have a basis to compare. The other soups and dishes I’ve had have been great — especially the bibimbap which is full of fresh veggies. We’ll definitely be back.

A huge cauldron of milky, opaque, bone-broth on a rolling boil(with some bones sticking out for good measure) sits in the corner, steaming. It sets both a warm tone and temperature for this cheery restaurant.(Come dressed in layers so you can strip off!) It made me both curious and intimidated. I got the spicy beef soup(which uses the bone-broth that is simmered for 15 hours minimum apparently) while my companion got the beef short rib based soup. We both loved the soup presentation! The taste of the broth was mellow, full, and not salty. The spiciness of my soup was perfect. Tender shreds of beef swam in the hot liquid that is soaking with red chili paste, onions, glass noodles, and scallions. The beef ribs were shredded by the server table side. The taste was really robust and wonderful. We lingered, and each got through almost all our soup; the portions are generous. This is more of an experience, rather than a meal. I had a head cold and this was amazing medicine. The service was very friendly. The panchan were tasty side dishes that I scooped along with rice to add further substance to the soup. What an excellent find inside Eden Center. Big Korean bang inside the belly of Fall’s Church’s own Little Vietnam.

Vey good Korean food for hangover and nice restaurant inside Eden center and inside the mall. The waitress is very friendly and if you can speak Korean you will get special treats. A pleasant experience.

This is a new korean restaurant in Eden Center among all the vietnamese shops and restaurants. I have been here 3 – 4 times so far. I liked food everytime. They have flat korean metal chopsticks but i prefer wood. I saw vietnames, chinese, korean and american dining here. I hope they will last because it is hard to find an authentic korean restaurant like this close to DC. Their soups are awesome as well as bbqs. Love this place.

I’ve been a huge fan of Gom Tang E for a while and go to the one in Centreville often — so you can expect my delight when this location opened up in Eden Center(of all places). Now, this is either a smart business move, or a poor one — regardless, I applaud them for opening a Korean restaurant in middle of the biggest Vietnamese shopping hub in the DMV. Unfortunately the food quality does not stand in comparison to the Centreville location. The broth isn’t as flavorful, and neither is the meat. Also, the service was terrible. Perhaps because it’s still new, and the staff is still unfamiliar with the dishes? Lastly, although they have the Vietnamese translation on the menu, it’s still very difficult for some of the Vietnamese customers who don’t speak English very well. Picture this: a Korean server who knows very little English trying to help a Vietnamese customer who also speaks very little English. Let’s wait, with time, perhaps they will improve. But I don’t think I’ll be stopping by this shop the next time I’m in Eden Center, though.

As a cheap eats place, this is my new favorite. For $ 6 seollungtang and $ 8 soondubu(lunch prices), it is real Korean food at bunshik prices. You are not going to find seollungtang & soon dubu cheaper than this, unless you are shopping the pre-made food section at a Korean grocery store. It is fast, filling, and friendly. Plus, the cabbage kimchi, radish kimchi and odeng side dish here are excellent. I also come here for the service. The owner has has treat us so well when we’ve been here, and good/quality service is really hard to come by at Korean places. For the price point and service, I think it can’t be beat.

Delicious. Great Korean sides and spicy Kimchi! Loved the fish cakes! The bulgogi was tasty almost a smallish portion for a Korean bbq place. The bibimbap was also tasty as a perfect amount for the piece — split able OR lunch for the next day!

I was excited to hear that there was a Gom Tang E at Eden Center because I wanted to get my Korean Soup fix without having to drive out to Annandale or Centreville. 1. Finding a parking spot on a weekend is tough, so be prepared to make multiple laps around the lot. 2. The restaurant is located inside a strip mall so you have to walk through the main doors to get to it. 3. Service was good and fast. One waitress and the owner to help. 4. FOOD– Galbi tang had a soysauce type broth(more soysauce than usual) that was already seasoned. Pretty salty, so be sure not to add additional salt at the table. Fortunately, I liked the flavors and dish overall. Would definitely come back for the Galbi tang. Also tried the Bossam(pork belly served with Napa cabbage leaves, spicy radish, garlic and jalapeños.) Came with about 10 pieces, enough for one person, maybe two to share as an appetizer. It was decent –definitely not the best I’ve had — but it did the job. Everything is reasonably priced. Approx. $ 12/dish. Overall, a good option for those who live inside the Beltway(Arlington, DC) and don’t want to travel too far for some Korean soup.

We came here on a weekend during dinner. Service was good but probably because we were the only ones there. This review is mainly for the food. The bulgolgi was overcooked and a little on the dry side. Didn’t have the bulgolgi sweetness I’m used to. I got a spicy seafood stew. It was OKAY but the spice reminded me of flavor you would get from a soup packet… I much prefer the soups from Lighthouse Tofu. The menu had a lot of different Korean foods that we weren’t familiar with so it took a while for us to decide what to eat. This might not be the place for you if you prefer the«typical» Korean dishes.

I’m a sucker for all Korean cuisine so imagine my delight went driving around Seven Corners and a sign in Korean could be seen in Eden Center! I decided to come after work to get my soup on! 90 degree weather be damned! If you’re not familiar with Eden Center, some shops are located within the building. As soon as you walk in take the first left, then a right, and go straight and you will be here… or there. Ha! Nice little place, quick, nice service. They have Korean TV but play Wash FM and Spanish music plying from the kitchen. I don’t know but it out me at ease. I’ve had Kimchi Jigae and Soondubu(excuse my spelling). What I’m looking for is blood soup! I couldn’t find it in Annandale but I probably didn’t look hard enough. well Gom Tang has it and I tried it! My banchan consisted of kimchi, pickled radish, and fish cake. My soup looked awesome AF tbh! Bubbling and steamy! There is a goaty smell to it but it’s ox blood so I didn’t mind. The broth was good, not greasy. I did add a bit of salt and gochujang cause I likes the spice! My soup had big ass pieces of blood which wasn’t chewy and kinda reminded me when you eat the marrow of a chicken. There was a lot of cabbage and some pieces of oxtail in it. Those pieces were good and a bit chewy. Mad scallions but I honestly didn’t give a shit cause I like all veggies. I’m happy that this place is close to home and work and I will be back.

Sigh. I really wanted this place to work out, but I can’t even… The soups aren’t as good as they should be. Many of them come out pre-flavored… not knowing this one of my friends who I came with added salt before tasting the soup. Even without the salt, my soup hurt my lips from salt sting. And what is up with adding the green onions in for you… I’ve never had seulungtang at a place that does this. Oh, except for here. I love love love seulungtang. I will always love it, but honestly, this is a comfort food for me. I don’t wanna feel disappointed after leaving. Sigh, off to greener pastures.

Don’t understand the hate on this place. This is just as good as the old Annandale location. The is spot on delicious. Best in the area. Contrary to prior reviewers, I couldn’t find a menu in Korean. The menu they gave us was in English and Vietnamese. Maybe they had one in Korean, but we didn’t ask for it. Service was quick and prompt. My wife got oxtail soup and loved it. As many people have already commented, it’s in a weird location. You need to go inside a mall-like building and look for store #18. The store is not visible from the parking lot. This place is know for their soups. So stick to that and you’ll be fine. If you stray from this path, you’ll end up with just average cuisine. The(grilled beef) was better than average, but not fantastic.

I came here on New Years day seeking sweet slight hangover relief. While I didn’t go for the hangover soup — I’m not ready for all that blood/blood sausage yet — I did go for the oxtail seulangtang. And we got the hamul pajeon. And hot tea! My seulangtang was awesome. We both agreed we’d had better BUT that doesn’t detract from the awesomeness. Unlike Hannah’s experience, the meat fell right off the bone of my oxtails! It paired soo nicely with the mustard provided — like roast beef, argh so good. The broth was savory and flavorful though I do agree I’d like to be given the option to add as many or as few scallions as I’d like. The hamul pajeon was tasty as was the accompanying sauce. No complaints there! The tea hit the spot on that cold winter day. The service was spectactular! The woman and her two girls were super friendly and helpful and expedient at offering more hot tea and making sure we liked everything. My favorite part was when the fauxn bf informed her that he hadn’t had his ddeokguk yet that day. She was very concerned and offered him some of their personal stock in the back. New Years luck is important! He had plans to have some his mom’s ddeokguk later though, so hopefully some of his luck is intact. We had a great slightly hungover experience and are happy there’s a korean joint so close to falls church!

When my dad asked me to meet him for lunch at the new Korean restaurant in Eden Center I had to ask him to repeat himself. Located towards the back of Saigon West, the front is a bit unassuming. Just look for a banner of international flags being strung outside. My mom and dad really enjoy their goat stew here which is fall apart tender. Except for the slight goatish smell, you would have thought it was pot roast! The bibimbap was impressive looking with all of the pretty colors and mix of vegetables in it but there was barely any meat inside. It came out on a hot sizzling bowl but my rice never crackled at the bottom which made sad since that’s the best part. Bulgogi was tough. I wouldn’t order again. Service was really friendly and they served hot barley tea which was perfect for a cold, winter weather day. I’m not dying to go back but it’s good to know you can get solid Korean options in Falls Church!

«Gom Tang E» is a Korean restaurant chain that usually does well in most areas. They are known for authentic traditional Korean soups especially there sulangtang and also there first item on the menu. To make this broth is a long process that is not fun to make at home. Just like the previous Gom Tang E in Anndandale this was«ok» and nothing to really rave about. There other korean dishes look pretty good like there kablitang so there is hope that this restaurant will be around for a while since rent is super cheap. Overall I need to explore the menu a bit more before I can really get a feel for the place. Cheap price, good kimchi and a simple menu. should be a winner.

I am no expert on authenticity of Korean food but regardless of whether the food I consumed was authentic or not, it was quite enjoyable. All I know is that I’ve had a bad bibimbap experience in my past Korean restaurant ventures and this place has restored my faith in it again. The other dishes were quite good and I’d definitely return here again for some bibimbap.

About a 1 – 1.5: My husband and I came to Gom Tang E, as we are both fans of ssuhllungtang. The menu included items such as bbq entrees, bossam, and different types of stews/soups. When we walked in, we were seated right away. The owners, a cute Korean couple, were very sweet and friendly! Looking over the menu, it was interesting to see that it was both in Korean and in Vietnamese! I had their regular beef ssuhllungtang, and my husband had their ox tail soup. The broth of the ox tail soup was definitely better, as it seemed a bit heartier. There were definitely big ox tails within(about 2), with lots of meat — however, the oxtails could have been cooked much longer, as I love when the meat just falls off the bone — the tails were more on the tough side, very chewy and difficult to eat. I wasn’t a fan of the ssuhllungtang, as the broth was more on the watery side; in addition, there was an extremely small amount of noodles, and the beef slices, while plentiful, were of very poor quality and not fresh(tasted of freezer burns). I was also disappointed as both soups already came with the sliced scallions, so the option of adding as much or as little as you want did not exist. The kimchi and the ggakdooki were both on the very sweet side and did not complement the soups at all T__T The eatery is located in the Eden Center, but in the Saigon West plaza(closer to the front of the entrance to the plaza); they’re more in the southwestern part of the building. I’m glad I was able to check this place out, but will not be back. +located in Saigon West plaza(closer to front entrance of the Eden Center) +friendly and sweet Korean couple: D +menu is in both Korean and in Vietnamese +kimchi/ggakdooki are very sweet +beef in ssuhlungtang was of poor quality +oxtails in ox tail soup were very tough

Nice to have a location other than Centreville location. It may be touch to find and the parking is awful due to it being in Eden Center. The place is inside the Saigon West Bldg towards the back of the mall. Food was good. I would say that the Centreville location has a bit more stuff on the menu for now but overall the food was good if you know wha to order. This place specializes in Korean stews and soups containing different cuts of meat.

This Gom Tang E’s location is odd. Located in the inner labyrinth of what is Eden Center, you have to walk through the smokey mall all the way to the back to find the place. Also, oddly or maybe not so oddly, we were given menus in Viet. The server was Korean though and very nice. I liked how when they brought the kimchi over(both napa cabbage style and radish), they also brought us the whole pot in case we wanted to go ahead and have seconds! I proceeded with the seullongtang which is an oxtail broth. For those that have not had seullongtang, it is a great sick/hangover soup. It is unseasoned when brought out and the diner adds salt and pepper to taste and can dump rice in as well. I thought the broth was all good and fine, tasty after salt was added. I thought the meat had a frozen beef taste too it which I often find with phở meats as well. I could have passed on the meat but the soup was dandy. Two soups came to a whooping grand total of $ 12.
