Papa John’s Pizza

I feel bad for the delivery man, who had nothing to do with the disaster of an order this became. They initially flubbed my delivery address and when I called to fix this, they cancelled and resubmitted my order and stripped my coupons without notifying me. When they eventually delivered the pizza, it caught me by surprise when the driver asked that I pay in cash and at a much higher price than I had initially and already paid via credit card. I spoke with the manager on the phone, who was incredibly combative – practically shouting at me and accusing me that this was my fault and that I should pay. We sent the driver back with the goods, and though he sheepishly apologized on the establishment’s behalf, I’d be embarrassed if I worked for that man, too.

I did an online order and did pick up. Their carryout staff is seriously nice and offers great customer service. Pick up was an easy process and their staff went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed before leaving (parm and napkins)… and without prompts held the door open for me to leave. It’s the little things! I’m definitely impressed with this location.

Great customer service, Mr. Sultan was very courteous and friendly, helped me out with my order. Clean location and very helpful. Unfortunately I’m not from this area or else I would definitely order from there all the time.

man there is a man named abel, i know cause i asked him and he was really rude he got there an hour and 30 min and he didnt apologize or anything that pizza was as cold as his heart. i told him im not taking that and he started giving me attitude and he cursed when he left at me under his breathe horrible expierence they need to fire him everyone else is good but not him

This place needs an overhaul, starting with the management then the employees.
I was excited to come to Papa Johns this was one of my kids favourites, but out here in DC we attempted to go to the actual shop and the young man who came to the door said that the store was closed he was very rude and as he walked to the store you could see him cursing under his breath then he open the door and said «what», unfortunately that completely turned me off I still asked for a menu and he was very rude about it he said «do you really need one»… I would never order from Papa Johns here even if it was the last thing to order in this area unfortunately as the young man walked away you could see him cursing under his breath once again this place is terrible.
New York Pizza Factory which is near the same area was well worth it in terms of quality and service. When I ordered from them I received the pizza within 30mins and it was soooo delicious!
If I ever come back to DC I will I won’t even think about coming back to Papa Johns!

We’ve ordered from this establishment a number of times. However, the error made last night and the attitude of the store manager made me rethink ordering from Papa John’s in the future.
First, they screwed up our order. Then when we called about it, they lied to us, saying that they’d send the driver back to fix it.
The driver never arrived. We finished our meal, no missed calls, no communication. We then called to ask for a refund. The store manager, Kit, refused to give us a refund, insisting that the only way to process their error was to give us store credit, 50% off our next pizza.
Unacceptable. When a customer asks for a refund for an obvious error made by the establishment, give them a refund. Don’t force them to buy from you again.
If they would have refunded the money for the items we did not receive, I would have been happy. This should have been an easy fix. Send the delivery guy back out with the items we paid for, or refund the money. Instead, neither of these things happened.

Delivery:
The drivers we usually get are always friendly and prompt.
Quality of the pizza:
Pizzas are fresh and hot if not a little boring compared to the little gourmet pizza places around here.
Staff Answering phones/​Carry Out
This is the area that needs inprovement. When we order online, we rarely have problems. However, the few times we have called to order, something is inevitably a bit off.
This last time was a particular treat. We ordered a thin crust pizza with extra pineapple and received a hand tossed pizza with extra cheese. So, I called to explain the problem. The guy who answers is less than enthused. When I finish explaining there is just… silence. «Hello?» The guy on the phone: «Yeah?» Me: «Did you understand me?» Guy: Well, I can give you a credit for next time. Me: I don’t want a credit. I just want the right pizza. Guy: Well, the guy who entered the pizza put it in wrong and if you want another one it’s going to be at least an hour. Me: Fine. I guess I’ll just take the credit. And with that he hung up on me without saying anything else.
Now, I don’t expect 5 star service with my twenty dollar pizza, but I certainly don’t understand how you function with employees who hang up on customers. You can keep your credit Papa Johns, there are dozens of other places to call for takeout.

Staff is friendly and food is delivered fast

The food at this location is great, on par with any other Papa John’s, but the staff is slightly incompetent. They frequently mess up orders and on one occasion they even gave away my dad’s pizza to the lady in front of him in line and made him wait while they cooked a new one. Really the only reason my family and I order from this Papa John’s is because the sales tax is less than at the Falls Church location.

Food is poor and mang, is worse. Why should I give you ANY more money for CRAPPY FOOD?! ½ of is not a deal. Flippin Pizza will get my money. Plus they are not selfish.

That was pretty torturous. I placed an order via their site, and realized that there was nowhere to put in the promo code before it submits the order. So, I called the store to give them my promo code, and they told me that they couldn’t take it over the phone. So I tell them to cancel my order and I’ll place another. I ended up being on hold for several minutes waiting for someone to cancel my order. WTF? Why not just let the customer go while you do the administrative stuff?
I placed my second order while en route to pick it up. After getting there, I stood at the register for several minutes during what appeared to be the cashier writing an essay on the computer. Finally he grabbed a manager who instructed him on how to take my $ 7 and give me change. Then he tells me to wait a few minutes for my order. The person behind me said that he’s never seen the same person there twice, and he comes in often. He stood at the register while the cashier took a phone order, without even acknowledging the customer. After several minutes of him asking redundant questions, he takes the guy’s order. The customer orders a six cheese pizza, and the cashier asks if he would like extra cheese. The guy said, «Why would I order extra cheese on a six cheese pizza?» I had to contain my laughter, obviously.
I see a pizza get placed on the shelf behind the cashier, and I assume it’s mine. But, out of politeness I wait. Then wait some more. A few more minutes go by, and I ask the cashier how much longer it would be. Turns out it had been my pizza sitting there getting cold while I stood there waiting.
The only thing keeping this from being one star is that somehow, some way, this was one of the best Papa Johns pizzas that I’ve ever had. That doesn’t say much, of course, but I’m trying to keep my review scaled for reality.

I love their pizzas. I did carry-​out and it was reasonably fast.

Everyone who gave this a bad review is spot on… I gave them 3 trys to get my order’s right and on time but I guess the third time wasn’t even the charm… Terrible service from punk kids working there and the deilvery never shows up on time. I’m fed up and will be eating domino’s or a frozen pizza as stated below.

At my pool is a sign advertising large pizza & 2 20oz drinks for 9.99. I order 2 and when it shows up they were 10.99 each. I ask the guy & he says It’s a delivery fee. «A delivery fee», HA!
I say BULLSHIT! That’s false advertising.
Next time I’ll see if Dominos delivers what they promise.

Good pizza, incompetent and rude staff in this location
I was charged $ 6 more at the store for a carryout pizza I ordered online. The guy did not know how to void it, so he just charged me a second time with the correct price. He did not know what to do so he went about making more pizza and answering calls while I waited at the store. He said «it will be simple to void this, why don’t you just go home unless you enjoy standing here.» Instead of being apologetic for his mistake which he did not know how to correct he argued and was defensive. While I like Papa John’s, I do not recommend this location.

4 ½ Stars for this Papa John’s. Half Star for the Breadsticks, but still good even if they were a little extra crispy this time. This is one of the better PJ’s in the FFX area that I know of. It taste a lot better than the other PJ’s that we had ordered from before moving close to this one.
It may not be NYC Pizza, or Flippin’ Pizza, but it’s still very good whether you order on line or in person. And it’s way better than Domino’s and Pizza Hut in my opinion here. So if you live near this PJ’s, order from here, and you’ll see what I mean.

Eh, it is Papa John’s. Same as it is everywhere else. I do not love their sauce, but I know a lot of people are big fans of it. I specifically enjoy their bread sticks and cheese sticks. Their cheese dipping sauce is great and I especially love their garlic dipping sauce.
