Rental bikes were not great to start with, and needed a lot of work. Person manning the shop was totally disinterested in renting bikes or even communicating. When we pointed out the problems with the bikes upon our return there was no reaction. The bike path was great but we would recommend going elsewhere for bikes.

We rented bikes from the place last week. They were very efficient and the bikes in great condition. It’s a quick little ride over the Shining Sea Bikeway and away we went!
We wanted to try our son (20 mos old) in a trailer before committing to buying one. He promptly fell asleep as we rode past the seashore — I would say that it was a success.

It took me a while to realize that I have a bike shop that offers what I need, within walking/​biking distance of my house. I had always assumed Corner Cycle was more for rentals and road bikes or casual bikes. Then my father went there and got me a mountain biking helmet for my birthday, and he told me I should check the place out.
I needed to have the hydraulic disc brakes fixed on my mountain bike, so I brought it in on a Saturday morning. The guys were friendly and helpful, and told me it would be no problem for them to repair. I also brought my 6 year old and his bike, which needed a little work after he crashed it (yes, he had a helmet on). The guy doing the service said he could also put some new grips on the handle bars, and he might be able to get both bikes done that day. They called me before closing to let me know the work was done, and I could pick the bikes up first thing Sunday am.
They charged me a very reasonable price for the work, and did a great job on my brakes and fixing my son’s bike. I’m so glad that I have a bike shop like this in my town, that handles more than tourists and casual riders. They sell high-​end mountain bikes too, and any other gear I would need. The owner was in the shop, and he took a few minutes to give me some tips on my new full-​coverage helmet. Local business for the win!

Corner Cycle is the best bike shop on Cape Cod, maybe all of Massachusetts. It beats anything in Boston. It’s not the biggest bike shop, but George Sykes is one of the best bicycle mechanics in the United States. He ought to be, having wrenched for U.S. National Champion Mark McCormack, the first rider to hold U.S. national championships in both road cycling and cyclocross. The shop itself is as much cycling museum as retail shop, and a hub of champion cyclists from Cape Cod and southeastern Massachusetts. Corner Cycle’s racing teams, including the junior team, boasts numerous national champions and riders who have competed in world championships and gone on to professional cycling careers. Its proximity to the Shining Sea Bike Path and bike rentals make it a great place to start your family vacation. Buy some treats for the employees when you visit; they’ll be greatful. And expect expert advice and no baloney; they will never steer you wrong. This bike shop has a great vibe, unlike so many bike shops with bad attitudes or bad mechanics. The mechanics here are often serious bike racers, who will take care of your bikes as well as their own. If I could give it six stars I would.

I have visited this store twice now, because I thought maybe the poor service I received on the first visit was possibly just due to someone having a bad day, and I really wanted to give my local bike store another chance to win me over as a potential long term, local, year-​round customer.
I am accustomed to getting a phone call with a price quote before any major work is done on my bike. I did not get a telephone call, and when I came in to pick up my bike, the hefty tune-​up fee was quite a surprise and no one seemed willing to explain why I didn’t get a phone call prior to any work being done. I did get one response from an employee standing behind me not involved in the transaction who said ‘if you didn’t have such and expensive bike, it wouldn’t cost so much to tune-​up’, which made no sense to me at all.
I think this may be a good place to go if you are a tourist and looking to rent a bike for the short term, but if you are a local and are looking for a good bike shop to take your bike to for year round, long term, repeat service, then I don’t think this is the place for you.

Rented three bikes for the day, no hassle, no issues, didn’t have to leave a deposit, just pay and go riding. 10.5 mile trail entrance right around the corner. Parked for free on the street and had an awesome time. Highly recommended

Great service, awesome staff. They were super busy because it was the weekend of the falmouth road race, but everyone went out of their way to help us. My friend and I couldn’t get the bike to fit in our car and Joe and Alyssa spent about a half hour helping us get a bike rack attached to the trunk. Considering how busy they were, they really went above and beyond to help us.
The only issue we had was with respect to the rental bike. The bike would not fit in my car (Hyundai sonata) and we could not take the back wheel off because it would have messed up the brakes. If you plan on renting the bike and putting it in your car, plan on either using an SUV or renting a bike rack.

Good cycles. They have 4 tandem cycles. Very close to shining sea bikeway which makes it really convenient. :)

Our family rented bikes to go on the Shining Sea Bikeway on a beautiful summer day. It took all of five minutes to be set up with comfortable bikes and helmets and to be directed on our way to the path. When we returned that afternoon all the way to our hotel in Chatham, we realized our daughter had left her jacket behind in the bike basket. After calling back Corner Cycle, we were helped by Julia who was kind enough to offer to ship the jacket back to us. You can’t get better service than that!

Great no-​hassle bike rentals. Laid back, but attentive to our needs. Should you need some transportation for any length of time during the summer, this is the place to go. The great bike path to woods hole is well maintained and makes it a great option for those staying there as well.

Our third year coming here. Even though we stay in one of the neighboring towns, we choose Falmouth as a starting place for the Shining Sea Bike Path because of this bike shop. We consistently get well-​maintained easy-​to-​use bikes with a straightforward check out. Thanks to the staff for being friendly and accomodating.

Courteous staff, reasonable rates, and hassle free rental if you’re looking for bikes to use for the stunning Shining Sea Bikeway path along Cape Cod.
Rented tandem bikes (2 seated bikes) for ½ a day (max 8 hours) for $ 32, helmets and bike lock included.
They let you practice along the car park to get the hang of it and make sure you’re comfortable with the height of the seats before your depart. No adjustments can be made after that as the gears are secured tightly.
Bike locks are recommended if you plan on doing sight seeing in the little town of Woods Hole or stopping for lunch.
No baskets to the bikes, plan on wearing a back pack or cross body bag for comfort.

Great place to rent a bike!

We rented bikes here for the shining sea bike path. The price difference between an hour rental and ½ day is only a few dollars so we opted for ½ day rentals. They provided us with helmets and locks, though I found it unnecessary to use any of that.
We came around noon and they had run out of female bikes so I was reluctantly going to take a bit too large male bike. Fortunately 2 female bikes were just returned and I got a pretty blue bike with a cute basket for my bag! Yay! We did the complete back & forth of the trail (20 miles) in about four hrs.
Service was okay seemed like teens at their summer jobs. An odd thing was that one guy told us that the trail would take us 45 min. Err how were we going to tackle (20 miles) in less than an hour???

Any shop can fix a flat tire, but when it comes to a top notch components very few can match a knowledge and professionalism of Corner Cycle. After two highly regarded bike shops installed wrong components and did not even tightened them correctly, it was Corner Cycle that immediately identified the problem, found and installed the needed parts and all that was done while I was waiting. It is as good as it gets.

I’m so happy to have this choice bike shop in Falmouth. Where else can you find a shop where the owner still does tune-​ups and is at the store nearly every time you stop in. He’s friendly and knowledgeable about just about anything you’d want to know about bicycles.
I’ve taken my bike to cheaper places for a tune-​up and definitely paid the price. The turnaround time at Corner Cycle is quick and the price was well worth it. They even cleaned up my bike.
I can’t comment on the rental bike section, but the retail store has never been anything but good to me. Don’t expect to find a wide selection of used or low budget bikes… they only sell used bikes that were originally sold new from the shop… but you will definitely find good quality products and people who know what they’re talking about.

Regarding their bike rental business: In addition to renting bikes for recreational riding, if you are a more serious cyclist (i.e. ride a road bikes 100+ miles/​wk and bring your pedals and bike shoes on vacation), then this is a great place to rent [note: I was referred to them by one of the officers of the Cape Cod Cycling Club]. Last year they had a selection of Madone 5.2s that were great. And although they sold these bikes at the end of the season, they had Trek 2.3s this year that were still very good to ride. They are extremely knowledgeable about bikes and even helped on route planning (of 30 – 50 mi rides) around the Falmouth area.
