Inn On the Square

Well checked in on Thursday, there was a group of 12 – 15 year old girls running around up and down the stairs until 2am. Friday night the group of hockey parents came in. Super busy and very loud. The Inn has a nice pool but again the hockey parents and all the kids took it over. Kids playing knee hockey in all the halls so people had problems walking .
The rooms were nice and the heat works great. I do like this place don’t get me wrong but check before to see if there are any hockey tournaments happen. The staff were very helpful and great .
Just wanted to go and relax and not listen to screaming kids.

We read the reviews and booked there anyway. $ 100/​night was a way better rate than any other hotel we found. It was nice being within walking distance to everything. Even though there were steps to climb in the cottage it was fine. Even though we could here people in the hall it was not THAT bad. The room was very small but we weren’t there for the room we were there to see the sights and only one night so no big deal. Don’t skip just because of a few bad reviews.

Highly recommended… very nice. Beds a bit hard. pillows to soft. Thin walls but Older building. Refrigerator and microwaves provided. Deep 6ft pool. Over 100 DVDs to choose from. From Gone with the Wind to The Conjuring. All free with stay. Xfinity provided. Price was perfect. (mid October) Our hot water was fine. And AC worked excellent. And towels were super soft. Very close to shuttle to take you to the boats. (.3 miles) downtown and amazing restaurants all within walking distance .50 miles. Cozy classy décor.

No hot water dirty loud those are the words I would use to describe my stay here skip this place for sure there are much better hotels in the immediate area like the seacrest when I complained about no hot water the night I checked inn all they did was say the manager is not in right now and we will have someone check it in the morning this place sucks

We’ve been staying here for the past few days and absolutely love the price, location and the comfortable sleep arrangements. Very clean, quiet, and convent for the location it’s near. Less than a minute from Falmouth Main Street, near the highway for easier traveling. The room is very pretty inside and offers a lot for a great price. I highly recommend for anyone looking to stay in Falmouth.

I would highly recommend. A great value, really no complaints.
Hugely grateful for the return of my wife’s jewelry bag that we foolishly left in the wall safe. It was returned to us quickly and without anything missing. I don’t think I could tell you anything else that would tell you more about how this place is managed.
If you are going to Falmouth (and it is a great choice if you are visiting Cape Cod) I think they are the team to beat.

Bed was like a rock and the sofa bed was like a bag of rocks. Mentioned to desk person, no response. Mentioned problem in our survey from the hotel, but again no response. Hotel décor was a bit dated, location was good, but beds were the worst I have ever tried to sleep on.

This is actually one of the nicest if not the nicest in Falmouth. I stay down there a lot for work and i have to say this place is a tie with the local Holiday Inn for the number one spot in my mind. Just not the best sound insulation, it can get noisy if your neighbors are loud but the staff is usually quick to address that. The location is one you just can’t beat, short walk to main street which is the life of the place.
Great place overall, i like it a lot. I can’t say anything bad about it, the pool is clean and nice although i only went there a few times due to my long work days. The hotel is 0.1 mile from the bike path, and that was awesome for me, i could get my running done on a safe path with no cars.

This is a stunning, friendly, inexpensive and clean hotel. However, the noise level is terrible. If you are on the ground floor… you seriously hear everything that is going on outside of your room. The guests don’t seem to care when you ask them to be respectful for those that are trying to sleep. I will never stay here again, as my sleep is very important. I should have read the reviews before I booked here.

Recently stayed at this hotel and it wasn’t too bad. You can’t beat the location– it was a short walk to town, filled with a lot of awesome restaurants. The indoor pool was a plus (and heated!). Like other reviewers said, the walls are super thin and you can hear everything in the hall– otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

Someone who used to live in Falmouth recommended the Inn on the Square to me and it is convenient that you can walk to some of the restaurants if you want to. The worst part was the extremely slow check-​in process and the fact that the clerk tried to put me in a separate building, the cottage, and in a room right next to the road when they had vacancies. I spoke up and he did move my room and I recommend room 229 — you overlook the back patio and some woods. Yes, you have to walk up stairs, but as long as you don’t have a ton of luggage that shouldn’t be a problem.
The bed was really comfortable and the flat screen tv was huge. There is also a pool if you want to just relax but there is no gym. I don’t believe breakfast is included either but a rate of $ 99 during October seemed good for the area.
One negative that I think they could change easily would be to provide toiletries (shampoo/​conditioner/​lotion) that aren’t made in China. I mean seriously, who wants to bathe with products that claim to be environmentally friendly (no parabens) but are from China? Side rant.

The positives: location is great for walking down Main Street, the bed is covered with a super comfortable topper and pillows, in– room microwave and fridge, roomy and large, quiet, friendly staff. The negatives: no on-​site alcohol, no room service, no food after 3 pm. Well worth it.

Hotel staff: Very Nice
Appearance: The hotel was very clean but definitely could use an update. It looks like it’s been the same way for a very long time.
Rooms: Spacious, clean, but outdated and old.
Amenities: FREE wifi, onsite parking, and our room had a Jacuzzi in it which was awesome! One of the main reasons we booked a hotel hear.
Location: Close to Falmouth and walking distance to a little downtown area with shops. Not far from the ferry to Marthas Vineyard either.

I stayed at the Inn On The Square last week for a budget getaway. Overall, I was pleased with the accommodations. The pool was great and the room was comfortable and spacious for the price. It was in a great location… close to shops and restaurants and had convenient parking.
My one complaint was that the walls were very thin. The first night I could hear entire phone conversations of the occupant of the next room. That room seemed to stay empty until the last night we were there, when I was awakened by very loud snoring through the wall. It was so loud, in fact, that I couldn’t get back to sleep until I downloaded a noise machine app onto my phone and listened to the sounds of a rain storm through my headphones.
Other than that, I enjoyed the hotel.

Not impressed at all. The cottage rooms were dated and smelled. We had a leak in our ceiling that started at 530am that I reported and no one came to fix. We also had a clogged drain and lights out. Also, the street level noise is bad. I am not sure if the accommodations are better as some of the other reviewers pointed out but definitely do not stay in the cottage. After all that they offered me nothing for the issues we had.

This hotel needs to be updated. I have absolutely no complaints about the service, which was very good and helpful. The cleaning people were thorough, but there’s only so much you can do when the rooms are old (peeling wallpaper with stains) and smells of mildew. One good thing about this place is that they didn’t force me to book 2 nights, I was able to book 1 day with no hassle in high season.

My friends and I just stayed here this weekend. It was the noisest hotel I have ever stayed in!
Our first room was on the first floor and our bed was right next to the door. We could hear people talking in the hall, we heard the cleaning lady with her trash bags opening right outside of our door, we heard doors slamming like they were in the room with us. This all started at 6:30am. The room above us sounded like it had a herd of elephants with the loudest creaking I ever ever heard! Constant creaking when the people would walk around. I finally got up and complained to the front desk. They didn’t have a room available so they kindly offered us breakfast.
We did get to move on our third night. They put us in the room right above our first floor room. Every step I took, I could hear the floor creaking. I was so nervous of upsetting the people down below that I would only walk around when absolutely neccesary.
The pool was nice and warm. The bathrooms were nice and they rooms were a good size. They had a fridge, microwave and good cable.
I must say that the front desk girl ROCKED!!! That hotel NEEDS JILL!!! The most pleasant front desk person that I have ever encountered! She was so helpful with getting us around Cape Cod and we just loved laughing and talking to her every day. She was a real pleasure. If it wasn’t for Jill, this place would get a 1 star!

Noisy room, thin walls and floors.
When asked upon checkout «how was everything» and I responded «not very good actually», the desk supervisor excused himself and left a new clerk to check me out. His comments about being curious if the dumpsters and traffic impacted the room, and then no suggestion of compensation left me to think the management really doesn’t care.

Clean and roomy, though the first night I was here it was pouring rain and the ceiling started dripping water! It was surprising because the place isn’t run down at all. The next morning the staff changed my room with no fuss and gave me coupons for free breakfast. My next room was right next to the base of the main stairs and it was really loud whenever anyone went up or down, so try to avoid being put there.
I was there for business with at least 10 other people and no one had seemed to have problems.

I traveled to the area on business and was rather hesitant to stay in a non-​chain hotel, especially after reading such mixed reviews, but the Inn on the Square was the right price.
Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised. The Inn on the Square was nothing fancy, but it was clean and definitely on par with what you would find at a Hampton Inn or Mariott Courtyard. I saw reviews complaining about the thin walls, but I had no problems. Yes, I could hear people who were talking in the hallways, but I had no noise issues from neighboring rooms. I did not have a lot of involvement with the staff, but I had no complaints. The front desk clerk was happy to help me figure out where to go for dinner, and had no problem giving me change for a $ 20 for the vending machine.
My only complaint was the lack of even a continental breakfast in the mornings. The hotel does have an attached restaurant that is open for breakfast and lunch, but it’s sit down service — no way to grab a banana and a coffee on the way to work.
I stayed on a Tues-​Thurs at the end of June if that makes a difference — not sure how busy the hotel was.
