The is one of Falmouth’s hidden treasures. The take out food is so good and I love the gourmet food items that you can take home. It is a very busy place during lunch, even in the dead of winter, but the service is fast.

Ethnic food? Dear Unilocal, does ethnic food mean fresh produce and unique snacks? If so, I guess the category fits. Jack in the Beanstalk is where I go to shop when I’m hungry, because there always at least a few delicious samples hidden in corners. And I always end up buying at least one. The produce is fresh, and is one of the best spots to get corn on the cob. I’ve recently ventured out into the sandwich section– and the turkey with stuffing is just so good. Though, I should have asked for a side of gravy. And, it was only $ 4.95. Cannot be beat.

Jack in the Beanstalk is a fantastic Cape grocery store. It’s smaller — more boutique — than some of the alternatives, but it’s personable, staffed by friendly locals and carries a really choice selection. They’ve got rows of fresh fruits( ) and vegetables( ), a capable selection of ethnic foods-type sauces and mixes( ), olive oils( ), and more jams than you can shake a stick at( ). They carry drinks( ), a nice set of deli-type things like marinated meats( ), and some good frozen pastas and such( ). All that’s good for four stars. Where, then, does the fifth star come from? They carry a MASSIVE starter log( ). i mean huge. Come on, that thing is serious.
