Stayed here for a few months for work, very spacious rooms and very quiet area. Currently under renovations will be really nice when finished

The good: the price, and even better through Hotwire at less than $ 47 including high taxes. Has refrigerator, sink and microwave. Nice bed and pillows. Quiet. Across the street from McDonalds and near restaurants. Centrally located but pretty quiet location. The meh: WiFi is free but only 0.5 to 0.7 download speed, my home DSL is 5.2 and cable Internet is much higher. The furniture in room is clean and OK. Now had to request the free plates, silverware, coffee pot, and toaster. No ice machine, you are supposed to wait until your refrigerator w/o automatic ice maker freezes some. Room cleaning service is only once a week. Electronic keys have not worked the first time each time I’ve stayed and lobby has to reactivate them. Really cheap free continental breakfast. Elevator doesn’t inspire confidence. Has exercise room and paid laundry room. The bad: small dingy lobby and hallways. The rooms are OK but hallways and lobby leave bad impression. No coffee pods for coffee pot! If you just want a nice bed to stay in and an OK room with microwave and refrigerator at a great price you get it. Don’t expect more.

During an eleven day professional trip, my supervisor booked Extended Stay America for my stay. The emails made the hotel look updated and well put together. Well, this is where the nice road ends. I checked in after a long drive. The lobby smells of a mix of mold and smoke and is completely unimpressive and sad. I checked in and felt that this is not where I want to be for eleven days. Once in the elevator, I prayed that I would not get stuck(and actually was stick briefly during stay). There is a missing button and it yelled, ‘I need MAINTENANCE!‘ I reluctantly go up to the room. The room is cleanish(they did not clean the bathtub; there was still soap from last person who used the room) and large but it is very outdated and has a smell. I unpack and try to get settled. I decide to go grocery shopping. When out, I called another hotel that I stayed in previously to see if they could accommodate me. They say they can. When I go back to the Extended Stay America, I told the front desk the news that I need to cancel the room. The gentleman behind the desk did not seem surprised at all. He charged me for one night. I should be sleeping a lot better at the new hotel!

This hotel fit our needs. I read some skechy things about this place but I found them to be false. The reason we stayed here was because we flew into Dallas at 11:30pm. We just needed a place to crash for a few hours so I hotwired this hotel. Yes, its not a Hilton or a Marriott but it has everything you need. The room was clean and the place was quiet and the bed was really comfortable. If you are an average person who doesn’t have a silver spoon in their mouth, this place will be fine for a night or two. The best thing about it was the price. I got it for under $ 50 a night. Would I stay here again? You betcha! Oh yea, the shower pressure in the shower was the best I’ve every had. Just so you know, I’m a Hilton Gold card member and this place was on par with a Hampton Inn. I’d actually prefer this place to some of the stupid Hiltons that nickel and dime you to death. Oh, you want internet, $ 14.95, want to park, $ 25 a night, want breakfast, another $ 12.95. Yea, if you can live without the big brand name and overlook a few things here and there, you’d save a lot of $$$ on your room. Very glad I took a chance on this place. Now, I also know that sometimes you get stuck with a noisy or obnoxious neighbor but that is not the hotels fault. I’ve stayed at top dollar hotels and had the same noisy kids upstairs jumping on the bed. Sometimes, its a bit of good luck who your neighbors are. Give it a shot. You have the extra funds?, ya spend up and get a nicer place. If money is an issue, this place is a fine bet.

I stayed at the Extended Stay America — Farmers Branch location on March 9 and 10. The room was not guaranteed although it was confirmed by an online service provider(Name withheld). The desk clerk was going to place me in a smoking room until I said I could not stay in a smoking room — I was supposedly upgraded, but it was not obvious — all the rooms were pretty much the same, although most were out of service while the in-room HVAC were being cleaned. The room was dirty, the enclave kitchen area was worse, because dishes had the previous occupants grease and dried residue still on them. The bed side light and phone did not work, and getting access to the WiFi was a challenge. After having secured a 2 night stay, when I tried to use the card key on the second day my card key was locked out. When I asked the front desk clerk for help, she was upset that I interrupted her meal as she began to blow spittle and food on me while she spoke about only being guaranteed 1 night. Obviously she was incorrect, because she reset my card key, and walked away with out even a later dude… I have been gluten free for about a year, and the breakfast was all wheat based breakfast foods — when I asked for an apple or a banana that was not mealy or bruised, I was told that was all they had and I could go to McDonald’s. I’ve stayed at a number of Extended Stay America locations on business through out the east and west coast. I can assure you that this place is an exception. Although the area Farmers Branch/Addison is conveniently located to some pretty good dining, and great access to get in and around Big D, this place is not worth the price, even if it were free. I have to return to Dallas in a few weeks, I think I will stay at the Le Meridien by The Galleria. They are only a few bucks more and have a much higher rating on all of the rating sites — Oh, speaking of which — I’ve noticed before this post, when ever this place got a poor rating — you saw within days that someone rated it with all 5 start — hummm — how odd?

I stayed at this location for 5 days when Hotwire offered it as one their hot deal ‘you don’t know the hotel until you buy it’ deals. Given the low rates Hotwire charged I was impressed. The bathroom was clean, it had an enclave kitchen which I didn’t use and the bed was comfortable. It was pretty much like a 400 sq ft efficiency apartment. They had about 30 cable channels on a decent size high definition tv. I wouldn’t pay much more than 30 dollars a night though. Some other reviews on other sites mentioned noise but it was quiet enough I could easily hear the fountain across the street.
