I really want to give Pete’s 5 stars, but their service is the reason why. My boyfriend and I came in to try Pete’s for the first time and were greeted by a friendly hostess. We were seated quickly even though it was busy. We both looked over our menus and after a few minutes our waitress came to take our orders. She seemed nice at first but began rolling her eyes when we started ordering and seemed disinterested. I brushed it off, but then when she came to deliver our food, she just plopped our plates down in front of us, we said thanks, no comment or you’re welcome. Not even half way through our meals, she came back to our table and slipped our bill next to us without checking on us or asking if we needed anything. Other customers were being seated next to us, and her demeanor changed completely with greetings and conversations. We didn’t see her or spoken to her until I got up to get a to go box on my own where she was standing and asked, «You’re done?» Yes we are done, you would know that if you came to our table to check on us. My boyfriend and I are of Asian and middle eastern ethnicity and she spoke excitedly to others that were… well plainly put Caucasian. I don’t want to play the race card, but someone knows when they are being treated differently. The food was great despite the bad service from our waitress. The other waiters and waitresses were attentive so Petes isn’t so bad despite our unfortunate experience.

Sunday morning 9am it was a packed and the wait wasn’t that bad. They turn tables quickly. 5 min and we were seated and drinks came 2 min later. Our waitress«May» was so nice. Country style cooking, nothing fancy or unique but good quality and cooked well. Food: good coffee, anything you order can be cooked however you choose. Crispy bacon, eggs over hard, that will accommodate. French toast was pretty normal. House bottled Hot sauce is roasted and goooood. Overall, great place to go for breakfast. Grandma’s cooking country style breakfast. Fast service, friendly staff and good quality food.

The 4 stars would go for the food not the service. If you plan on going for a weekend brunch, good luck with parking and be prepared to wait in a line. This was my first time at Pete’s but I’ve seen this place driving on Beltline. I ordered the Pete’s special which comes with eggs, bacon or sausage, hashbrown or grits and pancakes. I substituted the pancakes for waffles instead and it was a buck more. Everything was delicious and the waffle was fantastic! the hash browns were seasoned and the eggs were cooked perfectly. My only issue was the service… The server never once asked if I needed anything or asked how the food was. All she did was hand me my water and brought napkins. She handed my check 10 minutes after my food arrived. I was about a quarter way into my meal and was handed my check. I’m sorry but do you want me to get up and leave? I noticed how she was so kind to other tables so it wasn’t a rough morning for her. Did I leave early? Nope. I just took my time and enjoyed my meal. All because I had bad service here won’t stop me from coming but if this happens again I will ask for another server.

Perfect! Best down-home cooking. Go there now and eat before 2. You will enjoy and come back. A better quality diner experience ye shall not find.

Tasty food. Friendly staff. Great value. This is my first visit and I would definitely come again. The serving size is perfect for a hungry crowd. The people sitting down all seem like regulars. The coffee is great and I really like the positive vibe.

This is by far the easiest 5 star I have given. I always get Pete’s special for breakfast. Always fresh and tasty. $ 7 plus change is a steal for such a tasty breakfast.

Chicken fried steak was good and pancakes are tasty and fluffy! Everything else is ok. Ambience is diner meets truck stop. I still like Cyndi’s better for the variety, baked goods, Rubens, and breakfast still. Both places are hole in the wall an affordable though!

Food is good but not great, service is nice but not excellent, restaurant is clean but not spotless, but for some reasons these factors added up for me to have to give them 5 stars!!! Even it’s not the greatest breakfast spot however you feel like you have to keep coming back, atmosphere? Magic? Whatever it is I love it! Great for hangout. Highly recommended.

Not a lot of breakfast restaurants serves corned beef. This is one of them. The service is fast and typical of a diner — friendly staff and the locals who frequent them. Whenever the wife is with me she orders chicken fried chicken with gravy and mashed potatoes and green beans. they do serve Eggs Benedict and they do that good as well.

Went to this place on a Saturday, was seated promptly since I was in a party of two. All of their larger tables were full. Good diner food.

Consistent! I love Petes Café! Through three different ownership change of hands they have continued to be the breakfast/brunch of choice for home cooked food. They have excellent short order cooks and sassy sweet waitresses! Coffee is tasty and so are the cinnamon rolls! Food is made to order. I usually eat breakfast however the lunch is worth the stop too!

Iconic greasy spoon landmark. It seems to get tougher and tougher to find a «TRUE» old school breakfast place. Most times we see the i-this or hop-that chain that seem to employ folks that have never worked before. Our waitress had been at Pete’s Café for 15YEARS with a warm smile and attentive service. TIP, go during the week just after 1PM. It slows down and you don’t have to wait in line with all the 40 year regulars(est 1975). Food? Get anything breakfast as it is all awesome. My corned-beef hash, eggs, biscuit and gravy were perfect and infact, I wonder if my G-ma was back in the kitchen as it was that good. Go ahead and cheat on your diet, Pete’s is well worth it.

I’ve been going to Petes for 11 years now, mostly for breakfast but sometimes their daily specials. They have a Killer chicken fried steak! Their biscuits and gravy are made from scratch daily. Yes, they have Real Gravies! Fresh cooked vegetables, and their hash browns are made from fresh potatoes. They have never ever failed to leave me stupified with the warm feeling of comfort food. The staff is as warm and friendly as a Cheers bar crowd, and you’ll see acts of kindness from them as well as the customers. It is a genuine treasure.

Met a friend up here for lunch and it was busy! The food was delicious and exceeded what I thought I was going to get. I got a generous portion of Meat Loaf with fried okra, potatoes, AND a salad with cornbread and roll for under $ 10. Service was quick considering all the people that were in there. Will definitely visit again!

Seated and served very fast. Waitress was friendly and took good care of us. I got the Pete’s special with french toast, sausage, hash browns, and eggs over hard. French toast was a little flat, sausage was very flavorful, hash browns seemed to be made from scratch which was cool and they were good, and the eggs, well it’s hard to mess up eggs. It is kinda hard to get to this place. I think unless you’re coming from the north, the best thing to do would be to drive in past the sonic and there’s a short dirt path that can take you to the parking for the café.

Talk about an old school diner, this is it. Great waitresses that know their stuff, great prices, huge portions and delicious food. I love coming here on weekends for breakfast as you feel like family. Best corned beef hash I’ve ever had, well at least since my mom made it for me! Coffee cup is never empty and you’re seated so quickly. Glad it’s a drive from our house or I’d weigh 400 pounds! Love this place!

My dad used to bring us here when we were kids. After over 10 years, I brought my colleagues to Pete’s to see if it was still as good as I had remembered. It definitely is! Their country fried chicken, sandwiches, omelets are all really good. The prices are very cheap and the portions are fairly large. Service is good and friendly. It won’t be another 10 years before I come back.

Overall, okay food but it was so crowded during the weekend that the service seriously lacked. The woman who very quickly dropped off my lunch had her head turned around to finish her conversation with the person behind her and didn’t even look at me let alone ask if everything was okay. My chicken fried steak was a little disappointing. It didn’t seem crispy enough. The mashed potatoes also seemed really bland to me to where I had to add tobasco to it to help it out some. Green beans and the fried okra were great, however. I might come back for a second chance because so many items on their menu looked great but hope I’ll feel a bit more welcomed next time.

Wanting to try a local restaurant for breakfast, and tired of the free breakfast provided at the hotel, I read reviews, and Pete’s Café was listed with stellar reviews. I read through them, and they had two consistent themes, which were good food and friendly service. My wife and I decided to try it out. When we arrived, the line was at the door, but they do have a good operational strategy about getting people to a table quickly, so do not become too overwhelmed with the line. We were seated in about 15 minutes. Our waitress was sweet. She sat down at our table to take our order, and I completely understood why she needed a seat because they really work hard! She opened with friendly conversation, which was a nice welcome from the usual ‘what can I start you with?’ The menu has a lot to choose from, both breakfast and lunch so she would stop by to check to see if we had made our decision. We both ordered different meals, I had to get the country fried steak, mainly because one of my guilty pleasures is gravy, and boy do you get a lot, especially if you choose to have biscuits and gravy as one of your sides. The food was delivered quickly, and everyone was pleased. The initial reviews were spot on with good food, and friendly service. I had to get a souvenir coffee cup to remember the trip by. Just a coincidence that my name is Pete :)
