I went here because of the suggestions of a few coworkers. They had scoped out the area the day prior and were convinced that this was the place to be. By now, I should have remembered what horrible taste buds some of my coworkers have, but I like giving people the benefit of the doubt. I’m not a fan of meat on pizza. Never have been and never will be. I’ll take a bite or two if that’s all there is, but I’m more of a veggie pizza gal. It was between mushroom or margherita, but the basil won out. It was kinda mesmerizing watching the guy behind the counter make my pizza. He sprinkled a nice amount of flour on the board, grabbed a ball of dough, and started working it. Placed some slices of mozzarella and tomato on and shoved it in the oven. A few leaves of basil and it was done! $ 22 or something like that for this pizza that only came in one size. I was kinda excited. Well… the taste was nice. The mozzarella melted perfectly and almost gave the best cheese pull I’ve ever seen, but the tomato juice seeped into the pizza dough and made it über über über soggy and I like soggy pizza dough! But not like that. It was too much. I could pinch a piece of dough and it would just drip V8. Ugh. I ate one slice and went to bed. The next morning, though… The pizza was amazing! The dough firmed up and the tomatoes weren’t a sloppy mess. It even has a pleasant crispiness as I bit into it. Day old pizza is obviously the way to go. Thanks, Gino’s!

Ginos Pizza of Farmingdale has been my «go to» choice for over 25 years! John is the owner and has taken over a wonderful place where his dad Sal established a tasty pizza for the classic best! Where some other pizzerias focus on many different and sometimes odd toppings, this traditional pizza place is the best in Farmingdale! Our family won’t order pizza from anyplace else, and we thank John and his staff for putting up with our very specific ordering directions! Delicious! Perfect! Kudos!

This is your old school pizzeria. No frills, just the basics and that’s what I love about it. Everything they make is good if not better. I have tried a few of the specialty slices and they have always been pretty good but this place shines with the regular slice. The plain slice seems to have fallen out of favor in recent years due to recent trends and markups but I consider it the hardest pie to make. There’s no hiding off flavors with a regular slice(or pie). The regular slice is the bellwether of the pizza world. You do it right and the rest falls into place. This place does it right, a classic NY Cheese Pizza. Just the right amount of sauce, perfect ratio of dough to cheese and the sweet spot in regards to the bottom. Not to hard but just right, crispy, crunchy with just the right amount of chew.

Visit Date: May 15, 2015 Came here with hubby! This is the second time I’ve been to Gino’s but it seems I never wrote a review for the first time. I had a brooklyn slice with breadcrumbs, onions and a few other ingredients I forgot. It was flavorful & an interesting slice to eat. I also ate some garlic knots. The garlic knots were a little on the dry side but still pretty good. I like my garlic knots on the greasy side. The staff was friendly even though they were extremely busy making pizzas. I noticed a few regulars coming in and the employees took the time to say hello to them and gave them the attention that regulars deserve! Not a bad pizza place, wouldn’t call it memorable but it’s a nice place to eat at.

Old time favorite. They keep it simple. Grew up eating Gino’s and still grab a slice every now and then. I love the ala vodka pizza and basically all their pizza. I haven’t had a slice I haven’t liked. They have a very simple menu so for some that may be a con but I sometimes find that if restaurants have too big of a menu or have a bunch of entrees quality can get sacrificed. Great place to stop though if you are looking for pizza or calzones

I grew up around the corner from this pizzeria and the father used to own it. When the dad owned it, the pizza was amazing! Now that the son owns it, the pizza has went down hill unfortunately. Does not accept credit cards, only cash!!!

Geez, all these negative reviews! Gino’s is the classic Farmingdale go-to for great pizza. The listing says«not good for groups?» Tell that to the mobs of people coming in and out after ball games and recitals. Not good for kids? Pizza is always good for kids! This place wouldn’t be here as long as it has if it sucked. Pizzerias come and go in our town and Gino’s always remains. I personally have been eating here for over 30 years — my grandma used to buy their dough to make pizza at home during Lent. Try the sausage pizza — they slice the sausage long ways so it curls up crispy on the edges in the oven — YUM! I have never had a bad experience at Gino’s — and I often go there with non-Italians who are treated just fine as well ;-) and no –one has ever reported feeling«uncomfortable» I actually appreciate a pizzeria with Italians behind the counter as much as I do a Sushi place with Japanese staff or any other ethnic food being served by the people who know it best. No Uggs or blow-outs required, just a smile, a «hey how ya doin» and a love for good old-fashioned pizza.

Do you like Quick and simple? Well, the pizza was just fine! Im from florida so i probably dont know anything about pizza. But here the crust was crispy and I liked it because its totally different then papa johns or florida pizza. Whatever to what the others said I’d go again! Clean enough! Although the peopel behing the counter were wierd guys. Everyone in NY is pretty much wierd under the age of 35

Cheap. This what pizza tastes like when they use cheap cheese, cheap watered down sauce, and bland crust. The back dining area is dark. Employees are nice enough, however the cost cutting shows in the product quality.
