My fiancé had a ring on hold at a large, well known jewelry store in the Twin Cities. Before buying it, my mother insisted that he look at Gersters first (I grew up in Farmington and most of my family lives there, we now live in. Minneapolis). He humored her and went along…
Turns out they had a similar ring, but it was bigger AND better quality for a lower price! Score!
Fast forward a year and the fiancé and I are in need of some wedding bands. We browsed many jewelry stores at the mall to get an idea of the styles we like and the price range. They all had a similar selection for a similar price.
The next day we went to Gersters and they had the same rings for literally HALF the price! Score again!
Not only is Gersters significantly more affordable than the bigger chain stores, they also have a good selection and amazingly fast turn around time (they re-​sized my ring in less than a day and will have our wedding bands ready in just a few days– compare to the mall stores who quoted six weeks)! Definitely worth the drive down to Farmington, and you can feel good about supporting a small family-​owned business. Thank you Gersters, you’ve earned a loyal customer!

if you need a gem, for some reason the Gersters get top quality rocks that put larger store’s offerings to shame. Don’t let the modest exterior fool you — this place is top class.

They are so great! Starting with my engagement ring… Tim took me on a field trip out to Farmington, and they opened the store especially for us. and I found the most amazing ring… EVER.
This time it was my birthday, and Tim took me for a surprise visit to pick something out… well, it’s like a kid being in a candy store! I settled on a simple but beautiful opal ring, which they had sized for me right away. It’s always good to give good, local, hardworking people our business, instead of some store in the mall. Gerster’s really is a great place, and next to a cute ice cream shop and nice little downtown in Farmington. Consider it as a nice little daytrip… complete with jewelry! Works for me!
By the way… not that I know the EXACT prices, because everything I’ve got here has been a gift… and I know we’ve been given a discount… but apparently they are very reasonably priced
