Literally the most horrific restaurant experience ever. The meat cuts all look the same and taste gamey and doused in salt. I took two bites and couldn’t tolerate it anymore, same goes for my boyfriend. What is this mystery meat? The salads are always wilted and consist of about 5 pieces of lettuce. We were so disgusted that we couldn’t even go somewhere else to eat after because we lost our appetite.

Love the food and the people that own and run it… they are a wonderful family. Food is great, and you certainly get a lot of food for a good price.

You get what you pay for… Why would you go to Farmington Steak House and pay $ 10 for a steak and expect it to be the best steak you have ever had? I wouldn’t have high expectations if I were you. But if you are looking on a cheap alternative for dinner and don’t mind bland food this is your place.

I’ve never been here and was a little hesitant as it was a cafeteria style which I’m not really into. I gave it a try and the food was way better than those chain restaurants out there! Loved the deliciousness in every bite! The only think I didn’t like was how cold your sides get by the time you pick up your food. Portions are huge! I took more than half home with me but it was worth every dollar! Yes, they don’t take credit or debit but no big deal! People stop complaining they take personal checks and just bring the cash when you go in the next time;)

Always a favorite! I have been going here for many years. Pete’s daughters have kept the long tradition he started. Always get the special and an extra piece of toast… can’t be beat and the price doesn’t hurt the pocketbook!

This is got to be my favorite steakhouse in town. The people are great and friendly and love their business and their customers. I can still taste the wonderful ribeye steak. It’s easily worth a 10 mile detour. I told the owner that I like the coffee cup and she said that I could take it home.

The cheapest, biggest portion steak dinner that you can get is here. Old school cafeteria style, grab your tray, slide it down the counter, wait in line while you watch your steak being grilled in front of your eyes. And while you wait, the lovely lady at the cash register makes conversation with you and makes you feel like part of their family. Last time I was here, they noticed my 15 month old daughter was with us, he ran to the back, and handed her a little piece of free cheesecake. Don’t forget to ask for extra buttery texas toast. You wont want to waste your time going to a fancy, snobby, rich steak house again once you’ve been to Farmington Steak House.

I’m not sure where to begin with this place besides its quite possibly the worst place I’ve ever eaten! Let’s start with the weekend special which is allegedly a ribeye for $ 9.10. First off it is not a ribeye, I dubbed most of what they are serving as mystery meat because I am unable to tell what cut of meat it is. Most likely butcher scraps that should be used to make hamburger. The place is very dirty, half the silverware I pulled out on there cafeteria like line had dried food stuck to it. I imagine this is what a prison steakhouse would be like. The chicken noddle soup there are serving is the worst looking tasting soup I’ve ever had, and no that’s not a typo, that’s how they spell it there. The baked potato tasted like it had been reheated for 3rd day and row. Not only was my steak and steak scraps not cooked to order they tasted like they were cooked on a grill top that has never been cleaned, charred burnt taste to it. The only way this place can possibly have a four star rating is if your looking at price. But for the money you couldn’t pay me to go back to this horrid place.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not much of a steak kind of girl UNTIL I came here. The baked potato, the toast, the salad, the MUH-EAT…all so, so, so delicious. All 5 of my cousins who are 14 years and younger enjoyed it as well. I mean if you got fussy kids who are picky about food, I’m telling you this place will change them.

My first time here but, it will not be the last ! I just stopped in for lunch and was going to get a Gyro sandwich but, decided to get the Every Day Special for $ 3.55 This is a square, chopped steak patty with Texas toast, baked potato with butter and soup or salad. I added sour cream and a soda, all for about, $ 5.00 I had the soup. It was beef and noodle with chunks of tender beef, celery and egg noodles. The soup was nothing fancy but, it was good. The steak patty was grilled and was tender and had good flavor. The owner and one of her daughters, pleasantly greeted me when I walked in the door. Very nice service. The interior of this place was nicer and bigger than I expected. The quality of food and the service exceeded my expectations. The prices are so reasonable, and I am so cheap, I will be back !

Good food! Really. Awful décor, I mean AWFUL! Like 70s on steroids. Buttttttttttttt… Good food for a particular low price! Gyro plate is filling and not some frozen meat out of a box. Hamburger steak is good too. Get some kids meals to go for a ridiculous cheap takeout. No delivery. Cash only my friend!!!

Service was friendly and we got our food quickly. Between the four of us, we ordered: two hamburgers, barbecue beef ribs, and a steak burger meal. Hamburgers were big, greasy, and came with very greasy fries. The ribs were huge, fatty, and came with a choice of soup or salad, a baked potato, and texas toast. My son enjoyed the steak burger that came with a potato, texas toast, and soup. Menu prices are incredibly low. Our family of four could eat at a fast food restaurant for the same amount of money that we spent on this meal. You get slightly more then you pay for as far as food quality goes. Would I consider this better quality then fast food, most definitely. If you’re looking for a big, cheap, greasy, and fatty meal, this place will deliver.

Have you ever soaked your steak in your water softener overnight for flavor? Me neither. I think that’s what I ate here. Walking in I was immediately aware this place is a dive. I thought: Cool! I like dives as they’re usually hidden gems of delicious. This thought continued on as I walked up to the prison cafeteria-style line and grabbed my tray. I ordered the«March special» which consisted of a New York strip steak, baked potato and salad. This is when it wasn’t cool anymore. I passed on the salad as it was simply apparent there were empty bowls in a glass showcase with some bag-salad strewn about in there. I didn’t feel like scraping it off the bottom of the shelving and filling my own bowl. Continuing down the line I encountered several other items to pass on that ranged from packaged condiments to fresh(dry) peppers. I then saw the toast on the grill, that looked good! I opted for a piece of that. We got rung up and she told me I got a free salad with my meal. I said«no thank you» as I watched this weird slab of meat on a plate come toward me. At least it had a couple pieces of toast and a baked potato, can’t mess that up. Right? I enthusiastically brought my meal to a table by the restroom to soak in the ambiance. First bite of the steak and it hits me like an umbrella to the face(like the one the Morton’s Salt girl carries). Is this a saltwater cow? What the moo? This was THE saltiest, worst piece of «meat» I’ve ever encountered. To be objective and fair, I had my buddy taste some of it as well. I watched as his eyes immediately got large with surprise and he blurts out a: «wow, that IS bad». I tried a few more bites and stopped. I just couldn’t bear any more of the salt. This steak even had a gamy aftertaste which I have never encountered with beef before. What was I eating? With over ¾ of the steak left, I was done with that. I moved on to the baked potato and that was raw with some disgusting melted substance on top that appeared to be butter but tasted like a strip-mall gym smells. I stopped after two bites. I moved on to the toast and was able to stomach the entire first piece. This was semi-OK. The second piece had a blast of that melted substance though so I had to call it quits. I never left so much on the table before but I was disgusted. I’ve read it in another review, you definitely get what you pay for here. This proves to be quite a pickle when the most expensive thing is like $ 12. I’m hoping you can avoid the high blood pressure saltwater steak that I had if you try this joint out. It was the worst meal I have had in years. Buyer beware… especially when you’re ingesting bought things.

Greasy but large steaks served with baked potato and bread. The menu, which has daily specials, has other items, but not many. The five stars are for the prices, the portions and ease of self-serve. Basically, Farmington Steak House is exactly like the Best Steak Houses that have been around the Twin Cities for several decades, and with a similar menu. The prices are low and the service friendly. I would hesitate to call the shelves full of cars and other decorations«ambience», but it has character for a greasy spoon.
