Nemacolin Wooflands Pet Resort & Spa

We had the worse experience. The staff is young and immature and they don’t care about your animals safety or wellbeing. My dog wasn’t watched and almost died under their neglect. It’s very upsetting because you pay alot to board there and alot for the suites and special packages and you think your pets are getting the best care but that’s not the case. Be cautious if you board your pet there. I will never again. The worst dog care and worst experience we ever had with our beloved dogs because the young staff has a no care-​whatever attitude… it’s unfortunate because it’s a beautiful facility and with the right caring people it would be a great place to board your dogs.

Our dog stayed there 2 nights in Oct 15, with basic package and nail trimming and nature walks. The nail trimming and grinding results looked very good. We think the report card didn’t actually reflect what happened– she ate hardly any food and didn’t seem to have slept much at all despite the report card saying she ate & slept lots. We wish someone would have told us about her nature walks so we’d be more confident they actually happened. Pretty expensive overall. Our dog seemed fine afterwards– no signs of any bruises or bites.

We drove 3 ½ hours to get here only to be told we couldn’t stay in the main hotel and were shuffled off to some old townhouses 1.5 miles away at the edge of the property!!! I can’t think of a worse experience I have ever had a «resort».

My 2 year old English bulldog LOVES it here! When we picked him up he kept wanting to go back to his room and play with the staff in the lobby. He was well taken care of and my husband and I felt good about the stay. They have many room options and play time options to work with your budget. The price was a little higher than some other places but in our experience the money was well worth the piece of mind that our pup was happy healthy and safe while we were away.

Walking into Wooflands, it smells clean and fresh. We brought our dog Zoe in for daycare while we were visiting Fallingwater. The staff is helpful and seem to really love animals. They have a good, nicely kept interior where there is lots of space for the pets to run around. They even have cat condos! Zoe came back happy and tired from all of her activity. It was also good because it wasn’t overcrowded with unruly dogs. The pets all looked well-​behaved. If I was a dog, I would want to stay here. It is luxurious for pet accommodations, but very affordable!

If you’re spending the day, weekend or an extended stay at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, don’t forget about your pets! They board dogs and cats and even provide play activities and spa services for them. My family and I frequently go to Nemacolin’s spa and always bring my yellow lab here to spend the day. He is always so excited when we walk in the door and that says it all! They take direction well and will absolutely take care of your pup. I haven’t used them for cat boarding yet, but I plan to in the near future for my wedding!

With a 2 story air balloon mascot named Bentley sitting outside the resort & spa, it’s hard to miss while driving down National Pike Rd.
Having just opened in May 2009, it’s a smacking brand new space, so it’s very clean, with polished hardwood flooring throughout, and the staff are very friendly (except when you are running late to pick up your pet, EVEN THOUGH you have informed them several times you may be 15 – 20 minutes late)…
The daycare hours are 8am-​6pm daily, and if an additional hour is required, it’s at an additional cost. Makes sense! However, please note: they are not pleased if they have to stay later than 7:00pm. I do not mind shelling out for their additional services, but, although they WILL wait, they are very strict about locking up at 7:00pm…and their friendliness sizzles down a notch or two…
My puppy was very comfortable with all the staff there, and seemed a happy camper when I went to pick her up! Also, I was touched that they hand crafted a hot pink name tag for her, took a photo of her, and framed it as a souvenir! Aaawww… sweetness!!! Nice added touch for going the extra mile!
I love this place! If this was close to where I live, I would bring my dog here every weekend! It’s very hard to take my dog elsewhere after such great service and cleanliness! My only advice: I wish they would be willing to extend their hours if needed! Like I said, I don’t mind paying for the extra hours!
