Head out Fort Gordon’s gate one approx. 6.4 miles for a quick, reasonably priced and delicious meal. The salads contain the freshest ingredients, burgers juicy and chicken moist. The staff is always cordial and the atmosphere never without warmth. February 12th marks their 3rd anniversary. Congratulation’s on a job well done!

We ordered a BBQ sandwich lunch special and the ribs lunch special. The ribs were great and fall off the bone. They had a few charred ends BT it was manageable. The BBQ sandwich was ok. I LOVE carolina BBQ but this was a little dry and had weird after taste. It wasn’t the best BBQ I’ve had but it wasn’t the worst. If you stop here order the ribs, baked beans and a fresh order of fries!

I always enjoy arriving here for a quick snack. Order and ready in less than 5 minutes. Always cheerful and my crews love the pulled pork. Happy to packed up and take out. Enjoy the Food but I eat at home and it was great. Enjoyed the flavor of the bbq. Will be back soon.

Fantastic fast Eastern Carolina BBQ! If you love the vinegar based BBQ, this is a great place to get it. I ordered the small plate. The pulled pork was seasoned perfectly and the plate was just the right size. It comes with hush puppies, which were really good. I also had baked beans and slaw as sides. The beans weren’t as tender as I would have liked. But I left full and happy.

Chicken was bland bbq tasted like straight vinegar and service was mediocre. I don’t recommend to anyone like at all. Worst hush puppies I’ve every had. This has to be THEWORSTBBQ in Fayetteville. DONTGOOOOO!

If you like Carolina style barbecue then you may like it, but I’m neither a fan of this place nor Carolina BBQ. I wasn’t impressed with their non barbecue items either. I tried their chicken once… meh. I could get better chicken at a buffet than what I had there.

The worst BBQ restaurant I’ve ever been to. The BBQ isn’t smoked(which isn’t really BBQ) and it tastes like salt and watered down vinegar. The potato salad and cole slaw were obviously store bought and tasted bland. The hush puppies were dry and had no flavor, and the sweet tea tasted burnt. Avoid this place at all costs. If you want good BBQ in fayetteville, then go to fatbacks.

Love, love, love this place. If I didn’t have a fear of getting fat or having high cholesterol I’d eat here every day. I only eat here now when I come to Fayetteville. The barbecue is cooked at the Owen Drive location, but it’s fresh. The vinegar based sauce is amazing. The sandwich is great with slaw and hot sauce. The hush puppies are house made. Everything is homemade with the exception of the fries. The sweet tea is like instant diabetes but so worth it!!! The deserts are good as well, especially the banana pudding :) if you haven’t been, you must go! The atmosphere is that of exactly what the name says, a hut. A quaint dining area and a drive thru.

We eat here often, maybe too often. Potato salad, fried chicken and coleslaw are great. Prices are good and the staff is quick and friendly.

Read a few reviews of this place and was EXCITED to eat here. Place was moderately clean, it’s a fast food kinda place where you can sit down or drive thru. The staff were all very nice and happy to help as we all had a few questions about the menu. A decent selection of food from chicken, pulled pork and sides. The fried chicken was good. The«Bar B Q» pulled pork however was the complete opposite. To call this Bar B Q is like calling diarrhea mouth wash. The pork had no flavor, had the consistency of pulled pork and visibly looked good. However once it touched my lips the taste of disappointment ran through my taste buds. When I asked for a sauce of any kind I was given«sweet baby rays» bar-b-q sauce in little take out packets. This was my first Carolina Bar B Q but everyone else I’ve had Bar B Q had their own house made sauce, if not 5 of them. I would never allow anyone, even Alan Burr, to eat this without warning them. Now I did say the selection of sides was decent, however if you want to eat them is another conundrum. The baked beans, poured out of what taste to be a can were horrible. The french fries were those made from the mother who never really loved her son and would serve these to him to quite his hunger. The potato salad was a mush of «stuff». The one worthy thing were the hush puppies, those are quite hard to mess up in my defense if you’ve ever made them. If asked, I would inform others to not partake in the misadventures of Bar-B-Q here at the Bar-B-Que Hut.

We had two large combos with NC style BBQ, and fried chicken. For the sides we had the hushpuppies, beans, potato salad, and fries. The chop BBQ was excellent! I love the vinegar based NCBBQ so this was awesome to find without driving too far. The fried chicken was a little greasy, but super delicious! The sides were all yummy, and the sweet tea was excellent. I can’t wait to go back. The staff was really friendly.

Came here because other Unilocalers rated it highly. The best part of the«HUT» is the incredible value. If you have a hunger pang bigger than your wallet, the BH will fix it. Ordered a BBQ platter, fried chicken platter, a Pork Chop, and two large Sweet Teas for $ 16 and change. Chicken was excellent, BBQ sandwich was meh, Pork Chop was… well(see picture) HUGEEEEE about the size of a 5×8 Large Index Card!!. Fries were the Sysco bulk order type, hush puppies were decent, coleslaw standard. Probably won’t seek this place out again but I will recognize that it is a good place to eat for many people.

If you visit THEBBQHUTS website it states«Congratulations! You Just Found The Best Barbeque in Fayetteville!!» In bold red letters. If that’s true I genuinely feel sorry the the residents of this town or even more so for the proud Men & Women whom serve our Country who have to endure this as their first taste of NCQ. Went for the first(and last) time last evening and I hit the drive thru and ordered a smörgåsbord of samplings from the menu as I enjoy seeking out the business’s that have been open for many generations. I have no clue how this place made it nearly 50 years this far. The Q was tasteless, dry and reminiscent of sawdust. The baked beans appeared and tasted to be simply be baked pork and beans. The fried chicken as ok but nothing special and was a little on the small side. The food did come quick but we found out why, it had been sitting for a good while, the hush puppies were tough. The only saving grace was the southern yellow potato salad but the sting of having to pay 43¢ for 2 foam plates and plastic silverwear to actually be able to consume the $ 22 in grub I had just purchased out weighted that by leaps and bounds. I won’t visit this restaurant(or its sister location) again. I do bid Military Transplants, and other to please refrain from judging NCQ biased on this place. Take a short road trip to Wilson NC and check out 1 of the 2NC Icons in town.

I have been eating at Bar-B-Que Hut basically my entire life. I am in love with their potato salad and I haven’t found any like it in town. The staff isn’t the friendliest, but hey who cares — the food is still great. When you eat here, you have to remember that we eat vinegar BBQ in this part of NC, so don’t expect to get BBQ with a «sauce» from very many local BBQ places. The fried chicken is pretty good and I like the hush puppies. I don’t eat slaw but my dad loves Bat-B-Que Hut’s slaw.

It was ok. Great prices & a very local feel. BUT, I think this place is over rated. We had fried chicken and it was good but definitely not the best in fayettenam. The French fries were very good crinkle cut style and perfectly cooked, but both the hush puppies and chicken tasted like they were sitting around for a while. The potato salad was gross– way too much mustard and pickle relish and hardly any chunks of potato. Nothing else was in there, no chunks of egg, celery or onion– devoid of the good vittles! Anyway, it’s a good enough cheap meal, but I honestly think Church’s, Popeyes and Bojangles has better fried chicken– plus they have dipping sauces.

My mom and I heard about this place while shopping in town. We stopped at the drive-thru on our way home. We got pull pork sandwiches with slaw. They were good and vinegary. I will stop by again and try a platter.

I find the fried chicken a hell of a lot better then the bbq. Just saying. But then again NC bbq sauce is different from where I come from. I’m used to a tomato based bbq sauce, not vinegar. You order at the window and seat yourself. Not the cleaniest place in the world, just don’t watch them prepare your food. If I came back, if would be for some fried chicken.

Service with a grimace. I read the reviews on this place, and after a crushing defeat for my husband’s rugby team, we decided we were up for bbq. It was… passable? This place is a dive… That doesn’t eliminate anything for us, that’s what most bbq joints look like. The staff was… not friendly, helpful, or even really polite. I was pretty surprised to find that kind of attitude in the south. On to the food. The bbq was just adequate. The hush puppies were good, potato salad decent, and cole slaw alright. My husband had baked beans and fries as a side– beans were from a can and fries from a frozen bag. Disappointing. The bbq itself was… greasy and sweet. Meh. There was also no sauce. NONE!!! None was offered either. I was afraid to ask after how rude the front folks were. There are far better places out there folks. Find them and enjoy some good bbq.
