Yesterday, I waited for my husband in the car during his appointment here. (i had my dog with me and it was too hot to leave him alone in the car).
When my husband returned after getting 3 fillings, he told me as he was in the chair waiting for the Dentist, he noticed the «music» that was playing was a slew of «N» words and «F» bombs. My husband told the Dentist he didn’t feel that «music» was appropriate and the Dentist just kind of blew him off and said there are all kinds of music in the world.
Although my husband is an adult, I don’t imagine the parent of a child would appreciate this «Music» playing while their child was in the chair.

They were super quick and friendly. I also appreciate how they didn’t treat me like scum for having dshs insurance. It’s definitely a relief to finally find a good dentust.

Avoid this place at all cost. After there work was done I went to another place to see how the work was done and they couldn’t believe how bad it was. I only went to another place to get it rechecked because it was still feelings painful and they even chipped a teeth which they told me about but didn’t bother to fix it! The service was total crap from all employees especially the main dentist. I’m a small business owner and I have never been treated like this before. I came here reading other people’s review but they are total crap! Do not go! I’m warning you again! Do not go there! It’s better to pay a higher price and get the job done right. Not make it worse.
Also please read some of the not recommend review! The negatives ones are extremely true and I also had first hand experience

my name is mr s. jones i had a dentist appointment on 4 – 2 15 at the art of the smiles in federal way. i had a great experience on that day. the main reason for the great experience was the dental assistant (cecila) she made me feel at ease and comfortable the whole time i was there. you need employees like cecila working for your company. i was thinking of going to another dentist, but cecila talked me thru the the visit and made me change my mind. as long as you have employees like cecila, i will continue to be a patient. thank you.

wish I could give negative stars! I took my teen here based off reviews and the initial appointment with x-​rays seemed fine. Then, during the actual work, there were huge issues. First the dentist forgot about her for 40min after numbing the area for shots and taking multiple people ahead of her. During the drilling she told them it hurt, but then they continued to work. When she came out finally after over an hour and a half she complained her mouth was sore and her lip looked swollen and raw on one side. The dentist had drilled her lip! By the next morning almost half of her lip is crusted over and the skin below her lip! It’s hurting and understandably she’s very upset. I will NEVER take her here EVER again or recommend this place to anyone. Worst dentist EVER!
Update: The day after the dentist messed up her lip it was blistering so we made an emergency trip to the Doctor. Come to find out she got impetigo from the dentist. The doctor said the only way an infection could have developed this fast was through the use of unclean contaminated tools basically scratching into her skin. I hope that no other person has to go through this. After calling the dentist they took no responsibility and claimed it must have been a coincidence that a contagious infection developed on her raw lip less than 12 hours after her appointment.
Seriously, DO NOT use this dentist!

This is the best dentist. She is very nice. The staff are so welcoming and remember you by name each time. They make sure your comfortable so there is no pain. This dentist is way more then a 5

I checked with their office to find out if they took the insurance that I had, and they did. On the first initial visit I was surprised at the services. Very caring environment. The office was clean, and it was comfortable, and very pleasant people working together as a team. My first initial visit was a complete surprise; filled out all of the forms, then was lead back to a chair. Got xrays, and had my teeth cleaned. The dental assistant polished my teeth and Dr. Huang herself did the scraping after the polish. She explained what I needed to complete and asked me for my input on my treatment plan, and we discussed my treatment plan. Yesterday I went in because I have to have two teeth extracted, and we opted to take one of the teeth out yesterday, and another one at a later date. (two different sides of my mouth, making chewing on the other side instead of no sides). The extraction procedure was explained in detail by one of her dental assistants, before the surgery. Dr. Huang, explained the procedure again before she started getting me numb, etc., and it was a «walk in the park» getting the tooth out. She was gentle, and I didn’t even know it was out, (she had to tell me it was out). After it was out, one of the dental assistants talked me about the care after having a tooth pulled, and we had a good discussion about the care I needed to do from my end, and what to do if there were problems stemming from the extraction. She prescribed pain medication which I got from the pharmacy, but never used. After my extraction, we discussed again, which part of the treatment plan we (NOT SHE, but WE) wanted to do next. I opted for getting the fillings done that are causing me not to smile as often as I used to, and postponed the other extraction to after the fillings were done.
She is a very knowledgeable dentist, and I would recommend this office to anyone seeking a dental professional that truly cares about their quality of care. As far as the comment made by a poster on March 14, 2014; this is just one person’s experience, and I read this comment BEFORE I went to Dr. Huang’s office, but I went with an open mind, and I was more than just impressed. It is kind of like going to a restaurant, where someone tells you not to go there because the «food is bad or the service is lousy,» until you experience it for yourself and you make the judgement call on whether or not to return. I’ve learned with service based companies, that there are people in life that no matter what you do for them, it is not enough.

This place is fantastic… Great staff, front desk receptionist was very knowledgable and helpful & friendly. Dr. Huang was great, answered all my questions and had some great recommendations. Excellent service, excellent communication. I would defiantly recommend…

My initial consult was quick and easy. Was kinda uncomfortable because I had to see the office staff argue with an ex patient. They have strict policies on canceling at least 24 hours in advance and aren’t afraid to drop you as a patient if you’re always late or miss your appts. I respect that because it’s a courtesy to let someone know if you’re not going to be some where you planned for. (The ex patient got dropped for missing appts and came in to argue about it. So it wasn’t the staff’s fault and they did bring me to the back area quickly so I didn’t have to endure the awkwardness for very long.)
My second appt I had several fillings and a molar extracted. It’s weird because you can hear the patient next to you and I’m sure the awful drill and tooth cracking sounds coming from my procedures were terrifying to anyone nearby me. (No privacy but it is a small office so there’s nothing that can be done. The office is arranged nicely so it looks good and they utilized their space well.)
The Doctor does know what she’s doing and she never pressured me into any thing that I didn’t want to do. She explained everything before we started so I had an idea what to expect.
It is a newer office so I think all the staff are still figuring little details out. Also I feel the Doctor is over booking herself and the reason the bed side manners are lacking just a little is because she needs to get everyone in and out in a timely manner. She does accept DSHS insurance, which is hard to find because most dentists will only accept children and not adults, and I think that’s why she’s getting overbooked. There’s just not enough Dentists willing to accept state insurance. So as a DSHS patient I really appreciate a nice and clean private practice dentist to accept my insurance. Even though I’m on the state insurance the staff and Doctor still make me feel like a valued customer and not just a burden.
All around this is a great dentist for adults or children. Clean, organized, friendly and gentle!

Dr. Huang has done a great job cleaning up my teeth and getting them to feel 10x better already. :)
