When things started out with a minor hiccup, FWCJ came through with FABULOUS care to please this customer! I have a custom wedding set that is amazing & brings many complements from strangers — all because LaDonna helped me and my husband create a memorable wedding set! I’ve been back since my initial purchases, and will continue coming back. If you value great service and quality jewelry, you should stop in and see if I am leading you to a fabulous store!

I was very apprehensive about this entire process being that I am unknowledgeable about design, what I wanted and it being such and expensive endeavor. I had shopped several other jewelry stores and finally decided that FWJ would suit my needs perfectly and they did. Sean helped me start to finish, paid me fairly for some gold I traded in to be used in my new ring, designed a comfortable gorgeous show stopper and I am just ticked and the kicker is –it was less money and more ring than I was expecting! WIN!
Everyone who helped me with other repairs etc. were all very friendly and everything I had done was done beautifully. Sean is a problem solver and can help you, he fixed a decades old tennis bracelet problem that was driving me crazy! One look, one week repair and violia!

Nearly three years ago, my husband and I were talking about the «M» word. With wedding bells in my future, I went looking for the perfect setting. It didn’t take long to figure out that most jewelry stores carry slight variations of the same recycled styles… BUT I wanted an engagement setting that would set me apart from the masses. After going to the other countless jewelers one afternoon, my Mother and I stumbled upon Federal Way Custom Jewelers.
Immediately, Sean saw the plight in my eyes; without missing a beat he came to our rescue. Let me tell you a about customer service! Both my Mother and I felt so relieved, Sean listened with patience and educated us. He even listened while I talked myself in and out of different custom & vintage settings. After a while and with significant help from Sean I found «The One.» I took a few photos of the setting & Sean wrote down all of the details for me to pass onto my man.
My husband went to FWCJ and had a very positive experience as well. Especially considering how budget conscious he was. Fast forward several months.
My husband got the RING of my DREAMS with a stunning (& surprisingly large) diamond to boot.

Called in a few days to ask a question about a watch; spoke to Brandon who was very friendly. Told me I can come in and show the watch in person without an appointment to have some of my questions answered. Stopped by 30 minute later and was greeted with a smile. He was assisting a different customer so said should be a few minutes.
Met with him and he answered all the questions I had about a watch I purchased overseas and then some. He recommend a location that specializes in the type of watch I had to get complete history and details regarding the watch.
Overall was a great experience. Will definitely be back for any future jewelry purchases or custom work that needs to be done.

I had my grandmothers ruby ring put into a custom setting and I had the best experience with this family jeweler. I worked with Sean and he took the time to explain the options, go over what he thought would work best and why and worked with me step by step and the result is an amazing ring I can wear the rest of my life and pass down and keep in the family. Excellent customer service, genuine interest in jewelry and passion for what they do, you can tell this family business really appreciates their customers and they all take pride in their work. Prices are also really reasonable, and I loved that I could trade in my old scrap gold sitting in my jewelry box and apply to the purchase price of my custom ring. Absolutely great experience and I will continue to return to them for future jewelry purchases and needs. Highly recommend.

I love the marquise diamond i bought from Brandon at Federal Way. It is so pretty and cut really nice. I looked at a lot of diamonds and marquise are not that pretty, but this was a very nice one, and a great price i thought. They are super nice and HONEST. Im not always comfortable in jewelry stores, but i felt right at home!

This was the first place we took my Grandmother’s wedding and engagement ring to have the diamonds reset in a custom engagement ring for myself.
The first time we visited I was planning on trying on some different settings so Sean and I could get a feel for my style and taste. Sean had me try on three settings (only) and then seemed to have it figured out. He didn’t take any notes during our interaction, which made me nervous.
After a few days, Sean emailed me the first design. Through many emails back and forth, it was becoming apparent that Sean and I were getting our signals crossed. I would email some feedback about a specific design and he’d email back a revised design and wouldn’t have paid attention to my desires at all.
So, we decided to sit face-​to-​face a second time. This time, my fiancé and I both felt Sean was a bit snippy with us, including a comment about how much time each revision takes. At that point I thought, «If you would take more time and listen to my feedback, we wouldn’t be doing so many revisions.»
After chatting for no more than 20 minutes, the owners of the shop started rushing Sean, my fiancé, and myself. They even said, «We have other customers waiting to sit here.» We’re customers, too.
During the second visit, Sean drew an idea on our paperwork and I said I didn’t like it. He didn’t cross out the drawing and subsequently incorporated it into the next design he emailed me. As it was the only note-​taking he’d done it was all he had to go off of and I guess he forgot that I’d nixed the idea. I felt like I was constantly reminding him, «No, I said I DON’T like that.»
In the end, I had such a bad taste in my mouth that we went with a different jeweler. Federal Way Custom jewelers didn’t go out of their way to make the experience special at all, which was a real shame as I was using my beloved, deceased Grandmother’s diamonds. They lost out on our business because of their brusk attitudes and lack of attention to detail.
I give them two stars because Sean did work very hard and emailed many different revised designs. He just needs to work on listening and taking better care of his customers. The owners/​managers of the shop need to allow Sean to work with customers and not rush them.

I came in to see if they could save some of my silver pieces and they made them look like new. Staff were super friendly welcoming and informative of jewelry.

I went here with a custom design before Christmas and they were able to complete the design in time to give it as a gift. The owner is very personable and LaDonna is awesome. Will be coming back here in the future for sure

I went in to see if they would buy an antique silver item. Unfortunately my item is not what they buy but the salesman was helpful in explaining the metal testing process to me and letting me know my options. Quirky shop but nice ppl!

Brandon worked diligently to find my fiancé and I the perfect diamond for us. The best part was he hunted down multiple options, tracking unique diamonds across the states! He sat down with us to make sure we understood the basics about diamonds and gave the best tips/​advice. This company is all about the gems, finding exactly what fits your wants/​needs, & getting more bang for your buck. They are so passionate about what they do and are most concerned with their clients leaving happy and satisfied.
Sean custom made our DREAM wedding ring after Brandon found our diamond. There are not words to describe how beautiful and unique it is. I told him what we wanted and after the second draft we were set. The ring is beautiful and flawless. I still can’t believe it’s real!
Rene, Brandon, and Sean were so excited to work with us and it made us even more excited. They even took the time to show us their favorite gems in the store making it an entirely fun experience.

Words can’t express how happy we are with our engagement ring experience at family-​owned Federal Way Custom Jewelers.
After months of looking around at various jewelers we decided we wanted to do a custom ring, but we didn’t really have any knowledge of gemstones or jewelry. We met with Brandon, who gave us a great education on gemstones, beyond the typical 4C’s spiel that we got everywhere else. Brandon really worked hard to find us a center stone that was not only what we wanted, but also the best value for our dollar.
We then met with Sean. How he translated our hodgepodge of ideas for our ring to a final product, is nothing short of impressive. We came in with a bunch of ideas and no idea of how to explain them. He worked with us daily on every single aspect of the ring until it was everything we had envisioned. Truly an artist.
I highly recommend Federal Way Custom Jewelers. Their prices are competitive if not better than the ‘chain’ stores and there is no ‘chain’ store that even came close in terms of the excellent customer service we received. Not to mention, that our ring is one-​of-​a-​kind, rather than the same as everyone else who ordered a ring from a chain or website.

I’ve purchased a few pieces from these guys, they always take really good care of me. Service and selection are top notch. They really go the extra mile.

Phenomenal Jeweler! My fiancé and I came here because they specialize in colored gems. They did an exceptional job educating us and helping us select the most spectacular stone and setting. When I got my ring I was completely blown away! Their prices are very good and you can tell they have a passion for not only customer service but also for gems. Worth a trip and a look if you are thinking about getting something for yourself or someone special.

I’ve been in here a few time of miscellaneous things and they’re always amazing and provide great service. I was in today and had my watch battery replaced and a few links taken out. While the gentleman took care of my watch, the lady showed me around and gave me a quick lesson on how they make custom pieces. Once my watch was done, I asked what I owed and he said it was on the house. If you have any jewelry needs, stop in, they’ll take good care of you!

With my 25^th wedding anniversary coming up, I wanted to find a special piece of jewelry for my wife. I called FW Custom Jewelers and made an appointment to visit with Rene.
I was shown various pieces and ultimately decided on designing a custom ring with the help of FWCJ. The ring has 100 diamonds (60 white /​40 champagne) and turned out amazing. They even had it professionally appraised for me before pickup.
I also mentioned that it was my wife’s’ 50^th birthday and was thinking about diamond earrings but needed to stay on budget. They showed me some loose diamonds that were graded and worked with me on the settings/​backs at the price I was hoping to spend. The earrings and ring have appraised over ¼ of what I paid and my wife could not be happier with the design and quality.

I can not rave enough about this jewelry store. I feel like calling it a store is an insult. The Criss’ are amazingly knowledgeable and always open and eager to answer questions. Their custom pieces are unique and expertly crafted. On my recent visit I brought in my wedding set that had lost a prong and stone and my husband gold rosary. Both were restored to better than new condition. I held my composure until I got to my car and wept at my rings beauty. Reminded of the day I got married. Thank you for enriching beautiful memories and you will always be our go to for all our jewelry needs. Absolutely in awe.

Service was amazing. I got my ring downsized a couple weeks post engagement. This is all new to me, and I was a little worried when I found out I had to leave my new diamond ring for 4 days. But they took care of it. In fact, I think it looked even better than when I first saw it. Super sparkly!
They are really informative during the process, showed me my diamond under magnification (which was really awesome!), and told me exactly what happens to the ring during the sizing. It made me feel a lot better. They said I can come back in whenever I would like to to get it cleaned, and even let me turn in some of my old rings that I would have never worn again to pay for the sizing.

I have been a customer here for several years and I am more than pleased with the service and expertise of the owner and employees. Rene took more time explaining the process and ensuring I got what I wanted than anyplace else I had been before. His knowledge was way over my head but it was still very helpful and actually interesting.
The entire staff is always friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere is always welcoming whether I’m making a purchase or just looking unlike some of the chain stores I’ve been in. I also find them to be very trustworthy, honest and reliable.
I have since referred several of my friends to go here who wanted their own designs and to use their own stones and they too were very satisfied and are also repeat customers.
