I’m a local who used to go here often… Even up to a year ago… What the living hell happened to this place? Wednesday night… Only one in the restaurant… Bolignoise taste like reheated frozen… Dry, old, store bought angel hair pasta, and $ 3.50 extra for a store bought sausage. My wife got the Gino Pizza which she used to love… Came on a plate… And soggy… Bitter infighting with chef and cleaning guy… Cleaning guy sulking around banging things… New waitress who did well with the situation… Appreciated her… But, be a good restaurant, or close… Don’t put customers through this kind of BS and charge those kind of prices for bad food…

This was our second visit here and the food was great both times. Our server Karla Kelly was great and we had her both times. Last time we got the almond Roca cannoli per suggestion of our server. She was right it was amazing. I am not a huge cannoli eater but it was amazing. Definitely would and will come again.

We went in wanting to love this place. We have lived in the neighborhood for years and have never stopped in. We came in for a dinner without the kids and sadly were very disappointed. We got the surf and turf special for $ 31.99 each and our lobster was burnt. Not just a little bit it was black and inedible. Needless to say we won’t be returning.

Have enjoyed their pizza’s for years. Took my all friends there and spread the word about being the best thin crust pizza in town. But been there many times lately for pizza and dinner and they were a real disappointment. Nothing like they used to be. Maybe they have new staff or changed their management. I miss their quality and now its really no better than better than average pizza places. I hope they get back to where they started because I don’t like where they are going.

If your sign says you close at 10, your kitchen should CLOSE at 10. When I walk in at 9:40 to get a pizza TOGO, you should be able to accommodate. I work in a restaurant and this is bad business. I wasn’t trying to come in and camp out for a 3 course dinner, I just wanted a couple of apps and a pizza to go. Get it together.

Dining here is like travelling to the«old country» with authentically prepared and seasoned meals, freshly baked bread that is Italian. Our main attraction, aside from the typical entress, is the pizza assortment. This is one place where you can truly enjoy a pizza without fork and knife, like in Brooklyn, Boston, and, of course Napoli. A full service bar and a choice of seating arrangements as «fine dining» or really casual in another little cabaret like room. The service is above reproach and you are at once, guest and friend. We come here, not as often as we would like due to distance but each time, it is with eager anticipation. A really romantic ambience awaits and beckons soon through the door. This is, in our opinion THETOPS for fantasizing a journey to Calabria.

I used to frequent Gino’s a few years ago and it was always amazing food and good service. Unfortunately this place has gone downhill. We ordered chicken alfredo and the chicken was clearly frozen. It was very chewy. This was the first time they served it with penne pasta which wasn’t bad but I prefer it with the noodles. The sauce wasn’t bad… but for what they charge– you would expect the food to be much better. The salad was okay. I’m not sure what happened to this place. I wish their food was as good as it was before. If you DO go, I’d probably stick with their pizza. I didn’t order it this time around but it looked good when I was picking up my food. Not sure if I will be returning to Gino’s.

It’s hard to see, just because it’s hidden behind a gas station. My husband and I finally went in after living nearby for years. We were hoping to find a regular spot, but Gino’s was unfortunately disappointing. I ordered something with prawns only to discover that they were clearly frozen and for over $ 20, I would expect something a little more… fresh. My husband had a spicy pasta dish that was less than impressive. Food wasn’t on time, the waiter was constantly checking on us and I didn’t feel that we were left alone for more than five to ten minutes. People who arrived after us got their meals before we did, which always ticks me off. I am an adamant supporter of local businesses but next time we want a nice meal, we’ll be heading up the hill to Pimienta. Also behind a gas station but much better quality food and the service is unmatched.

Not a fan. Expensive. Nothing unique. Out of the way, and dark inside. I had one of those experiences where I would have liked to not have tipped at all however I feel to guilty like«I» am the cheap a$$ if I don’t. Our server was rude, frank, and just generally not pleasant. The food seemed overly commercialized and perfect for the old golfing community that surrounds this place. With a metro area that has many Italian restaurants to choose from, I am rather confident this one is still ticking on the fact the food is upscale and clean. Other than that, I would not say there is any draw I would like to revisit for. Three stars for still being in business, two stars if my food was horrible and one star if I have to call the health department.

Overpriced. Food was good not great. Waitor was nice but had to ask him for butter 3 times. To accompany the $ 30 per plate prices and fancier décor they played out of place music such as Hakuna Matata from Lion King and other songs I can’t remember but definitely messed up the mood. We ordered the Campanelle and blue cheese walnut ravioli which again were both good but not great. Campanelle was $ 30 and had baby shrimp cocktail sized shrimp in it. Felt like a cheaply made dish.

This used to be a great place and it still could be if Gino decided to take advantage of his location. Hire a bartender the believes in taking care of the client, expand seating capacity for bar patrons, enhance the speed and quality of the servers and things will improve. I give it three stars because it really does have good food but the service here has always been slow and unprofessional. I’ve been here many times and my son used to work here and that is the only time that I have been treated as if they care I come back. So you ask, why am I here now. Well, they make a great pizza and I am on my way home so wanted to enjoy a pizza at home once I get there.

This is a surprisingly tarty little restaurant in a run-down stripmall. You’ll expect a standard pizza-parlor and get a classy joint with white table cloths and napkins and candles with a decent martini list. I ambled in alone at 5pm on a Saturday and it was not surprisingly empty. The nice waitress sat me by a window and handed me their short menu. They didn’t offer 35 different styles of pizza, more like 10. And only five types of pasta — again like a real restaurant rather than a pizza joint. I ordered the capriocossa(spelling?) pizza for $ 15 and a beer. They brought me tasty bread and olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip in. Even though I think most balsamico is an abomination, this wasn’t bad at all. The pizza was really good. The crust was crunchy, and the artichoke hearts and vegetables were excellent. The pesto sauce was not overbearing. Best pizza I’ve had on the West Coast. I ate about half the pizza and boxed the rest up for later. Very good value. You could easily feed two plus beer for $ 40 while feeling like you’re eating in a grown up restaurant. Now I need a nap.

Gino’s is definitely one of the better restaurants in Federal Way, serving solid Italian fare at a reasonable price. They have changed their menu a bit over the years, but there are still some good options to choose from. I usually come for lunch, and one of my favorites on their current lunch menu is the salmon salad. The kobe beef burger is also big, juicy, and flavorful, but can make for a heavy lunch. The pear ravioli has great flavors, but doesn’t come with many raviolis, so you could be left wanting more food afterwards. What I like best about Gino’s, however, are their pizzas. The crust is the perfect thickness for me, with the right combination of texture in a crunchy exterior and a soft interior. The toppings and cheese are generously given and quite tasty. I’ve tried maybe 5 or 6 different pizzas here, and to be honest, there wasn’t a kind I didn’t like — so if any topping combination sounds good, it’ll probably be excellent. The service has always been quick and friendly, and the prices are fair for what you get. It’s tucked away next to a gas station, so it can be harder to find. But once you find it, you won’t regret eating there.

So far, our experience with Gino’s was take out. We ordered from the family meal menu and got the Chicken Parmesan for 4. It is served with a family sized Caesar salad and dang near a loaf of bread. My first impression was with the way that they package the food. Everything goes into one paper bag. First the box of hot food followed by the box of cold salad and then the bread is just thrown in on top. We literally live across the street so thankfully, our salad wasn’t piping hot by the time we got it home but it was pretty warmed up from the bottom. First you have to dig the bread out and find some place to put it while you unpack the other two boxes that are now covered in bread crumbs. The salad that was suppose to be for 4 was barely enough and they provided 4 tiny half filled soufflé cups and it honestly wasn’t enough. The chicken parm was packed pasta and chicken all in one box and that made it hard to build your plate because the 4 pieces of chicken were laid out on top of the pasta so you have to either put the chicken on the bottom on your plate or move the chicken someplace while you serve the pasta. The chicken was a bit tough too. I don’t know if a dining in the restaurant experience would be much better but I don’t think we will be ordering take out from Gino’s anytime soon. I don’t really feel like we got our monies worth with this meal and our expectations for this little family owned Italian bistro were sorely unmet. I don’t know if they make their own pasta fresh or not so I can’t speak to that but it was good. They do offer a Kobe burger that I want to try one of these days so I’ll add to my review once I know how that is. Thanks for reading.

The restaurant is surprisingly nicer on the inside than the outside. Kinda fancier venue. Food was good, I always like the fresh ground pepper or cheese option. It’s in a very residential location which is convenient, we walked here. And ran into friends while there!

Friendly staff and good food. I heard the pizza here was really good, but we customized ours and it was okay, must’ve not been a good combination. The fried calamari was good. The paella was not what I expected, and nothing like the other paellas I have tried; it was more soupy. It wasn’t bad at all, just not the greatest.

Wait for it… FAIL… As I stand here waiting for my to go order I can’t help to think that this place has gone downhill. I gave this a great rating back a while ago but that is out the window now. For 2 weeks straight I have called in my order to go, gave them an additional 10 minutes to have it ready and then show up. BOTH times the food has not been ready and I have been left sitting in the bar waiting for a minimum of 20 minutes to get my food for a total of 50+ minutes in all. I wouldn’t mind terribly or give such a bad review if the food was still good but it has not been good at all, downright bad in my opinion. No flavor, undercooked and not the freshest ingredients. My fiancé and I won’t be back here until this place is fixed back to the way it was a year or two ago.

Pleasantly surprised by the delicious food & great service. We’ve passed by this place many times but didn’t think much of its exterior. I’m so glad we gave it a try, because we’ll definitely be back. The bread was hearty yet moist, the clams were heavenly, and the fritto misto(though small) was well-seasoned and cooked perfectly. My margarita cocktail was excellent. My main dish(the Niciola?) was wonderful – my husband ate more of it than his own dish. This is the kind of food that makes you close your eyes and smile after each bite. We left very satisfied.
