Their staff was polite and courteous. Place was relatively clean considering the number of customers going in and out of the restaurant. Food was good. Theyre portions is just slightly smaller than the other l&l ive been to. Only bad thing was wait time, it took a lot longer than i expected.

In love with their garlic bahi and bbq combo. Service is okay. Just wished that we don’t have to eat in togo boxes and plastic utensils.

Great place to come great place to enjoy good food but when you get three quarter size shrimp for four dollars they have to fix that

Never had Hawaiian BBQ, but after trying L&L I like it. Great food and fun people. Not much seating more of a grab and go, but great spot for lunch

Glad they have these up here. I missed them from living in Colorado. I went with my staple. The BBQ plate is delicious and on par with other L&L you know the consistency will be great and its made with Hawaiian love. The wait was a little long at this location but its not fast food.

If it were a bit cleaner, it would have been a full 5 stars. They were fast, friendly, and always moving. We had the BBQ chicken. There was so MUCH chicken!!! This was a great meal to share. What magic do they perform back there to give it so much flavor? It was also plastic knife tender. The sticky rice was fabulously sticky. You could dip it in the sauce and it held together. We are absolutely coming back!

Oh man, how I miss Hawaiian food. The place my boyfriend and I use to go to in Tacoma was either open at weird times or closed. I am a huge fan of people opening up and closing at the times posted on their doors. What’s nice about L&L is that it’s a chain, so you know they have to abide by their business hours. The cashier(s) are super nice, the place looks clean, has plenty of seating and a huge menu full of deliciousness. My first time here, my friend and I dined in. He ordered the loco moco(regular size), gravy fries and a spam musubi. I ordered the Kailua pork, regular size too and a soda. My friend’s loco moco is how it should look: silky brown gravy, two hamburger patties, two eggs(made to order), and lots of rice. I went to my tried and true spot for Hawaiian in the U-District a few months back and their food completely changed after they had moved from 50th to 45th. I can’t remember what I had ordered, but I remember ordering the loco moco, and a spam musubi. My boyfriend picked at his loco moco I had bought for him there. It had this weird congealed light brown gravy, the patties, eggs and rice were ok. If the gravy isn’t right, it throws off the entire meal. The whole point of the loco moco is the gravy. He was pretty much scarred by that experience, so he was not sure if the L&L would be a trustworthy place. When I told him that my friend had ordered the loco moco and that it looked like it should, he thought it was worth the risk. He gobbled his whole meal! I couldn’t believe it! He even dumped his mac salad(which came in a separate container which I thought was nice) to get all the gravy out of his container. He was a very happy boy! I was very happy with my Kailua pork as well. My boyfriend said it smelled like my Kailua pork that I make in my crock pot. Granted, I’m not Hawaiian, but apparently I can make Kailua pork like a Hawaiian restaurant, I’ll take it! Our spam musubi was perfection! The sauce was not too salty, the thickness of the spam was perfect with the rice and the seaweed wasn’t all rubbery(you know, when you’re yanking on the seaweed with your teeth because it got too soggy around the rice). Everything is made to order, or it seems that way. So be patient when waiting for your food or call ahead for pick up orders. They have specials, so pay attention to that as well. What’s great was my visit yesterday, when I ordered the Kailua pork, the meal came with either a fountain drink or a Hawaiian Sun. When I called to place my order Britney told me about it which was awesome. Needless to say, I am definitely coming back and this time I’m going to dine in with my boyfriend.

Stopped in here after a fastpitch tournament as I needed to refuel and so did the family. We were all needing some musubi as we saw some of other ohana from the team pick some up and now needed to do the same. Service was quick and friendly and the restaurant was pretty busy but they had our food done in a timely manner. Our combo musubi was delish, I just love the Katsu one! will be back as I’m sure more tournaments will be held nearby!

Really enjoyed going to L&L. The atmosphere was fun and the service was great. I ordered a little bit of everything. The«BBQ Mix» had their BBQ chicken(tender), beef(great tast) and ribs. All of which was very good! The Kalua pork was more traditional, very filling and nice. I also like the chicken katsu which was crispy with really nice sauce. I’d say you certainly get your money’s worth of finger licked good food. I left wishing I’d had room for more!

OMG! This place is TOTALLYAWESOME! I grew up in the islands, and have missed it terribly! We tried the«other» island bbq joint in the area and we’re disappointed. We tried L & L, and it is so good we go all the time! Everything is delicious! Aloha!

It’s L&L so very hard not to give a high rating. In Hawaii L&L is the standard to meet in terms of variety and quality plate lunch. I came here for the bbq beef and chicken katsu mixed plate with white rice(I know bad) and macaroni salad on a bed of cabbage. It’s a lot of food so come hungry. The Hawaiian sun green tea adds to complete the meal. Service is as expected. The food is amazing. The L&L brothers and its franchise partners continue to bring Hawaii transplants all over the country our beloved BBQ mix plate. :)

L & L is the spot! BBQ mixed plate is delicious! I’m confused why people give it anything less than 5 stars. If you like some good Hawaiian grub… this is it! Dump your Mac in with your rice, pour Yaki sauce all over the massive plate of delicious meat, and stuff your face! Super good! Used them to cater a Bachelor party with 20 people…8 of which were Hawaiian. Rave reviews from everyone! Some of the reviews I have read on here are stupid as hell! Are you complaining you have enough food for two meals! Tastes like everything is cooked on the same grill… are you serious!.. they have separate grills for each meat! LMAO! More salt. really! Put Yaki sauce on it! If they put more salt on it, really… my lips would retract into my face. I’m guessing that reviewer has high cholesterol! I’m just sayin’ !! Good lord! Love L&L!

Mmmm Mmmm Good. I love this place. I haven’t had a bad dish ever. I love their teriyaki rice, but my favorite go to is their macaroni salad. You just have to have some. Go. Try it. You’ll love it.

I came in to L&L looking for some good BBQ and didn’t find it. I ordered the weekly special which is currently the bento box for $ 9.99. It had teriyaki beef, BBQ chicken, rice, spam, Mahi Mahi and macaroni salad. First, the portion size was for two people. The beef and chicken tasted almost the same and it tasted like they had been cooked on the same grill. The sauce was the same, the little of it that was there, and neither meat had been seasoned. The fish was a mystery — not Mahi Mahi but another kind I’ve never had. It had a light breading that had a really light, almost tasteless tone and really needed salt. The spam had a pool of oil on it — pass. The white rice was just plain steamed rice without any seasoning. The macaroni salad was strange. It was just macaroni with tiny shredded carrot and a weird peach colored sauce that tasted like mayo and old yellow mustard. The cook may be having an off day as they were busy. However, I won’t be taking another chance. The restaurant itself needs to be cleaned with better organization. The cashier counters were dirty and the drywall was cracked. There are flyers posted everywhere and menu items crossed out, written over and/or edited with pen. There was a box of their 2012 credit card receipts sitting on top of the beverage cooler. The floor needed to be mopped, and the table I sat at briefly needed to be wiped down. They really need to get a professional looking menu, fix the walls, keep the place clean and take down all of the random papers taped to the exterior windows, counters, and menu. When I see these kind of things in the dining area, I’m scared to know what the kitchen and walk-ins look like and how they are maintained. The cashier appeared to not like her job or simply not be in a good mood. I watched her interact with different people, and that was how she came across to each of them. Someone asked her where the Sriracha was, and when they didn’t see it, she was annoyed and walked over to show them. They have a sign posted for hiring cooks and other positions. There is a shared private lot with other businesses in the strip mall they are in. Food: 2 Service: 2 Ambiance: 2 Parking: 4

I haven’t been to this location in a while and decided to stop in for lunch. I ordered the Bento Box Special since I’m very indecisive. It came with chicken, beef, fish, spam, mac salad and a free drink. Everything I could possibly be craving in one box for $ 10! Love it. And the amount of food there was, for the price, I barely finished a third of it. Now I have dinner for later. The cashier was really friendly from the second I walked in to the moment I left. I always appreciate when they acknowlege me upon leaving, even when they are helping another customer. The smell alone will invite you in, but the service and food will definitely bring you back.

When I don’t feel like cooking, eating fast food or sitting down at a restaurant, we like ordering take-out from here. I know that one entrée always becomes two meals for me. Even though I don’t have much interaction with the employees they are nice enough. I typically order the Lau Lau and Kahlua pork, comes with rice and mac salad. It’s always good and filling. My only gripe is sometimes I get cabbage and sometimes I don’t get it in my Kahlua pork. I don’t know if I’m suppose to ask for it. The BBQ mix plate has chicken, beef and short ribs. Consistently good as well. And we always order 4 extra sides of the mac salad. Delicious! It takes several days to eat it all between the two of us but it’s nice having some in the fridge.
